"Veeranshu, Stop calling me Sweetheart...."

Veer was roaming around Bani and and disturbing her. Bani was going out for office, and he continuously irritated her by calling her Sweetheart. Finally, Bani thought to give him a warning to stop him. So she told him sternly to stop calling her with that name.

V: Okk Sweetheart... *cheeky smile*

Bani couldn't help but smile.

V: Ahaaa...Hasii...Hasii to Phasiii... *smirking smile*

B: *fake glare* Shut up...

V: *putting finger on his mouth* Okk...

B: *coming closer to him* Suno, sham ko free rehna...

V: *smirk* Kyu?!...

B: Tab pata chal jayega...Bye....

Saying this, Bani left smiling. Veer kept on smiling for sometime and then left for office.

Bani was in her cabin when Dheeraj barged in. She was startled.

B: Abbe kya hai?! Aise kaun andar ata hai?!... Haa, tod de darwaza...

DD: Tu chup rahegi kuch der?!.. Mujhe andar aana tha, main aa gaya... Aur darwaza toot gaya to tu Boss ko bol dena, wo laga denge... Tere liye to jaan bhi de denge shayad...

B: *laugh* Kuch bhi... Tu bol kya bolna hai.... Coffee piyega?!...

DD: Nahi, roz roz coffee peene se neend nahi aata hai... Tu sun, aj Shraddha aayegi yaha, after the office.. Gussa hai mujhse... Mana de na use...

B: Oh God.. Saale tune firse kya kiya?!..

DD: Maine kya kiya?!... Hey bhagwan, tujhe mujhpar bharosa nahi hai?!...

B: *rolling her eyes* Tujhse zyada Shrads pe bharosa hai....

DD: Ok Ok...Huh... Zyada kuch nahi, maine keh diya use ki wo pagal hai aur main use tolerate karta hoon.. Mazak kar raha tha, Babydoll bura mangayi.. Main chala... Yaad rakhna, mana lena use...

B: Tere harkato ke wajah se main fasti hoon... Gawar Idiot... Mana lungi, jaa ab...

Dheeraj became happy and left from her cabin.

After the office hours, Bani went out and saw Dheeraj and Shraddha waiting outside the premises. Shrads was not even looking at DD.

B: Kya hua Shrads?!...

SA: Kya hua?!... Iss gadhe se puchh kya hua... Main pagal hoon, ye mujhe jhelta hain... Yahi kaha isne kal...

DD: Babydoll, I was just joking... You know how much I love you....

SA: Aur jhoot mat bolo.. I know I am just a burden on you.. *looking down with tears*

Bani saw her crying and hugged her tightly.

B: Awe meri Jaan... Tu ro kyu rahi hai?! Wo bhi iss gadhe ke wajah se?!...
*glaring DD*

DD: *shocked at Bani's change of team* Huh..what...

B: Shut up DD... Aisa mazak koi karta hai?... Rula diya na bechari ko... *to Shrads* Jaan, look at me... You trust me right?!....You know I won't lie to you in this situation?!...

SA: *nods*

B: To sun meri baat... Mujhe pata hai you know him since your college days, but I know him after joining this company... Pehle pehle jab ye join kiya tha yaha, din raat teri baat karta tha... Tujhe isne meri cabin mein to laya, par apne cabin mein nahi leke gaya, kyunki apne cabin mein ek wall hai jaha sirf teri pictures hai... He calls that wall as his motivation point... You are his everything... Har larki flirt karti hai iske saath, par ye kisiko dekhta bhi nahi hai... Haa mere se flirt karta hai, because he knows that behen to bhao waise bhi nahi deti, flirt karne se bhi nahi degi..*laugh*...Aur sach kahu to, we both know who tolerates who... He is lucky that you are tolerating his madness for the last 7 years.. He himself agrees to that... Mazak kar raha tha DD, Jaan.... Stop crying... Zyada aisa mazak kare to pel dena ise, par rona nahi...

SA: *laugh with tears* Thanksss Jaan..

Shraddha hugged Bani, and then went to DD. They both were looking at each other with tears, but not doing anything.

B: Abbe oye, kya hogaya?!... Hug karne ke liye kya muhrat nikalwau?!... Come on guys....

DD laughed and hugged Shraddha like his life depended on that hug, and then kissed on her forehead.

He then went to Bani and lifted her up while hugging and swirled her. Bani giggled. He kept her down, kissed on her head, and said,

DD: I love you Jaaaan....

B: I love you too...*hugging him again*

SA: But Jaan, I love you more...

B: *going to her* I love you the most..
Ok Guys, ab main chalti hoon... I am already late... Already he is waiting, aur der hogayi to kaand ho jayegi...

DD/SA: *teasing* Ohhoooooo...

B: *blush* Shut up... Byeeee...

She bid bye to them, sat in her car and started for her destination.

Veer was waiting for the evening to come soon. He was excited. As soon as his works got over, he decided to surprise Bani by picking her up from her office. He took the car keys, and went to surprise Bani.

