51: Full Moon Night
It was only about two weeks after that until the full moon would rise again. Coincidentally, it was Jungkook's one month-death anniversary.
The day before that, Jungkook and Taehyung sat in Taehyung's bedroom and thought of what to do that day. Neither of them had the heart to just ignore what happened and simply stay inside the comfortable mansion. Hoseok would be struggling with his first transformation and they knew that.
The little girl Ahjin had stayed for a few more days by her own request, having loved the mansion very dearly and only leaving when Taehyung and Jungkook had promised that she could visit every once in a while. She also agreed on using more informal language on the boys, eventually growing very fond of them as it made her feel like they were actually siblings or cousins.
Farewell had been especially hard for Mina and Chaeyoung. The two of them had a lot of fun with the little girl, doing things like baking, playing dress-up games and reading fairytales for her. To them, it had actually felt like they had a daughter and to Ahjin, it had felt like she actually had someone who took care of her out of pure love.
Of course, all of them couldn't wait to see each other again.
"So, I have an idea. I could visit Hoseok and try to explain things to him. I'll try to bring him into the forest. I just really hope he'll listen," Taehyung suggested. Jungkook, who sat opposite of him, shook his head in a grave manner.
"But you know how dangerous it is for vampires to be around werewolves, especially during their first transformation. I can't just let you go alone! Let me go with you," the ravenette protested, taking his hand and pulling it onto his own lap.
"But he'll be upset, he still thinks he killed you. He'll feel deceived, confused and I can assure you he'll have some sort of meltdown. That will only make him more dangerous, of course we need to let him know you're alive soon but not today. Trust me, I got this." Taehyung squeezed his hand softly.
"Are you sure you'll be able to get to the forest in time? And what if you get hurt there?" Jungkook was still being relentless, the other sighing and pinching his cheek softly.
"Don't worry, Jungkookie. I'm a big boy and I can take care of myself. As much as I appreciate your concern, forests are my second home and I know what to do. It'd be different in a tiny little apartment like yours, but running from werewolves in the wild is part of my expertise."
Jungkook still looked sceptical but nodded a little, seeming to give in gradually. "Okay," he spoke softly, kissing his hand gently. "I trust you to handle this by yourself. But call me if something does happen and promise me you'll let me come next time."
Taehyung leaned his forehead against the other vampire's. "Of course," he assured. "Everything will be just fine, don't you worry. And soon we'll tell him about you. Very soon." The two of them rubbed their noses against each other.

The redheaded vampire pressed the little doorbell slightly hesitantly, feeling a little unsettled.
He checked the time on his phone. It was about seven PM, more than enough time to get into the forest safely.
However, his tightly planned schedule got corrupted when he saw Hoseok wearing nothing but a bathrobe open the door, his hair damp and indicating that he had just been in the shower.
"Oh, hi. Anything you need? I was just about to dry my hair, change and have some noodles. Should I boil some for you, too?" The redhead shook his head hastily, feeling that things were threatening to not go by plan. What if Hoseok took too long to dry his hair?
"Listen, I really need to talk to you about something. It's urgent and I need you to listen. But don't be alarmed, it's nothing bad!," he tried to reassure the suddenly panicked-looking Hoseok, the latter nodding in confusion.
"Okay, can you wait until I'm done? I think I know what this is about."
Relief shot through the vampire. So maybe he did know already? "Be quick. I'll wait until you're done." And while the brunette disappeared in the bathroom again and the loud hair drier rang in Taehyung's ears infernally, the redhead paced through the kitchen impatiently, feeling extremely anxious about his plan. What if Hoseok didn't understand how dire the situation was? What if he thought Taehyung was crazy? Who wouldn't think Taehyung was crazy?
He decided to text Jungkook, who must already be worrying about how it was going, and tell him about the slight postponal.
You
Hoseok's still drying his hair so I need to wait a little.
But don't worry, it'll be fine!

Taehyung laid his phone aside sighing and listening to the still running hair drier with the blood in his veins seeming to pulsate more and more every passing second. How could it take someone that long to dry their hair?
About quarter an hour later, Hoseok seemed to have finally finished and came out of the bathroom, the sound of the sudden silence startling the vampire and snapping him out of his anxious daze.
"Okay, I'm back. I just need to find the noodles and then I'll be back with you. It's really brave of you to do this, by the way." While Hoseok rummaged about the kitchen shelves to find a nice pack of instant noodles, Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows.
Brave? What was he talking about?
After about five more minutes later, the noodles were finally boiling in the pot and the werewolf finally seemed to properly avert his attention to a slightly impatient Taehyung.
"Back to you. This is about Jungkook, right?" The vampire widened his eyes.
"I mean, kinda. Yeah. So you already know?" Hoseok patted his shoulder in a comforting manner, an almost melancholic smile on his face.
"Of course. You can't fool me, I knew about the two of you all along. You tried to hide it, I know. Too bad." Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows.
"So you already know Jungkook's--"
"Your secret boyfriend! Of course. It must be so hard for you. That's why you came over all the time and went into his room, right? To look at his stuff, feel a connection to him even if he's gone. And you even supported me through my grieving. Losing a little brother is also painful for me and it'll leave a scar for eternity, but I can't imagine how heartbreaking it is to lose a boyfr--" The redhead couldn't help but interrupt him.
"Wait, you think I'm here because of..." He shook his head in disbelief.
