Chapter 3: A day before Christmas
Veer woke up the next day, refreshed not only due to the sleep, but also because he felt like he has just received a new life. He kissed Bani's forehead and left to make her some breakfast and plans for the day. Bani woke up some time later. She blushed hard as the events of the previous night came to her. She smacked her head for being so shameless.
B: Uff Bani, when did you become this shameless woman? God knows what had gotten into me last night.
V: Iska answer mujhe pata hai sweetheart, is hisab se mai God hua? (I know the answer, so am I god now?)
B: ugh! Veeranshu! I did not mean that...
Veer let out a laugh and Bani stared at her handsome husband. He looked so effortlessly sexy even in his pyjamas. He bought a tray to her- pancakes, fruits and hot coffee. He pecked her lips and enjoyed seeing desire flare in her eyes.
V: Good morning sweetheart. Breakfast?
B: Good morning.
She smiled and said that she will freshen up first. She got up to go when she winced.
B: Ouch! Veer!
V: What happened? Are you okay?
He immediately came to her side, worry etched on his face.
B: Vo, I- I can't feel my legs.
Veer smirked, slightly proud of himself. Bani noticed this and threw a cushion to his face.
B: Wipe that grin off your face mister, it makes you look stupid. Yahan mai pain me you aur tum (I am in pain here and you!)
V: Happens love, I am just to have satisfied you...
B: Who said anything about that?
V: Is it? I am okay with going another round...then we shall see (mimics her) Oh! Veeranshu...
Bani's face got redder than a beetroot as she limped away to the washroom. She came a while later and they both had their breakfast.
V: Chalo Bani (Come Bani)
B: Where?
V: Jokes apart, I know what will sooth my gharwali (wife)
Veer took her to the washroom and got rid of her bathrobe and kissed her lips lovingly.
V: I am sorry you are in pain but I assure you that this will be the last time I caused you any..
Bani smiled and held his face. He picked her up and lowered her into the bathtub filled with hot water. Bani moaned as the warm water soothed her tense muscles. Veer added some bath salts and oils for foam and aroma. He kissed her forehead and Bani relaxed back enjoying the water ease her soreness away. He turned to leave when Bani held his hand.
B: Save water?
Veer smiled at her silly excuse but got in with her. He sat behind her and spread his legs. She fit right into him like a jigsaw puzzle and they lay there, her back to his chest. Bani signed happily as he began massaging her shoulders and body, slowly. She turned and held his face, pecking his entire face, her way of saying that she appreciates him. They enjoyed their rest of the morning lazily.
....................
It was afternoon and Bani had made them a good lunch.
B: Veer, hum kya poora time cabin me rahenge? Lagta hi nahi hai hum kahin bahar aye hai...Ye to hum India me bhi ghoom lete..(Veer, will we stay in the cabin the entire time? I don't feel we are on a foreign land, this could have happened in India only)
V: I know Bani, don't worry, I have today planned for us. We can go to the local markets, Christmas is tomorrow so they are beautiful today.
B: I have never celebrated Christmas! Can we do it tomorrow. Can we get a tree? Please.
She started to clap her hands and look at him with doe like eyes. Veer smiled at her childishness, a side of her she hides away deep inside her.
V: Okay Bani, We have a few days here so let me plan accordingly. (thinks: I will give you the best Christmas my love)

Veer and Bani planned their days and decided that they will celebrate their Christmas will great holiday spirit. After lunch, Bani got ready in her black slacks, boots and a cream coat and Veer got into his signature all black look. They decided against calling the cab as Veer took her as closer he could by flying and then they decided to walk from there.
They first got into a shop for Christmas decor and got a lot of decoration ornaments. Bani even found a perfect one for Veer. It was a wooden heart, she got Vani engraved on it by the store keeper when her eyes feel on a wooden bird, it looked so much like a kite, she got it too. Next they got some food items and decoration for the house.
B: Veer! Let us get a tree too..
Veer went to look for a tree when Bani said that she wanted a real tree. They found out that there is place where they can buy real tree when Bani excused herself. She wanted buy something for Veer. He took this opportunity to get something for her as well.
..................
