Emergency
A violent fight broke out at Naag Lok. Bani felt the urgency, her warriors' thoughts reaching her mind in a rush. Mayuri and the shapeshifting peacocks had come to attack and the entire naag lok was in chaos.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Bani gathered herself and dashed out, not even bothering to wake Veer. His face was peaceful in sleep, and she couldn’t bring herself to disturb him, knowing how hard he worked the night before. She knew she had to act fast.
The battle at Naag Lok raged on for hours. Bani’s heart pounded in her chest as she struck down the peacocks one by one, her power surging through her as if the very land was responding to her command. Each strike was precise, each movement a battle against time. Her thoughts were clouded with worry for Veer, but she couldn’t stop now—too many lives were at stake.
But in Singhania Mansion, a dark turn of events was unfolding. Jai snuck into Veer’s room with quiet steps, his face twisted in satisfaction. He reached for the poison—the Naagfani venom that only existed in Naag Lok. He smeared it across Veer’s skin, knowing it would soon take its toll. Veer, deeply asleep, remained unaware of the danger creeping up on him. Jai left without a sound, certain the poison would do its work.
The sun began to rise, and Balwant walked into Veer’s room, expecting to see his son ready to make him understand that staying with Aadinaagin is not safe.Instead, his eyes widened in horror as he saw Veer’s body turning shade of blue, his veins visible beneath the skin. He knelt beside him, his heart racing. Naagfani venom. The only source of this poison was Naag Lok. He stood abruptly, his mind racing—Bani, the Aadinaagin.
"She did this," Balwant whispered, a bitter taste in his mouth. He was no fool. He gathered his family at once, and to find an antidote. His cousins flipped through ancient texts, Shukla pretending to be helpful, but nothing seemed to work.
Meanwhile, Bani arrived at her room, exhausted from the long battle, her thoughts still on Veer. As soon as she entered, she was struck by the sight of the chaos in front of her. Balwant, furious, stood over Veer’s pale form, his voice a low growl.
"You did this to my son, didn’t you?" His eyes blazed with rage.
Bani froze, her chest tightening. "I didn’t do this," she said, her voice steady but her insides screaming in panic as she kept looking at Veeranshu. "But I can save him."
"Save him? You think I’ll trust you? You—" Balwant’s voice cracked as he took a threatening step toward her. "Get out of my house. Now.I will kill you."
Bani’s heart raced, but she kept her cool. She could not lose him. Not after everything. "I will save him, Balwant Singhania. Not because you demand it, but because I care for him."
Her words struck deep. Balwant glared at her, eyes burning with suspicion. "Promise me. By your gods. Promise you won’t harm him."
She swallowed, her throat dry. "I promise."
.He leaned closer, his tone threatening. "Find the antidote, Aadinaagin. Or I will make sure you regret this forever and also your people."
Bani nodded, "I’ll save him. Not because you threaten me, but because I care for him."
With that, she turned and ran from the room.
At the Naag temple, Bani searched frantically for an antidote, but it was gone—someone had already taken it. Desperation clawed at her, but she refused to give in. She turned to the pandit, her voice breaking, "What can I do? Please… help me."
The pandit’s gaze softened. "There is only one way, Aadinaagin. Use your venom. It will cure any poison."
Bani felt the weight of his words press down on her. Her own venom, the same venom that could destroy, could now save. With a heavy heart, she left for Singhania Mansion, knowing that time was running out.
She returned to Veer’s room to find his cousins still there, sitting anxiously by his side. "Leave. Now," Bani commanded, her voice sharp.
They hesitated, but she didn’t give them a chance to argue. "Leave. Now," she repeated, her gaze cold, filled with the authority she had inherited from her past.
With reluctance, they stepped outside, and Bani locked the door behind them. Her gaze fell on Veer, pale and weak, his chest rising and falling in shallow breaths. She walked toward him, trembling. Her hands shook as she bit her wrist, letting her venom mix with her blood. She leaned down, pressing her wrist to his lips, letting the venom flow into him.
Moments passed, and slowly, Veer’s body began to regain its color. His skin warmed, and the blue tint faded. His breathing steadied. Bani watched, her heart in her throat. She had done it.
Just then, Veer’s cousins and Balwant rushed back into the room. The tension in the air was unbearable. Then, to everyone’s relief, Veer’s eyes fluttered open.
Balwant stepped forward, his gaze still cold, but there was a flicker of something else in his eyes. "I still don’t trust you," he spat at Bani. "Don’t try anything."
Veer chuckled, his voice rough but teasing. "Dad, stop teasing Aadinaagin. You’re not safe, you know."
Balwant and the cousins exchanged uneasy glances, then left the room, but Veer’s teasing smile quickly faded when he turned to Bani.
Before she could step back, he suddenly pulled her into a tight hug. She froze, startled by the sudden contact, but her arms instinctively wrapped around him. She held him close, her heart hammering in her chest. The fear of losing him had been too much. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes, but she fought them back.
Veer pulled away just slightly, his voice playful but filled with warmth. "Maybe drinking poison was what I needed to get a hug from you," he said, his chuckle soft and full of affection.
Bani looked up at him, and in that moment, everything changed. She realized, with overwhelming clarity, that she loved him. The truth had always been there, buried beneath layers of doubt and fear, but now it was undeniable. She didn’t need to fight it anymore.
"I’ll save you every time," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Veer’s smile softened, his eyes locking onto hers. "And I’ll love you forever," he replied, his tone deep and full of promise.
In that moment, the world around them seemed to fade, leaving only the two of them. Bani knew her heart belonged to him. No matter what obstacles lay ahead, they would face them together.
