"He-.. HEY NO! Stop- please NO!"

You knew everyone was acting suspicious today before the expedition but you weren't expecting this at all. They kept flying past you, all of your comrades. They were screaming, laughing and flying through the trees of the vast forest. You hung there by your 3DMG, one of the ropes were broken and the other had somehow wrapped around tree branch above you.

You were something like thirty metres from the ground, your heart was pounding mercilessly in your chest, your limbs were hanging and you tried so, so desperately to climb the rope but you couldn't manage. You kept sliding back down, adding more pressure around your waist. Your sweating palms caused your haste movement to mean nothing, only feeling the burning on your hands from the rope.

You heard the loud stomping, your gas was empty. You knew, only after a few moments, that this was all planned. It was a trap and you were the bait. They had intentionally half-filled your gas and now they were speeding right past you, slapping your hand away when you tried to hysterically grab a hold of the back of their capes or their arms.

"It's alright! Everything is going to plan!" Your squad leader, Charlie, called out. He was smiling but their was something about that smile, it was malicious and it frightened you. Before he was caring and compassionate about getting rid of the titans and he seemed like an older brother rather than a captain towards you, towards your squad. Was that only a facade for his true intentions?

You yelped when they spun you around as laughter fell from their mouths, the thumping got louder and closer and it was as if your heart had been pumped up into your throat. It was so loud, your breathing was ragged, your limbs were so heavy and your brain was full of mush. This was it, this was your last moments- maybe this could be your contribution to humanity?

"Wai- WAIT I DON'T WANT TO DIE!"

They only sneered, glancing at you for a second before finally disappearing beyond the green leaves. You stuttered in disbelief to yourself, you heard the quiet and it was utterly terrifying. You felt the breath, your heart stopped- with as little movements as you could, you turned your head to look beside you. It was a titan.

It watched you as if it was laughing to itself. How humiliating. Your shaky breath left your body, your eyes were wide and bloodshot, unconscious tears leaving your eyes, snot leaving your nose. It breathed, the wretched smell of dead flesh and metallic blood bathing you in it as your eyes never left it's own. You heard the familiar zipping of 3DMG's but you paid it no attention.

It's hand lifted and came nearer to you, you knew your efforts to escape would be for nothing, so you endured it. You closed your eyes, images of the people who were your comrades, the reason for what was occurring right now. You wanted to slap yourself for thinking of them before death. You couldn't help it though, you trusted them.

The zipping came closer until it paused, gas- multiple gas cans filling the quiet void in the forest and then the clean swipe of knives, the ones used to murder the titans. Deep groaning and moaning was heard, and then one, two-three, four- all of these knives swiping at flesh, your eyes remained closed until a force knocked into you. Your eyes unconsciously opened to witness the bloody form of the dead titan.

There were screams of agony but your voice had left your throat when you felt yourself falling. Falling when your rope snapped, your arms trying to reach out to anything to grab, you knew nothing was there but you were so desperate, you didn't want to die.

You blinked, blinked again and groaned at the morning sunlight penetrating your face from the window beside you. Another day of training and so-called teamwork, combat training and cleaning thanks to your captain.
You slowly stood, stretching your aching limbs and hastily getting dressed into your uniform. You tied your knotted hair into a bun, stepping out the door without another thought when your stomach growled for food.

You entered the mess hall, acknowledging and ignoring the rowdiness of your comrades. You grabbed a tray and didn't even glance at the food once you found a seat that was vacant. You sighed in relief when you caught one in the back of the room. You sat, messing with your food that looked like complete crap until hearing another tray slapped against the table in front of you. You rolled your eyes unconsciously.

"Brat don't roll your eyes at me."

You glanced up at the captain and grabbed your bread roll, ripping it apart before Sasha thought it would be okay to steal it, "Good morning Captain."

He nodded back before taking a sip of his steaming tea, "You have bags under your eyes, get more sleep- I can't have my soldiers falling asleep on expeditions. Idiot."

He was completely stoic but you dismissed it when staring at the man before you, chewing your food as you answered- much to his distaste, "Mhm, It's alright- just some bad dreams.. Thank you again... L-..Levi.."

He knew automatically what you were speaking about, it was he who had saved you after all. He had killed the titan that almost made a meal out of you and you were eternally grateful, only following his orders and stubbornly persisting to become a soldier in his squad and no one else's. You were incredibly irritating which led to Levi finally accepting you.

