It was a Sunday morning, just about time for people to be up and out of their homes to enjoy the beautiful day. You had just exited the local library with a mischievous smile on your face after you had found the row of your published books and signed them in secret.

You felt giddy when you thought about someone buying one of your books and finding it signed by the author, how happy they would get and maybe how special they would feel. You kept walking with a slight jump in your step as you had to bite your bottom lip to lessen the smile and arrived at one of your favourite cafe's; Anteiku.

You had developed a habit of getting lost in Tokyo to find some of the best cafe's and mindlessly grading them on their coffee's and customer service. Anteiku was definitely up there in both categories and it was a plus when you found a cute boy who was always there with his nose constantly inside a book. He read them quiet fast and you liked to watch the way his eyes- because the other was covered with an eye-patch, skim over the words with such enthusiasm and curiosity that he wouldn't even put his book down until someone literally yelled his name or snatched the book away from his sights.

The boy had managed to capture your attention and you swore you almost squealed in delight, restraining yourself from clapping your hands together in glee when you saw the boy with one of your books. He had been sitting at a table in the back, wearing his work uniform that was the same of the other employees so he was obviously on his break. You guessed his coffee had gone cold by now since he had only taken a sip when he got the book out and now all you heard from him was the constant flicking of paper as he got deeper and deeper into the book.

You knew some people had caught you staring at the raven-haired boy and they probably thought you were some kind of stalker by the way you sat perched on your chair; with your bottom almost off of the edge, elbows resting in the middle of the table as you rested your head in your hands with a coffee sitting in front of you as the huge smile never left your face.

There was a girl of sort navy hair and a cute appearance who always had her eyes on you. You figured maybe she was cautious because of how often you were caught shamelessly watching the boy or maybe she was is girlfriend. The latter saddened you a bit but you also noticed how unaffectionate the two were as well so it eased your worries. She had been the one to take your orders the most, maybe so she could secretly find out more about you but you actually didn't mind gaining a new friend.

"Is everything okay over here?" She asked you kindly with a small smile. You smiled back at her as you swallowed your coffee and let out a sigh of delight at the taste of the caffeine going down your throat. You quickly pulled the chair beside you out and gestured for her to take a seat. She looked confused and slightly irritated but it was gone as soon as you thought you saw it. She took a seat nevertheless when she saw her friends tending to other customers so it wasn't that busy and she could sit and chat.

"Everything is perfect! This coffee is to die for, I absolutely adore this cafe!" You exclaimed in glee. The girl seemed shocked about your reply for a moment, in reality your kindness and excessive happiness actually momentarily caused her to become still but then she only smiled, a light blush becoming apparent from the compliments and attention.

She noticed your eyes drifting from her and then to behind her where she knew Kaneki was seated. She looked down when she knew you were already daydreaming about him again but when she looked up, your eyes were staring right at her.

"Hey uh.." You waited and the girl caught on, "Kirishima, uh Touka Kirishima." You nodded and smiled, holding out your hand to formally introduce yourself as she watched you open your mouth, "Touka, I'm (F/N) (L/N)- It's very nice to meet you."

"You too but I know you don't come in here almost everyday just to have coffee- it's him too, isn't it? Why don't you talk to him?"

You were frozen for a small moment but you only smiled, letting a giggle slip when she confirmed your suspicions because of much she had really been watching you stare at the boy who seemed really oblivious to his surroundings. You were also relieved when you figured she wasn't his girlfriend too.

"I will talk to him, bu-"

"It's Ken, actually Kaneki Ken."

"Oh, thank you! What an adorable name!" You squealed, seeming to have hearts in your eyes when you couldn't stop fidgeting because you finally knew the gorgeous stranger's name. Touka laughed at your child-like antics but watched as she waited for you to continue with your previous answer.

"Yes anyway, as I said- I will talk to him but I like to watch his reactions as he reads that book." Touka raised an eyebrow at your ridiculous answer, emitting an, 'Hmmm' when she figured you were just too nervous and didn't have the guts to approach him because it was pretty obvious you had a crush on him, even though you hadn't even met yet.

You coughed out a laugh, blushing red at your own answer but you only answered that it was true- that's  really what you were doing. Touka didn't seem convinced but she turned back to Kaneki to see him slowly and blindlessly reaching out for his cold coffee and drink from the cup without taking his eyes from the pages.

"That book.. It's one of my favourites and it is my most treasured piece that i've published, I want to know what he thinks of it- but not in a verbal way.. Do you get what I mean?" You questioned in a low voice. Your feeble voice caught Touka's attention and her eyes widened immensely at your words.

'Piece?'

'Treasured?'

"You wrote that!?"

Your eyes widened at her loud voice and you couldn't help but laugh out loud when she gained the attention of the other people in the small cafe. You didn't notice but she had also gotten Kaneki's attention when his eyes were boring into yours when you unconsciously looked towards him for the hundredth time.

