Luckily for Taehyung, Jungkook picked up right on the first ring.

"Hello? Taehyung? Are you okay? Are you guys in the forest yet? It's all going fine, right?" The vampire took a deep breath. Hearing the other's voice, he realized how tense he had just been. He breathed in and out deeply. He couldn't afford to be too loud, werewolves had too sharp hearing so it was only a matter of time until wolf-Hoseok found him.

Had he fully transformed yet? He hoped not. He had no idea it would go this fast!

"W-Well... About that...," he muttered quietly, hearing the other vampire inhale sharply.
"Did something happen? Are you okay? Is he okay? Do you need help?," he immediately started asking, as expected from him.

"I... I don't know." His voice dropped to a mere whisper.
"There was a bit of a delay. I tried to explain things to him but he didn't listen and we had quite the dispute. And now... he's going crazy and I'm hiding in the bathroom. I don't know how much self-control he has at the moment." Jungkook gasped.

"Fucking hell, this is worse than I thought. I'm coming right away. Don't move." Taehyung immediately protested, not liking the idea of an already vulnerable Hoseok seeing his dead roommate walk around perfectly normally.
"No, it's okay, I can handle it! All our efforts to hide your secret will go to waste, what kind of sense does that make?"

"It doesn't matter. You need help and that's what's important here. Stay right there, I'll be with you soon!" With these words, Jungkook hung up which made Taehyung hiss in frustration.
"No, Jungkook! Jungkook?," he exclaimed a little loudly, immediately cutting off his own breath after that.

He regretted slightly raising his voice right after, hearing complete silence from the other side of the door.
But not for long.

Just a few moments after that, there was a loud clatter and a splash, signalling that the noodle pot had been swept off the hot stove and were now trashing the floor, the sound of it making him flinch and crawl even further back into the little corner he was curled against. Had wolf-Hoseok found him already?

All of a sudden, there were several strange sounds at once. A shout, something else falling to the floor, pats and a very wolfish-sounding howl. Taehyung knew exactly what that meant.
Not only would the wolf be able to sense him through his hearing, he could easily smell a vampire from miles away.

It also meant Hoseok wasn't a human anymore, he had fully transformed into a wolf. A soulless, viscious wolf set out to kill its enemies without showing any mercy.

It didn't take long for the wolf to sense a vampire in its presence, probably due to the scent. Within half a minute, Taehyung could hear paws tap along the kitchen tiles and a low growl from the newly transformed werewolf. It was only a matter of time until he would figure out that there was a vampire hiding inside the bathroom.

The paws moved towards Jungkook's bedroom, then Hoseok's bedroom. There, they lingered for a few moments silently, the wolf sniffing and huffing quietly and letting out a confused whine before continuing to sneak around the apartment. It was hungry for blood, Taehyung could tell that much. It wanted to spill vampire blood.

The blood rushed loudly in his veins and his heartrate picked up immensely. Yes, for the first time in centuries, the vampire felt fear. Actual fear. He did not miss it.
He was an expert at running from wolves. But given the fact that he was trapped in a tiny dorm room, and to make matters worse, a bathroom, he didn't know if he would make it like this.

Every five seconds or so, his phone vibrated against his back pocket which most definetely did not help the anxiety he felt in this particular situation. The wolf seemed to have sensed a presence in the bathroom too, as it was slowly setting one paw in front of the other and sniffing the area around it again. Taehyung was literally doomed.

His mind wanted nothing more badly than to pull out his phone and call Jungkook again, hear his voice and be assured that help was on the way but his limbs remained frozen, he held his breath and didn't dare pull a single muscle and by the minute his fear grew by the minute.

And all of a sudden, there was a loud roar. Wolf-Hoseok seemed to have found out that his target was hiding out in the bathroom, with sweaty palms and eyes shut in terror.
"Fuck this!," he whispered inaudibly. "I'm completely fucking trapped! If Jungkook doesn't come soon, it's goodbye for me and my pathetic life."

The wolf's paws were starting to pound against the bathroom door, its claws scratching the nicely polished wood and turning the surface into an ugly, demolished disaster. The sound of it made the redhead flinch and attempt hiding even further in the back, although that was not possible.
"Absolute. Worst. Fucking. Moment. Of. My. Life. I am not dying in a below-average dorm bathroom with a broken showerhead."

Desperately, he tried to focus his full attention on the actually broken showerhead in order to not completely panic, his hands starting to shake and overwhelming nausea torturing him as Hoseok's paws kept hitting the door loudly. It seemed that this was the end, the wolf would demolish him before Jungkook or any sort of help could even enter the building.
Could this actually be?

Despite his fear, he somehow gathered the courage to put his hand into his back pocket and pull out his mobile phone slowly, with shaky hands, and unlock the device with his breath hitching.

And exactly in that moment, the door literally broke open and fell off the frame, crashing onto the floor with a loud thud.
And now, stalking towards him, was a huge, brown wolf with malicious yellow eyes staring him down menacingly.

