It was time to finally head home. Things didn't go as planned and you took a little break from wizardry and the guild. You needed to think about things after you completed your mission. You didn't mean for it to go for as long as it did but you were spending some quality time with your family, you didn't want to head back to the guild after what happened, it went south too quickly and you didn't know what you did to deserve it, what had you done? Was caring a bad thing to do now?

Three and a half long years had passed and you had finally decided to go back to the Fairy tail guild. You were excited to go their and experience that feeling of belonging again but you were afraid, your mind couldn't stop creating doubts in your mind and you couldn't help but think of different scenarios that could happen.

The master could kick you out of the guild.

People could welcome you with loving arms and tears in their eyes, causing a party to erupt due to your return.

Everyone could hate you and avoid you like the plague for leaving them.

Wizards could forgive and forget, acting as if nothing had happened and everything could go back to the way it was.

You were currently on the train to go to another town and there you would advance onto another train to go on the three day train ride to the edge of Magnolia. From there you would walk home, to your guild and only pray for the best. Sitting in your seat, your behind was now numb but you did nothing about it when you thought back to leaving your immediate family only hours ago.

- Flashback to a Few Hours Ago -

Entering the small village, people welcomed you with open arms and large smiles. You greeted childhood friends and they told you all about how they were doing and how happy they were. They informed you of your family, how well and kind they were which only made your smile grow.

After greetings and introductions you found your previous home before you moved to Magnolia and a soft smile appeared on your face when you took notice of the little girl making a flower crown in the front yard and the older woman sitting in a rocking chair, knitting what looked like socks.

You placed your suitcases down and that caught the attention of the little girl who then froze but erupted into squeals and laughter when she noticed it was you. She jumped to her two little feet and slammed into your body, instantly wrapping her feeble little arms around your waist with you returning the action.

You greeted your seven year old sister and held her as you both approached the older woman who was now standing and smiling at the two sisters. She welcomed you inside after kissing your forehead in greeting and then ushered the two of you inside to make dinner.

Three years had passed and you spent quality time with your grandmother and sister. You watched them grow and observed their day-to-day routines which made you feel warm because it was as if nothing had changed from when you left this place four years ago. You informed the two of all you had done in the Fairy Tail guild and all the friends and family you made. You little sister begged for more stories about the wizards like Natsu and Erza, sometimes Lucy and Gray too and your grandmother only wondered why you came back here for so long when you spoke so fondly about the pink haired Dragon Slayer.

She also wondered why you seemed to grimace and smile at the same time when you told stories about him. She could see it in your eyes even if you didn't know it. Your grandmother had always been a wise and kind woman and she saw that same sparkle in your mothers eyes when she spoke of or looked at your father.

"My dear, Why have you not returned back to this, Natsu fellow, when you are so smitten of him?"

You blushed at her sudden question, thinking about how easily she could deduct your feelings for the fire boy. You turned sour when thinking about it and sighed when flashbacks of the fight Natsu and yourself got into came rushing to your head.

"It's... Uh, it's complicated Grams." You replied as you continued to braid your sisters smooth hair.

"You love him and so you should return to him, you don't want to be too late do you?" Her soft voice broke the unending silence and you nodded your head firmly, agreeing with her and wanting to be back with Natsu even if it only meant getting to see his heart-warming smile again.

- Time Skip -

"I'll write you, and I'll visit when I can, okay?" You spoke sadly while crouching down to face the gorgeous face of your younger sister. She had tears in her eyes but she wouldn't let them fall. She nodded strongly and jumped into your arms, nuzzling her face into your neck but letting you go so you could hug your grandma.

The elder woman stared at you with that warm smile on her face as she immediately brought you into a hug that involuntarily let a tear slip down your cheek. She murmured, "Don't worry child, we will be okay- go and return to your guild."

You nodded into the embrace and let go, squeezing her fragile hand and letting go. Picking up your suitcase you turned to leave, waving goodbye to your family.

- Now -

You hadn't noticed that the train had now arrived to your stop. Grabbing your suitcases you hurried off of your train to catch the next one that would take you back to Magnolia. You were hoping your nerves would've calmed down on the train but that didn't go as planned and you could only keep walking.

- Time Skip to Magnolia -

It was now morning of the next day in Magnolia and you hated the fact that the guild could possibly hate you for leaving for this long. You didn't expect it but you just had to take a break. You got even angrier at yourself when you thought about the fact that the guild hating you was now actually an option to think about. You wished the whole fight didn't happen and you hated the remembering how it all happened.