"Heichou, morning." You heard more clangs of food trays against the table, one to your right, left and all around Levi too. He mumbled something incoherent back before having another sip of tea, glancing at you to acknowledge your words,

"Morning (Y/N)- hey are you okay? You look really tired."

Armin asked you with a smile, you smiled back, or you tried. But you suddenly lost your appetite when watching the young soldiers laugh and eat so casually around you. You loathed this kind of environment, "I'm fine, don't talk to me so easily." You mumbled out.

You shuffled out of your seat, leaving your half-eaten food behind as the other people were silenced when you spoke so rudely to Armin. Armin looked mildly hurt, unsure if he had said something he shouldn't have and Levi sighed as he watched the spot you were previously seated.

"What the hell was that? She didn't have to be so rude, don't worry about it Armin." Eren spoke, eyebrows furrowed when he stared after you. Levi's brow twitched yet he remained quiet. Mikasa ate her food in silence as Jean casually watched her after he had also been staring at you in annoyance.

"Yeah.. uh..-"

"This isn't my thing to speak about so just tread lightly around her, she just needs to get over that shit."

"That shi-.. What happened?" Eren asked cautiously.

"Tch, idiot ask her."

You had found a quiet spot behind the building of the mess hall, thankfully, no one saw you wondering around so you were alone. You didn't bring a book from your room so you couldn't do anything but watch the clouds drift across the sky, you followed a bird flying across the vast plains before a voice disrupted you.

"(Y/N), you okay?"

Your eyebrow twitched in annoyance, your teeth grinding without thinking when you heard Eren's voice. You turned your head slowly to face him and visibly sighed in irritation, "Jeez I just wanted to see if you were okay!"

"Whatever, you can go now, go and practise your cleaning or some shit like that."

You lazily waved him off, making him internally fume even more, "Oi! You didn't have to be so rude to Armin like that you know!"

"He shouldn't have spoken to me-

"But you were talking to Captain Levi! How is that fair!?" You growled, jumping to your feet to nudge the younger boy with your arm, "I don't care! Leave me alone!"

Eren growled back, clenching his fists as his visually-pleasing turquoise eyes bored into yours in anger, "No! I came here for a reason so I'm going through with it!"

"Why are you so stubborn! Leave me alone, I don't care about Armin!" You yelled.

Why couldn't he leave you be? He was so infuriating and his eyes were so mesmerising, it was so distracting. You loved to glance at his lips but damn would it be great to shut them up. His hair looked so perfect all time but damn this age difference was annoying.

"Well you should because he's one of your comrades, like me!"

"What a pain.. I don't care." You muttered. You kicked the dirt below your feet, feeling annoyed, hurt and shy all of a sudden. Your face felt hot.

"I'm in love with you."

"You head shot up, "Eh?" Staring at the suddenly blushing teenager who shared the same shocked expression as you.

"Ah! I- uh, no I- dammit.. I said that in my head.. That's awkward." He laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck in embarrassment as his face burned bright red, "... That's nice. Bye Eren."

The teen sputtered in shock at your reaction and grabbed your arm in one quick movement. You jumped at his warm touch, feeling his heat transfer to your skin before you snatched your arm away in alarm, "Wait! I just told you I love you!"

"And? You don't know what you're talking about Eren, you know how old I am right? Come one let's be real here. You only think you l-love me because you're scared or something, go talk to Mikasa and Armin or something like that."

He exploded, "Excuse me?! I just confessed to you and you dismiss me like that? You have no idea about how I feel! I don't care that your cold to everyone and only talk to the Captain sometimes and I definitely don't care about the fact that your like almost the same age as my squad leader! Stop being so closed off dammit!"

You stopped, mouth agape before shutting it completely. Eren stared silently, knowing he had more or less stepped on a land mine. He stuttered again, his hard eyes staring into yours in confusion as he remain in place, breathless and about to speak before hearing a superior yell out, "Soldiers, return to your squad leaders immediately."

"E-eh? Why?" Eren mumbled to himself, he glanced at you in question. You sighed but answered in a whisper that you hoped sounded unaffected, "We have to prepare for the expedition,"
But you knew Eren heard your voice crack.