You already knew your cheeks had gone as red as a tomato but you couldn't look away. You were frozen and Touka almost laughed when she heard your breath get halted in your throat. You smiled slowly when you saw Kaneki's cheeks turning a precious pink hue that only made him illuminate even more. You couldn't deny that this boy was absolutely dashing and you were determined to speak to him- even if you were secretly afraid.

"You'll regret it if you don't speak to him.."

Your eyes widened again at Touka's low words, she sounded wise and knowledgable which was different from the sweet and kind Touka who had spoken to you previously. Nevertheless her words didn't make you think twice when you stood from your seat and made your way over to Kaneki who watched with wide eyes, a gaping mouth and red cheeks. His fingers had tightened around the familiar paperback book that he hadn't let go of since you first saw him today and by the time you had reached him, a tight and nervous smile was on your face when your shaky voice left your mouth.

"H-Hi Kaneki- Oh, sorry- Touka told me your name-" You didn't know Kaneki's eyes could get wider once you said his name, "I was just wondering uh.. Wh-what you thought about the book..?"

His breath hitched in his throat when you began speaking to him so you were a bit worried when he hadn't taken a breath yet. He then wordlessly gestured towards the seat across from him and indicated that you sit with him, as you crouched to sit you turned to Touka to smile excitedly at her, one she returned just as sweet.

After slow and awkward introductions, Kaneki slowly answered very vaguely that he liked the author, '(A/N)' and her books but when you didn't answer he continued to elaborate. The more he spoke about the book, the more excited he became and he became much more enthusiastic about it. He didn't even stop to take a breath but the amount of eagerness and zealousness that came pouring out of him only brightened your grin until your cheeks hurt.

After you noticed Touka leaving after her shift ended, you checked the time as Kaneki halted when he observed your actions. His smile slowly dimmed when thinking about parting ways but you only smiled reassuringly and asked an odd question after you had borrowed his pen to write something on a crinkled piece of paper you found in your pocket.

"Hey.. Is there a signature on the back of the cover?"

The puzzled boy stared but reluctantly checked, only to reveal it was blank. Kaneki noticed you slump in disappointment but the way you smiled softly confused him again. He felt slightly sad at the thought of having to leave when he only knew your name but he became extremely flustered at the thought of asking for a number. Therefore he was silent, only watching with dull eyes as you picked up your bag and stood to leave.

After taking a few steps you suddenly turned around to face him and you saw him becoming flustered which made you smile with a blush. "Hey, uh.. a while ago I heard that (A/N) secretly signs some of her books at the bookstore down the street.. Uh just thought I'd let you know and uh, I-I wanted to gi-give you this.. I-I uh think you're really handsome- and I u-uh really, really like talking to yo-you.. Bye Kaneki-Chan!"

In a haste you had disappeared from Kaneki's vision and the boy's head was becoming dizzy with the rapid thoughts revolving around the fact that he actually got a girl's number, could've considered it a date in the eyes of bystanders and he was definitely going to the library tomorrow.

- Next Day -

Kaneki was slightly disheartened in Anteiku when you hadn't entered the cafe the whole time he was watching the door. It made him upset because your words hadn't let his brain and it also consumed his sleep time too. He couldn't stop thinking about you and the fact that you thought he was handsome, the fact that a pretty girl like you even had such a thought cross your mind made him blush with a mushy feeling coming over him.

Nevertheless he had finished work and it was about three in the afternoon. He was walking towards the bookstore and after trying to casually speed-walk, he made it inside and went on his way straight toward the aisle of (A/N) that he knew like the back of his hand.

He grab the same book that was in his bag and opened it up to find it blank. He began thinking maybe you were joking but he also didn't thinking you would be that cruel- this was his favourite author behind Sen Takatsuki after all.

He picked up another book, the same one- and then another. Then it was the last of the same title and he was expecting a blank page. There weren't much of these books left because of it's popularity- it seemed plausible that some other people had gotten the books with the signature.
Nevertheless he grabbed the book, hearing your voice in his head on repeat and opened it up. His eyes widened when he read the black ink that was indeed (A/N)'s writing and signature.

'Hey! Thank you so much for picking me up!
Now take good care of me please!
- (A/N Signature)'

But that wasn't the only thing that surprised him and gave him butterflies that the same time. In one movement Kaneki had dropped his things on the floor to get the crinkled piece of paper out of his pocket that felt like a boulder that he had no idea how to approach.

He almost ripped it because of how fast he opened it but he only smiled like a madman, blushed madly at the words on the sheet, placing the note right below the book signature as he felt as if he would collapse from shock and excitement.

'Kaneki-Chan! Call me Please?!
(030)-7485-2948
- (A/N Signature)'

Kaneki knew he would be calling you very, very soon.