"Of course! You miss him and it's hard for you to move on. And that's okay, that's how being human is sometimes. People come and go, we all experience loss. But what's important for you to know, and for me, is that Jungkook would want you to be happy and think about him every now and then, but not obsess over his being dead. Because--"
"Woah, woah, woah. No. I'm here to tell you that you're a fucking werewolf."
There was a pin-drop silence. For the next few moments, Hoseok simply gaped at him with his jaw dropped. A significant while passed before he finally spoke again.
"You know, this really isn't funny. You aren't the only one who suffered, you know? I've dealt with some rough stuff, too. That includes weird hallucinations and memory blanks. So I really don't think it's nice of you to play games with my sanity." Taehyung internally groaned. How was he supposed to explain this?!
"Hoseok. I'm not joking. You're a werewolf. And I'm a vampire, for the record. I don't know how to prove it to you. Yes, werewolves exist. Yes, your family has been carrying around the werewolf curses for decades over decades. And yes, to trigger the curse you have to kill someone. And on the full moon, you'll transform." Again, Hoseok was silent. After a while, he scoffed in disbelief.
"I thought the time for Halloween pranks was over already," he mumbled, massaging his temples. "I don't know what to say. There's no way this is an actual thing. Werewolves." Taehyung sighed impatiently.
"Well, it is! Supernatural beings exist! Vampires, werewolves, witches. There are probably even other things I don't know about in other parts of the world: pixies or mermaids or whatever the fuck. The point is, supernaturality isn't a joke or a fairytale. It is very real and you're part of it, Hoseok." To make his point clear, he grabbed the brunette's arm softly, the latter frantically shaking his head.
"Get away from me, you lunatic! I'm not part of your fantasy world! You're demented, alright?!," he shouted.
"And you're not? After you hit Jungkook with your car, you didn't feel like you also killed a part of yourself? You didn't feel like you were transforming, you didn't feel like your bones were... regenerating, somehow? I know another werewolf girl, she can help you with further transformations. But for today, you need to listen to me so you and others are safe, okay?," the vampire exclaimed.
"The only reason I felt like that is because I actually did kill a part of myself! Jungkook was like my little brother, a part of me and someone who was around all the fucking time! And I really don't know what to think about the fact that he was dating a red-headed lunatic when he was alive!" Hoseok looked furious all of a sudden, like he was close to lashing out. And given the fact that it was a literal full moon night, those weren't good circumstances.
"Okay, okay, calm down!," Taehyung tried to ease him. "I know and I understand your pain. But please, you have to believe me. You're in danger because it's a full moon." Now, the brunette looked thoroughly confused.
"So?"
The vampire groaned. This was not as easy as he had imagined. Looking out of the window, he could also see the sky turn darker and darker. What had previously been a vibrant orange was now turning into a gloomy mixture of navy and dark purple.
"You're gonna transform into a fucking wolf. You need to go into the woods to protect yourself and the ones around you. Werewolf transformations are nothing to joke about." To his utter dismay, Hoseok scoffed in disbelief.
"There you go again with your werewolf bullshit! You aren't orchestrating me into going into the freaking woods. Who knows what sort of shit you're up to?"
"Nothing!," Taehyung exclaimed. "I'm literally risking my life to help you! And you need to hurry, the moon could rise any minute now!"
"Shut up, you're giving me a headache." For the moment, the still boiling noodles were entirely forgotten.
It was pointless. Hoseok wouldn't listen! Despite the two of them arguing back and forth and Taehyung trying to convince him to believe him and follow his advice, the werewolf remained reluctant.
And just like this, the sky reached its full darkness, stars appearing left and right. And Taehyung had never been less delighted to see a clear starry night. Because it meant the moon was now rising, too. And Hoseok's transformation was approaching.
"Can't you just leave for to-- Ow! What the fuck?!" The werewolf grabbed his own elbow with his other hand, hissing in pain. His elbow had just randomly cracked!
Taehyung gasped. Oh no.
This was an official sign, a sign that the moon had risen.
"Get out," he demanded, grabbing the brunette's elbow. "You need to get out now!" Said brunette groaned in response.
"Ow, what the hell? No, I'm not! The stove is still on, my noodles!" But Taehyung was relentless.
"Never mind your fucking noodles, this is serious!," he exclaimed. Hoseok gave a shout of agony as his other elbow cracked along with parts of his spine. Out of shock, the vampire let go of his arm. "Hoseok, please get out! It's dangerous!"
"What the fuck? What the fuck is happening to me?!," the werewolf screamed, feeling his every muscle tingle and all of his bones hurt. He fell onto all fours against his will, as if there was a magnetic force was pulling him onto the ground.
Taehyung bent over him in utter concern. "Hoseok? Hoseok!" Hoseok looked up to him, and Taehyung was forced to jerk back as he made eye contact with the other and he felt a pair of bright yellow eyes stared back at him.
So this probably meant that his plan had ultimately failed.
And from then, things happened very quickly.
The vampire caught the hint that he was currently the one endangered almost immediately. Simultaneously, Hoseok jumped up and lunged at him, taking a swing and attacking his upper arm aggressively. And not wasting another thought, Taehyung took advantage of his vampire speed and locked himself into the bathroom while hissing in pain.
His upper arm was bleeding, his smooth skin scarred by a few scratches. Luckily it was not a bite, or he might aswell greet death like an old friend. But what would happen now? It was only a matter of time until the wolf would find him! And who knew what might happen then?
He decided to do the only thing he could think of.
