Hello everyone!! Thankyou for reading my story and voting and commenting! And Thankyou so much for actually reading this authors note, I don't make these often but I figured it was a big enough issue there was a need to address it here rather than in a comment or something.

So a lot of people are commenting how Luke is pathetic and stupid and delilah is stupid for staying with him, etc.

I want people to understand that, yes, I'm aware, the purpose of the story is to kind of give insight on an abusive relationship and the unhealthy cycles and why people stay in such a relationship, and give a different perspective. I very often see fics with abusive relationships where the abuser is all bad, never really nice, there's never a hope that they might change, and I feel that probably that's not accurate always, I wanted to make a story where a lot of the time the abuser is really genuinely a good person and trying their best and there are reasons they're so abusive, and the victims thought process on why they stay and the hope and love they have for their abuser.

A reason I feel it's important to address this is because I have other stories on my page that show relationships that were not healthy and at the time of writing them they were my ideal and what I thought was a very  good relationship and it took a lot to realize that the kind of relationship I idolized was in reality not healthy or happy. That is not the case with this story, I know very well and it's very intentional that my characters are stupid and their relationship is a mess because that's realistic and that the story I wanted to tell and the perspective I wanted to give.

I realize the comments of this sort weren't aimed to criticize me or my writing and I'm not taking it that way, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with this type of comment, I appreciate all my comments even if they're criticizing me as long as they're not offensive or anything, and I'm not calling out any one person for these comments, I've just been noticing a lot of them coming in of this nature in the last month or so and I wanted to address that what they're criticizing is exactly what you're meant to think and feel, the way these characters are acting is not right and I do not encourage this behavior. Again, feel free to continue making this type of comment but I want everyone to know I'm aware and I agree, this is a fucked up fic.
