Chapter 2

Note: I remember when I first listened to this song. The rhythm seemed so familiar. And the video is like the one from "somebody that I used to know". Anyways enjoy.

When I was little I used to go to the rooftop of the house and wait for a shooting star. I always wondered where they were headed to. I've been so lucky, so many people barely see stars but here in Carltus the skies or filled with them. Aunt Sophia says that if you follow the stars they will lead you to the end of the world. And when you get there you can jump into the dark sky and become a shooting star. That is if you ever live to follow them.

" Reign"

My best friend Lauren came running down the hallway with a paper hanging from her hand. She stops and panted with her hands on the wall while she caught her breath.

" Party. Saturday.Preps". Party this Saturday, and of course it had to be the preps. The group of the four wealthy families. Ashby, Halrden, Leichstors, Sander. The four golden boys who came here with their families only for vacations. Every girl here yearned their presence for the minimum that it was. It was ridiculous how much fame their looks and wealth gave them.

" I don't think I can go, I am leaving Sunday morning with aunt Sophia to Alaska. She has a meeting there."

" You need to come. At least for half an hour. You've never come to their parties, and honestly, they're the best."

Sure they were the best but I don't wanna be another victim of society. Everyone likes, and do's the same damn thing. It is so sad watching Lauren fall into the line of pathetic human beings.

" I am sorry, but I can drop you off I'm gonna have to buy some stuff near there anyway"

" Thank You, See you later I have to go to class, and you should to we are going to be late!" she hugged me and rushed down the hallway to physics. I had Geometry, in the next building.

" How to get the area of a triangle"

Miss Marie kept talking, but I wasn't paying attention. The news said that there was going to be a meteorite shower this Sunday. That was why my aunt wanted to live in Alaska. " We have first-row tickets for the show" she kept saying all the time. I've never seen one before. My aunt says they are intimidating. You are like a molecule compared to them. I was stoked about going there. Deep down I have always loved my aunt's work. She knows so much that it envies me. When I grow up I am still not sure what I wanna be. But I do know that astrology will always be my secret passion.

The familiar sound of the bell ringing boomed through the walls. Everyone rushed out of the rooms as quickly as possible, desperately to get out of school campus.

I drove the familiar road up the mountain. The trees had faint traces of snow, and the air looked a lot more chilly. A sign that winter was starting.

I pulled up in the driveway and walked inside and straight to my room. I needed to start packing, something I was clearly bad at. Last time when we went to the French Alps I forgot my pyjamas, so we had to buy an "I heart France" shirt and some men's sweats at a local Monoprix. This type of things happens very often.

On my counter, I saw the book my aunt had given me. I took it and sat on my sofa next to my french doors. The first page had in a neat and coercive manuscript the phrase "Faser af månen". At the center of the page, there were eight circles shaded in charcoal gray. Each one of them labeled in the different thing that seemed to be numbered.

As I flipped the pages drawings of what seemed geoglyphs started to appear. Flying figures, and crawling pictures all written in what seemed danish. A certain drawing caught my eye. There was a girl who seemed to be vanishing under the sun, and another one had her elbows and knees bent, head bow down slowly rising from the ground. And standing bright and big was the moon.

I don't get why my aunt would give me a book to read if I can't even understand what it says. A quickly closed it and continue to pack my stuff.
