Irvene was whispering through the phone. Shuffling from one side of the room to the other. It was pretty obvious that she was having an intense conversation. It was early in the morning. I had come back from my morning jog when I saw my aunt talking with Irvene at the front door. It was the first time that my aunt had seen Irvene, and she was mad at me for not telling her that I had a new friend at school. The truth is I have no idea what lie Irvene told Aunt Sophia but for some reason she totally bought.

" Okay, Mom. Tell the Tracking Council its all covered," she said something and hanged up the phone.

I casually walked into the kitchen, grabbing a cup of water on the way. I rested my palms on top of the counter.

" So, is everything alright."

" Yeah. It's just my mom. She keeps pressuring me into bringing you back as soon as possible to Fornax. But she doesn't get that leaving to a city not located on the maps is not an easy thing to get permission to do."

" What do you mean leaving to Fornax" I carefully asked praying that she wouldn't answer what I thought she will.

" Well, since I am not from your exact kind, you need some help from someone that knows more about being a Sandlight. You know like, to help you explore your capabilities."

" How long does this take. I have to be back at school in two weeks." I had no idea what was going inside her head and her moms, but being a Sandlight doesn't change the fact that I have a life here. A school to attend, an Aunt who cares and loves me, friends, that I care about. The thought of leaving scared me. Even more knowing that Irvene had no Idea of how long the was going to last.

" Look Reign. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We still have a couple of days to come up with a perfect plan!" she snatched an apple from the counter and reached for the front door waving me to come over.

Today was a sunny day. A perfect day to walk around the lake. The town square was crowded. The air was a little cold but the pavement felt warm under my string sandals. I was wearing a yellow dress with tiny flower patterns and a bow that tied around my waist resting in the bottom of my back. Irvene insisted we wore hats so she lend me a big creamy beach hat that was delicately sowed. I paired the whole thing with a pair of round white sunglasses.

" This is amazing. You literally live inside nature!" Irvene was happily observing her surroundings.

" I thought Fornax had like lots of nature." Which was true. I mean she is supernatural aren't they supposed to have like a free environment?

" We do. Theres a huge Mountain Range surrounds the city. The mountains are snowy during winters and the forest is beautiful during spring and fall. But the thing is that we all live in the city and it is and an hour drive to the outside."

We sipped on our Japanese soda. My aunt is doing this thing where she buys a bunch of different snacks and recipes from the world.

On the far end next to an Ice Cream stand Noah and Liam were with their friends. I started walking towards them. I have no idea of what I am going to do but my body seems to go straight for it.

" Hello, Noah. Liam."

both boys turned their heads around at the sound of my voice. Noah gave me a smile while Liam high five me.

" Long time no see!" Noah exclaimed. Both Boys suddenly realized the presence of someone else. Noah and Irvene were the first ones to make eye contact. In a brief second a flicker of recognition passed through both of their eyes. But as soon as Irvene realized that she was staring she turned around and observed Liam. Her eyes inspected him and so did his. I took the time to interrupt the starring contest.

" Guys this is Irvene she is a friend of mine from... mmmm. Irvene where exactly are you from?" 

great now I just made a fool out of myself. How could I have never asked such a simple question?

" Denmark. I was born in a small town there but I moved here when I was two." she smiled in an apologetical way at me. No this got weirder. Why are so many people I know from Denmark. Actually, why do so many people from Denmark appear in my life?

" Crazy! that is awesome." Liam responded.

" We were just getting Ice cream. Would you two like one?" Noah nodded his head towards the back of the line of the ice cream stand.

" Sure"

"Why not"

A strong wind blew my hat backward making me go back a few steps. I carefully bent down trying not to activate any power stored inside me. I quickly took a glance through my side eye. And the three of them were exchanging some words in a very serious way. What the hell?! They became friends so quickly. But my gut said otherwise. Even if it was for a brief second that moment made me feel unsure. I couldn't quite put a finger to what I was feeling. But I know it isn't nice.