He reached her office premises amd was going to get out of the car,  when a scene broke his heart into million pieces. He saw a man hugging Bani and swirling her around, and Bani giggling. A girl was also standing there and seeing them with a smile, maybe Bani's friend. The man then kept her down and kissed her on her head, and told "I love you Jaan" to her. As his car was closer to them, he could hear everything. He heard Bani replying "I love you too" and hugging him again.

As soon as he saw it, his past came running into his mind. His eyes became red with anger. He didn't wait for a moment and drove away from there at a high speed.

Veeranshu was waiting for Bani impatiently in the hall. Suddenly, the door opened and she entered smiling. She was on a call, talking sweetly to someone.

B: Sahil tu samajhta kyun nahi?!.. Iss Sunday main busy thi, isliye nahi aa payi...

S: .............

B: Haa ok...Pakka... I love you Darlo... Muaahh... Bye...

She cut the call smiling and then looked at Veer. She was confused seeing him so angry. She was going to ask him, but before that he stood up from the sofa and started advancing towards her while clapping slowly.

V: Wah Bani Sharma wah... Maine tumhe kya socha tha, aur tum kya nikli.....

B: Kya hu

V: *cutting her in the middle* *shout* Shut up, just Shut up.... Kuch mat bolna tum... Aj main bolunga....

He came to her and grabbed her shoulders fiercely.

V: Sharam nahi aati tumhe?!... *leaving her shoulders and mock laughing* Arre main bhi kitna pagal hoon... Sharam kaise aayegi?!... Besharam logo ko sharam thori aati hai?!... Arre jo larki do logo ke saath affair chala rahi hai, use sharam kis baat ki... Haina?!... Dekha maine aj office ke bahar, kya chal raha tha tumhare aur uss aadmi ke beech... 'Jaan' bulati hai na wo tumhe?...Jaan... Aur fir, ghar aate waqt ek aur aadmi... Kya naam tha, Sahil... Sunday ko uske paas hi jaati ho, ab samajh aaya... Darlo, right?!.. Arre ye sab thi to mujhse shaadi kyun ki?!.... Ohhh sorry sorry, shadi to karni hi thi.. Paisa jo chahiye.... "Thudddddd...", a tight slap landed on his cheeks. He looked up overcoming the shock, and saw a furious Bani looking at him with swollen eyes. He was going to shout when Bani stopped him.

B: *shout being agitated* Basssss.... Ab aur nahi... Bohot bol liya aapne... Ab main bolungi mujhe jo bolna hai... Chillana mujhe bhi aati hai Mr. Singhania... Aap kya samajh rakhe hai apne aap ko?! Aap jo chahe wo bolenge aur main chupchap sunti rahungi???.... Ye kisi aur ke sath karna, mere sath nahi... Maine aj tak sab kuch saha hai, par iska matlab ye nahi ke maine aapko permission de diya hai mere character aur self-respect pe ungli uthane ki... Kisiko koi haq nahi banta meri character ko lekar sawaal karne ki... I don't like to prove myself, but aj jab baat meri swabhiman ka hai, to aj main saabit karke rahungi kaun sahi hai aur kaun galat hai...

Waha office ke samne kya dekha apne?! Pata bhi hai wo kaun hai?! Dheeraj hai wo... Meri bhai jaisa hai... Waha apne ek aur larki ko to dekhe honge right?! Girlfriend hai wo Dheeraj ki, Shraddha... Dheeraj ko jante hai ap?! Nahi jante... To suniye, 8 saal ka tha wo jab uska behen mar gayi, heart disease ke wajah se... Wo muskurana bhul gaya tha.. Shraddha se mila college mein, sirf uske sath baat karta tha.. Usse pyaar hogaya, aur dono relationship mein hai tabse.. Mujhse mila office ke interview mein... Mujhme usko apni behen dikhayi di... For the first time, Shraddha ke alawa kisi aur ke samne muskuraya tha wo usdin... Tabse behen manta hai mujhe wo, Jaan bulata hai mujhe... Shadi mein nahi aa paya, varna saare bhaiyo ke kam wo karta, mujhe piri mein bhi wohi uthata... Ek bhai behen ke rishte mein daag chhirak diya aj apne... Wah Mr. Singhania Wah... Veer was shocked with the revelation.

V: Bani...

B: Abhi tak meri baat khatam nahi hui hai... Ab aate hai next baat par.. Sahil... Chhiiiii.. Mujhe sochne mein bhi sharam aa rahi hai.. Rukiye ek min...

Bani video called Sahil, but muted herself and closed her video so that only Sahil's video is seen. After Sahil picked up the call, she showed it to Veer.

B: Dekhiye ise...Ye hai Sahil... Ek 7 saal ka bachha... Yahi jaati hoon main Sunday ko.. Apne maa se puchh lena, unhe pata hai... Darlo bulata hai ye mujhe, aur main ise... Aj main apko yahi le jane wali thi, par apne sab kuch bigaad diya..

