Lucian:

"Will you shut the hell up!" We both grumble.

"I told you they should have been twins!"

"Gianni! Shut up before I unleash Gems to bust your nose like Maximus!" I grumble out in annoyance.

"No way in hel....... Heck am I getting a tampon shoved up my nose." Gianni squeals out.

A cup that had....

Just a second ago had water in it comes wizzing in the air.

"Ouch! What the hell Gemma?!" Gianni whines.

"Gross! That better have been water and not piss that landed in my eyeballs." Alonzo yells.

"Damn. I went for one jackass and managed to catch two." Gems grunts out.

"Language!" Matteo says sternly.

"Jackasses means donkeys. I technically didn't cuss." Gems sasses back.

"Keep it up and my hand will officially meet your ass." Renzo warns Gems.

Renzo hasn't ever given Gemma a spanking. Not yet at least. And I can tell he doesn't ever want to. So, he's trying to correct her attitude by just scaring her....

Maybe?!

He does this often with all of his siblings. Including me. When Renzo has had enough of our mouths and attitudes. Or when he thinks we have gone too far; he'll go from our goofy protective older brother to a stern nonnegotiable parent figure. Even Matteo has gotten his ass busted by Renzo. That day was the day I nearly pissed my pants laughing so hard.

"Sorry." Gemma mumbles out.

Before anyone could say a word my door burst open and a nurse comes trotting in. We've never seen this nurse before. She's at least 5'7 with blonde hair. Her hair is shoved into a messy bun. Her scrubs were black like our section's colors. But we never hired her. Dad does the hiring for this hospital. She doesn't look like she belongs at this hospital. Dad picks the best of the best. She looks like she just out of jail. There's no way in hell she works here. Her actions and appearance has us all questioning her every move. It is enough to alert Valentino, who has already blocking her way towards my bed.

"Who are you?" Dad questions.

His question doesn't falter her steps as she still is trying to walk around Val.

Girl. Good luck on that. He's a whole building.

"I'm his nurse for the day. Now can you move out of my way?" She replies.

She evades dad's question and doesn't give us her name. Normally, they'll tell us their names when we ask. Or they'll introduce themselves to their patients. Not this one. She just comes storming into the room and starts to walk towards my damn bed.

Has she gone mad?

That's a good way to get hurt.

"Name?" Renzo snaps at her.

"I'm his nurse! You don't need to know my name or my daily life. I'm here to give this patient his morning dosage." She snaps back.

Her words and action as us now on edge. Our gut feelings are on point when she first came in. She doesn't belong here.

Not one bit.

I watch as Gi takes his phone out and I knew what he is up to. Seconds later he tucks his phone back into his sweatpants' pocket and before you could blink Val, Vin, and Lee's phones go off.

"He already had his medicine this morning. He hasn't called out for it. So?" Gemma questions.

"Doctor's orders. So now move." She replies.

"Well, Lucian is denying this medicine. Now where is Delilah, his original nurse at?" Dad all but growls out.

"On break and he can't deny his medication. He's a minor." She counters.

"Well, I'm denying it for him. When she gets back from break send her in here. You may leave." Dad snaps back.

"I have to give him his medicine sir." She argues back.

"As his parent I'm telling you he will not take it. Now leave." Dad yells.

She looks taken back by dad's tone of voice. I mean how else do you think he would react. We all have told you to leave and I don't want the medicine. So, just walk out.

Common sense.

Right?

Before anyone could blink, Gems is already out of bed and sprinting around Val. She slaps the syringe out of this unknown woman's hand. The nurse looks taken back by the actions; this doesn't stop my sister from taking her hand and slapping the fuck out of the nurse. Her mask is now halfway off. Without even thinking, I hit my call button to the receptionist, Holly. When the lady starts to ask what is wrong, the nurse has already turned around and ran out of the room while holding her cheek.

"Uh! Can I have my nurse?" I ask.

"Sure sweetheart. She's on her way right now." Holly replies.

Delilah comes walking through my door right as Holly ended the connection.

"Lucian. You're awake. How are you feeling? Are you uncomfortable, okay, in pain?" Delilah asks.

"Actually...." I started to explain.

"Who is this lady?" Val asks.

He turns his phone around and shows the picture to my nurse. I know you can't see her face from the mask but you can recognize the hair and eyes though. She looks confused. Obviously, she has no idea who this lady I.

"I don't recognize her sir. I don't know. Why if I may ask." Her small voice echoes in the silent room.

"She doesn't work here?" Renzo questions.

"No sir. Never seen her before." She says with confidence.

"I thought so." Dad and Matteo comments at the same time.

"Fuck." Renzo mutters out.

"What's going on?" She asks. Genuinely confused at all the odd questions.

"She came in here trying to shove that...." Leonardo says while pointing at the dropped syringe on the floor.

"In Lucian's I.V." Vincent finishes.

All sets of eyes are now on that bloody syringe.

"What the hell? He doesn't have medicine due! What is in that syringe?" Delilah rushes out in a frantic.

"I don't know but Val will sure find out. We need some bags if you could bring one, please." Dad tells Delilah with a soft smile.

"Right away sir." Delilah says in a hurry.

Her cheeks now have a faint shade of pink.

What the fuck? Does she have a crush on dad?

"You don't have to call me sir. Lucifer is just fine." Dad tells her.

What the flying ducks in space?!

Gemma:

What the hell did dad just say?! He never lets anyone besides friends and family call him Lucifer. It's always sir or Mr. Rossi.

Never, I mean NEVER Lucifer!