"No, not now!," he cursed, looking around him in order to find any weapons that might come in handy. A toothbrush, a hair dryer and hair gel was what he ended up finding on first glance.
In other words, not very helpful.

"Okay, listen to me!," he exclaimed. "Hoseok, you don't wanna do this. This is Taehyung. Kim Taehyung, your friend. Kind of. Someone you get along with well. You do not want to kill me so please, you don't need to do this."
He tried triggering the wolf's humanity although he knew perfectly well that in this state, it was impossible for a wolf to regain his human emotions.

The wolf came a step closer.
"Go away! Shoo, bad dog! You won't kill me, you won't!" He held his phone in front of him like a sword, shutting his eyes and feeling so terrified he might just start to cry.

He then tried to think about possible options rationally. He could try vampire-speeding out of the bathroom. But vampire-speeding in such a small space? Plus, wolves could be nearly as fast as vampires! This would either save his life or end it. He had to try it, it was his only option!

Taking a deep breath, Taehyung closed his eyes and tried to use his super-speed to run past the wolf but unfortunately got stuck and bumped against the sink. And before he could try again, the wolf was alerted that his prey was attempting to run and growled loudly, lunging at the vampire and digging his claws into the soft skin once again.

The redhead hissed in pain, trying to pry the claws off his arm but failing to do so. And then, the absolute worst that he could imagine happened.

Hoseok opened his mouth, revealing big and sharp teeth, and bit right into his shoulder.

For a second, Taehyung felt absolutely limp. The bite didn't even hurt, no, it was as if his senses had been shut off for a while. The huge canines digging into his right shoulder, the moment replayed again and again inside his head.

Just a moment later, he regained his senses and before the wolf could bite him again, he pushed him off with all his strength and ran towards the front door, feeling dizzy and seeing everything blurred.
He wasn't dumb, he knew what this meant. Was there even a point of continuing to fight? Wouldn't it be better to completely give himself to the wolf, let him entirely rip him to shreds?

No. No. He still had a few weeks left, he had to make the best of it. He had to at least try to win this fight. When he saw the wolf exiting the bathroom to follow him, he vampire-speeded into the kitchen and grabbed the largest knife he could find, clasping it tightly in front of his chest to protect himself.

The wolf howled again, making him shudder and clasp the knife even harder. He couldn't afford running out of the dorm, the wolf would break open the door, follow him and hurt other people along with him.

And then, for the second time this night, the wolf found him and glared him down with those viscious, yellow eyes.

And just as Hoseok was about to run towards him to fight him again, the front door opened and in came the allegedly dead, second owner of this dorm room.

Yes, it was practically impossible for wolves to regain their humanity in a transformed state. However, upon seeing his long lost roommate, the wolf seemed to hesitate for just a millisecond. A single millisecond, but one that definetely spoke volumes.

As the wolf-part took over him again, Hoseok charged at the two vampires but this time, they were together and had weapons to defend themselves. While Taehyung swung his kitchen knife in a threatening manner, Jungkook pulled something out of his pocket that neither Taehyung nor the wolf had expected.

A syringe, filled with a brown liquid. And the ravenette did not hesitate to stab the little needle into the wolf's fur, the animal immediately going limp with a disappointed whine and losing consciousness within two seconds.

"I'm so sorry, Hoseok. It's my fault this happened to you," the vampire whispered, stroking the unconscious wolf's fur softly and looking down on him with a sad glint in his eyes.

But then, he didn't waste another second to stand up and check up on a shocked Taehyung who was still holding the knife in front of him in defense. "I'm so sorry I'm so late, I had to ask Mina about weapons that you can use against werewolves and since Chaeyoung is transforming too, it was hard to talk to her and I had to search the syringe in her bedroom and stuff. Are you okay? He's unconscious, you don't need this anymore."

He put his arm around the redhead, who now slowly put down his knife and breathed in and out deeply. "Are you okay?," the younger repeated. "You look pale."
Taehyung gulped and tried to get his brain to function properly before nodding with a hushed smile. "Of course. It's just been so long since I've been with a werewolf, guess I was a bit shocked."

Nodding back in relief, Jungkook patted his shoulder softly. Unfortunately, this was the bitten shoulder and the pain rushing through Taehyung's body immediately made him flinch and jerk back. Jungkook's eyebrows furrowed.
"Wait. Something's wrong. You got hurt, didn't you?" When the other didn't respond immediately, the ravenette did not hesitate to check the bright red bite mark below his lover's shirt, gasping as he did so.

"You-- You got--" Taehyung shook his head and slipped his shirt over the mark again, purposefully not meeting the other's eye. "It's okay. I still have a few weeks."

Unfortunately, this did not ease Jungkook. With eyes wide in horror, he gazed upon Taehyung's now covered shoulder with such deep concern and worry that Taehyung had never seen before, one that made his heart clench painfully.

"I promise," he whispered, leaning their foreheads against each other. "I promise that things will be fine. Let's just get out of here, okay?"

Ignoring the slight sting seeping through his entire shoulder area, the redhead smiled, grabbed Jungkook's hand and pulled him out of the door.