B: Do miunte ka bolkr gayi thi, bohot late ho gaya...kahin use shak na ho jaye.. (I said I will be back in two minutes but I have spent more time, hope he doesn't doubt)
Veer was thinking the exact thing. Both felt relieved when the other did not enquire and left to pick their tree.
...................
B: No veer.
V: But-
B: No Veer, I don't like any of them..
She heard an old couple talk.
Woman: you know the true festival spirit is when you fetch your own tree, we used to do that when we were young..
Bani turned to Veer expectantly.
B: Veer! Let's fetch our perfect tree from the woods!
.....................
Veer and Bani spend the evening in the woods, looking for a perfect tree. They spent a lot of time when they came across a beautiful small tree. It was cute and they loved it. Veer took the axe they found in the cabin and started cutting the tree when he felt something hit his back. He ignored it and felt another one and turned. Bani was declaring a snow fight!
V: Bani!
She let out a soft giggle and Veer melted. He faked his frown and got down, pretending to pick the axe but instead picked a handful of snow and threw it had her and she dodged it. She stick out her tongue at him and ran away. The woods nearby echoed with their laughter as they chased each other and played with the snow. A while later, they laid down on the cold snow, exhausted.
B: (panting) Veeranshu!
V: (panting) Sweetheart!
B: It is my first time seeing the snow.
V: I have never really enjoyed it like it, in that sense it is first for me too.
They smiled and Veer got up when Bani pulled him back. Let's do it like the movies! She said and started waving her hands dramatically making snow angles. Veer rolled his eyes at this child's play but made one too nonetheless.
They then left with their tree for the cabin and kept everything organized in the living space and headed out for dinner after changing out of their now wet coats. Bani wore a deep brown one and Veer wore a grey coat with black scarf. They headed to a cozy diner and had their meals. They talked about themselves, their likes, dislikes, memories. Veer discovered Bani obsession with romcoms, her love for animals and Bani discovered Veer's school stories. They felt closer with each passing second as they headed back to the cabin in the cab. Bani put her head on his shoulder, looking out at the bright decorations and Veer drew soothing circles on her hands.
They reached the cabin and got to work. Veer covered the outside with fairy lights and Bani hung the wreath at the door. She even got out gnomes, elves and reindeers, all dressed in Christmas colors and set them up near the door. They headed back in and Veer set up the tree, straight at the corner and Bani arranged candles, red socks and other decoration around the living space. They then set up the ornaments together, Veer smiled and pecked her lips when she showed him the Vani ornament she bought. After a few hours of hard work, they stood admiring their work.
V: Now, how about an early present...(Veer rubbed his hands and held her waist)
Bani saw mischief in his eyes and pulled away.
Veer grinned and took his phone out to take a picture of the decor and hit send to their family group when he heard a whistle. Veer turned to see Bani had gotten rid of her sweater and boots. She then pulled off her shirt and threw it at him. He caught it with one hand, his senses awakened. She laughed at his expression and ran away.
B: You'll have to take the early present yourself if you want it.
Veer chased behind her and caught her soon. He smacked his lips to her parted ones. They helped each other out of their clothes, kissing each and every part of their beloved's body. Veer set her on the thick rug and put her legs on his bare, strong shoulder and kissed her shin, gently handling her like she was a porcelain doll.
B: I am not fragile Veer. I appreciate you care for me but I am fine now..
Veer put a firm hand on her face, indirectly asking for permission. Bani smiled and bought her lips to his fingers but bit them instead of a peck.
B: Ravish me Veeranshu!
And that is exactly what he did.
She closed her eyes when he entered her in one swift motion and thrust deep into her. Her body hummed in desire, her inner goddess hissing in joy as she felt each powerful stroke. They made wild, passionate love.
After a few rounds, Veer gathered her in his arms and covered them with a blanket that was on the sofa. He pecked her sweaty forehead and held her close when they heard fireworks.
V: Merry Christmas Sweetheart.
B: Merry Christmas Gharwale (She kissed his cheeks)
They hugged each other close.
...............
Somewhere in the woods, a set of eyes, studied the cabin.
Stranger: Merry Christmas! Sweeeetheart.
................
Xoxo
So, who do you think is the stranger?