All of us have our mouths gapping open and looking directly at dad like he just said he is Gandalf's long lost brother. Dad wasn't paying attention to the stares. Delilah comes back with several bags and gloves. She hands them to Valley.

"Anything else Lucian?" She asks my brother.

Lucian shakes his head no and Delilah immediately turns on her heel and leaves.

Valley puts on the gloves and places the syringe that is full of some clear liquid in one of the many bags Delilah has given him. He carefully ties the bag up and places it into another bag. He dumps out contents of what is in the paper bag that Maximus had earlier, out on the table.

"Hey! That is my food man!" Maxi groans out.

Valley pays Maxi no mind and places the plastic bags into Maxi's now empty paper bag. He proceeds to roll the top of the bag down and places it in Leonardo's backpack.

Why LeeLee has a backpack is beyond me.

"Matteo I need you to take Leonardo and Vincent home." Dad proceeds to talk.

However, the two interrupts dad with their complaints.

"What!" Leonardo whines.

"No way in hell!" Vincent all but yells out.

"Did you see that lady? She's out to do harm." They both yell out.

"Make sure they grab their laptops and equipment. Valentino ride with them and go home grab whatever you think the lab here won't have. When you all get back I need the boys to figure out who she was. Valentino will be next door in the lab figuring out what is in that syringe. Do I make myself clear?" Dad finishes up. Completely ignoring the previous complaints.

"Alright guys you heard dad. Hop to it. Let's go." Matty's voice rang out.

The three brothers didn't give Matty even time to speak really before they were walking out the door. Valley was already halfway out the door when he started to speak. I have no idea why Matty even said any of that. It was pointless because they were already sprinting out the damn door. Matty follows suit before dad and Ren stops him.

"Gun?" Ren asks.

"Are you armed?" Dad questions.

"When do I ever leave home without it?" Matty counters.

He lifts his shirt up and you can see his gun tucked neatly into the waistband of his pants. I mean I never seen Matty without his gun. So, why they asked was a brainless question.

I swear he sleeps with that thing tucked in his pants. Like come on now.

I watch as Matty too disappears out the door moments after the other three.

"Are any of you armed?" Dad questions while quirking his eyebrow up.

Juls lifts his pants leg up and reveals his knife. Once his pants leg is down; he lifts his shirt to reveal his gun. Niko also raises his shirt to show he too is armed. Gi has his holster on his belt revealed as Maximus and Alonzo lift their pants leg up to reveal their guns on their ankle holster. Ren didn't even bother showing that he is armed. He's the don of our mafia. Of course he wouldn't leave home without his babies.

"Good." Dad says with a nod.

"Actually hold up." Juls says.

He digs into the backpack he has brought with him and I see the gun I used forever ago in it. He walks over with that said gun and places it on my lap.

"Just in case." Juls answers with a sly smile.

"If we aren't in this room with you. You'll need that for protection. Even if there's guards outside. If she comes in shoot first ask questions last." Ren says.

"Shoot her in a non fatal way Gem." Dad speaks up.

"We're not going home tonight. We will all be in our unoccupied rooms in this section. You, however, never seem to leave his side. That's just for precaution. We need to find out who she is and what she's up too. We capture her ALIVE.... And question her." Niko suddenly says.

He made sure to point out alive. I mean it is directed towards me I think. Because he is looking directly at me when he said alive.

Thirty minutes later, our lost four brothers come back into the room. Each are carrying all sorts of equipment and belongings they needed. I watch as half of it is placed in the room while Matty and Valley walk off out the door with the other half.

We all watch as Vinny and LeeLee import her photo off their phones onto their laptops. All you could hear was their equipments making all sorts of noises; while their fingertips tapped on the keys. You can hear their grumbling in the room. What feels like forever, which is only maybe two hours, Valley comes busting through the room.

"Succinylcholine!"

All heads turn towards our once mute brother who is practically yelling.

"What?" Renzo says confused.

"Succinylcholine!" Valley yells again.

That's when it hit me.

The syringe!

"What is that?!" I ask with fear in my voice.

"Succinylcholine is in the neuromuscular blocker family of medications and is of the depolarizing type. It works by blocking the action of acetylcholine on skeletal muscles." He begins to explain.

"What the hell did he just say?" Alonzo and Maxi asks while looking at each other confused.

"Fuck." Matteo mumbles.

"In other words she was going to kill him by stopping his breathing. They use it sometimes for anesthesia. They use it for relaxation of the muscles to do a tracheotomy." Valley finally says.

The room is filled with several gasps.

"Where is that bitch?!" Dad asks.

"Where are you two on identifying this wrench?" Renzo questions.

Both of my brothers turn around and have a sinister smile on their wicked faces.

"In about..."

"Now."

We hear their laptops bing.

"How do they do that?!" Gianni mumbles out.

"Talk to us. What does it say?." Matteo impatiently asks.

"I want to know what's so great about trying to kill Lucian. Why Lucian out of all of us? Hell! He isn't even the cutest one. Nor is he the one anyone should go after! You would think someone would target Renzo or Valley. Hell! Me for example I am the hottest of the group!" Maximus whines out his complaints and questions.

"In your dreams! Your face looks like a bear sat on it. Afterwards a giraffe shit on it." Lucian counters with a smirk.

This has the room going from talking to abruptly stopping to dying from laughter.

"All jokes aside. What do you two have?" Dad asks Vinny and LeeLee.

"Trained assassin."

Excuse the ducks out of me. What did Bozos 1 and 2 just say?!