She unmuted the call and told Sahil that she will talk to him later. She then cut the call.
Veer was drowning in a pool of guilt.

B: Dekh liya sab kuch?!.. Oh nahi, abhi to baki hai... Gold-digger hoon main... Right...Main hi to gold-digger hoon, paiso ke liye shadi ki thi maine apse.. Ek baat bataiye, kitne paise liye hai apse aj tak?!.. Hisaab karke bataiye... Nahi, aap ek kam kijiye, ekbar electricity office mein ja kar enquiry kijiye about this month's bill of this Farmhouse.. Maine pay ki hai... Itne dino se jo cooking ho rahi hai, groceries main la rahi hoon... Meri engineering ki padhai scholarship se ki thi maine, ta ki Maa- Papa ki paisa na kharch ho... Par nahi, apne kya kiya, seedha aake mujhpar ilzaam laga diya... Mujhe kayi saare naamo se bulaliye... Pehchante kitna hai aap mujhe jo aapko itna yakeen hogaya ki main aisi hoon?!.. Main bhi to apko pehchanti nahi thi, par fir bhi mujhe yakeen tha ki aap ek achhe aadmi hai...Vishwas tha aap pe, aankh band karke... Par aapne kabhi mujhpar vishwas hi nahi kiya Mr. Singhania...

Aapne usdin sahi kaha tha, aap sach mein villain hai... Maine galat samjhi thi, aap achhe nahi hai, bohot hi zyada bure hai.... Ghatiya insaan hai aap ek.. Mujhe ghinn aa rahi hai aapse baat karne mein... Aapne aj mujhe apni khud ki nazro mein gira diya, Mr. Singhania... You know what, mujhe aapse kuch sunna hi nahi hai aur... Main chahti to yahan se abhi ke abhi chali jati, par maine Mumma se vada kiya tha ki 2 mahine ke liye main chance dungi iss rishte ko... Main aj kehti hoon, 2 mahine complete hote hi main yahan se chali jaungi... Aur ha, cook ko aane bolne ki koi zarurat nahi hai..Main hi cook karungi, jaise maine apse vada kiya tha...Kyunki main marte dam tak apna vada nibhati hoon... Aur haa, ap shadi ke time bhi mere liye stranger nahi the, par aj aap mere liye ek stranger ban gaye hai....I am done with you... I don't want to fuckin' see you dammit...

Bani went upstairs to her room and closed the door. She sat there itself and started crying.

"Kyu kiya tumne aisa Veeranshu..kyu... Kya galti thi meri?!... Tumko shaq hua tha to mujhse aakar baat kar lete, puchh lete mujhse... Tum mujhe jaante nahi ho achhe se, isliye shaq hona galat nahi hai... Par, tumne to ilzaam laga diya... Mujhe characterless keh diya... Main kya itni buri hoon?!.. Aj main tumhe le jane wali thi mere saare favourite places pe.. Surprise dene wali thi tumhe... Aur tumne kya kiya, mujhe apne nazro par gira diya... Ye sochte the tum mere baare mein?!... Kya humare beech jo tha, sab jhooth tha?!...Pichhle do dino mein jo hum dono ke beech hua, sab galat tha?!.. Kyuuuuuu kiya tumne aisaaaa....."

On the other hand, after Bani left, Veer sat on the ground lifelessly. Tears started coming out of his eyes...

"Nice Veer...Very nice.. Ek larki ko tod diya tune...bikhar diya use... Kitna kuch kiya usne tere liye, aur tune badle mein kya diya?! Blame... Hazaro ilzaam.... Chhiii... Apne past ke wajah se apne present ko kharab kar diya tune apne hi haathon se... I hate myself... Chhiiii...."

Veer got up after sometime and went to his room. He entered the room and saw the Guitar kept at one corner. He went near it and took it out from the bag. He remembered how Bani was excited to show him the Guitar. He went in the balcony, and started playing it, after 3 long years.

Bani could hear the song from her room. She realised it was Veer singing, and started reminiscing all their memories and cried. Veer also sang while remembering their moments and cried.

Main taan jiya na mara...

Veer went downstairs and took out the dinner from the fridge. He heated it in the microwave, and served it in two plates. He covered her plate with a lid, and then took the two plates to his room.

He wrote on a sticky note, "Mujhpe gussa rehna jayas hai, rehlo... Par khane pe gussa mat dikhao.. Plz ye kha lena..." and pasted it on the lid of her plate. He then went and kept the plate outside her room, and knocked the door and left.

Before having his dinner, he called his parents and lied to them that Bani would be very busy for the next few weeks and so they shouldn't disturb her. He also told them to inform everyone else in the family, and also not tell Bani that he had told them to do so.

After completing his dinner, he went down to keep his plate in the kitchen. He saw another empty plate already kept at the sink, but the covered plate that he had given to Bani was kept on the kitchen slab. And the note was torn into pieces and kept there. She had not eaten the food he gave, she took her own food and ate it.... Veer smiled sadly.

"I deserve it...", he thought and went to sleep with a pool of guilt in his mind.