-Flash Back -

"God dammit Natsu! Stop burning my clothes, I'm poor enough as it is!" You screamed while chasing the Dragon Slayer in fury, your vision being blood red.

"Come and catch me (Y/N)!" He yelled back laughing. Laughing. The boy was laughing at you, laughing at your distress and your lack of clothes as you attempted to get him just so you could strangle him.

"Natsu! I can't believe I'm actually friends with you! I've had enough!!" You roared as you stood still. Panting from running and the hatred shooting through your veins. The pink haired boy stilled too, the entire guild falling silent at your abrupt and bold words. The two of you quarrelled from time to time but today was the day you finally cracked. Natsu's eyebrows furrowed as he smiled nervously as if he was trying to ease the situation. He scratched the back of his head and answered you, still cautious about your threats and dangerous body language.

"Wha- Uh, (Y/N) it was just a silly game! You know, playing around? Jokes.. Ha Ha..?"

You stalked closer to the boy, grabbing his collar and bringing him closer to you so he could see how serious you were.

"No Natsu. I'm sick and tired of this, I'm done- leave me alone, and I mean it Natsu Dragneel." You seethed through your teeth, barely hanging on to your burned shirt that had been burned to a crisp. Natsu visibly gulped in his spot, his eyes showing shock, concern and then worry. You wanted to smile at the sight when you knew you had gotten to him but you knew your words would also make him blurt out some harsh words in his defence.

"Whatever! Like I wanted to be your friend anyway, Your a bad wizard anyway!" You and everyone else in the guild gasped at his harsh comment. People knew you were insecure about your magic and you always thought you slowed people down. Natsu was one of the only people to encourage you with your wizardry and made you feel better about yourself. That was actually how you fell in love with the Fire Dragon Slayer.

- Now -

Memories flooded back into your mind and you found yourself standing right in front of the Fairy tail guild. Speeding up, you figured you would enter and get this over with.
The guild looked different, it was bigger and looked more stronger or intimidating. You entered the doors and they slammed open on the wall, at first people only thought it was just another wizard coming in for a drink but went silent when people began to recognise the person who disappeared for three and a half years.

"(Y/N)! Fight me Now!!"

Natsu's voice exploded throughout the guild and you immediately screamed when you noticed a fire ball coming straight towards your gut. You jumped and shot your magic at him, hitting your target when he suddenly laid on the ground passed out. Gray smiled at your entrance and Erza ate a strawberry cake while greeting you with a mouthful. Master Makarov watched you and pulled his beer away from his mouth and spoke in an authoritative but happy voice, "(Y/N)! Welcome home, we hope your here to stay now?"

Your eyes went wide when you saw some people you didn't know and the rest of them were only smiling as they welcomed you home. You noticed a blonde haired girl who had half of her hair tied up and she stared at you in awe when she looked between you and Natsu. Their was a black haired man who sat alone eating some metal and there was a blue haired girl next to Gray who seemed to have hearts in her eyes as she practically smelled him. Another darker blue haired younger girl was now crouching beside Natsu as she seemed to be healing him and a second later he was up and hugging you.

You yelped from the sudden affection and stood still, thinking about the fact that Natsu Dragneel was hugging you after you had knocked him out and after the fight you had three and a half years ago.

"I missed you so much! I tried looking for you everywhere but I couldn't and I got so scared!" Natsu yelled in an exasperated voice that almost had you melting in your spot. He sounded so upset and lonely you couldn't help hug back when guild members began watching and speaking.

"He was a wreck without you."

"He had no idea what to do."

"He didn't act like a real man!"

"I swear I saw him cry once."

"I DID NOT CRY." Natsu screamed as fire blasted out of his mouth when he let go of you so his fire didn't touch you or your clothing.

"You cried like a baby you ash for brains!" Gray yelled from his seat when his clothes were suddenly on the floor. You laughed at the guild, thanking the heavens when you realised nothing had changed but Natsu's next sentence rendered you silent with a face so red that it would surely put Erza's hair to shame.

"Just because I missed her and love her doesn't mean I cried! Come on!"

The guild grew quiet once again and you were just able to hear Gray muttering, "Finally." to himself. Natsu looked around wondering why it was quiet and you couldn't help but smile as he held your hand and smiled at you.

"Why is it so quiet?" He muttered towards you. You rolled your eyes at his denseness and leaned towards him while squeezing his hand.

"You just confessed your love for me." You answered with an obvious tone. The boy looked at you with a smile and answered, "But they already know I love you.."

"Oh. Well Natsu, I've loved you ever since I learnt what the word meant."

"Awesome!" He yelled before bringing you into a hard and well-deserved kiss.

"Aye sir!"
