Eighteen
Gerard P.O.V
We sat together in the common room, he still held on to my arm. I didn't object, his warm skin continued to burn me- in a nice way. He must've thought that I had something wrong with me; I had everything wrong with me.
"Are you happy?" I asked, I was staring out of the window at the trees; they were swaying in the breeze.
"What do you mean?" He asked, looking up at me. He watched my eyes flit from side to side. I was concentrating on one tree in particular.
"Are you happy?" I asked again, hoping that he'd say yes. That was all that I wanted for him, because he deserved that happiness. He smiled, answering my question instantly.
The common room was mostly vacant as Frank and I were skipping classes. Personally, I didn't need education- I knew most of the things that they would try to teach me. But Frank needed it.
"Why are we skipping class?" I asked with a frown, looking down at him. He rolled his eyes, looking away from me. I smiled, grabbing his chin, turning his head back towards me.
"Because I don't like them, and I know that you don't either." He said simply, adjusting himself on the chair so that he was leaning on me.
Slow, loud footsteps filled the almost empty room. The people on the opposite side of the room were transfixed by their phones, they didn't hear a thing.
Max, the idiot that I had thrown out of a bathroom on my first day at this school, slowly making an appearance around a row of lockers.
"Look who it is." He snickered to himself. Frank froze, attempting to sit up. I grabbed hold of his arm, coaxing him back to his position. He had no reason to be ashamed, and neither did I.
"Wouldn't it be funny if the entire town knew that you emos were fucking each other? What a scandal that would be."
I was trying my best to breath properly, trying my best not to launch myself at him, ripping his throat out. What a 'scandal' that would be. However, I knew that I'd get too carried away, I'd drain him. Leave him an empty shell, lying on the floor. I wanted him to suffer; the way that he made Frank suffer.
I held myself back, thinking about how badly Frank would hold me in his heart if I 'accidentally' killed a man right in front of his eyes.
"Don't say anything, he'll get bored." I whispered under my breath- we didn't need the trouble.
"No, I won't get bored. It's people like you two, that make me want to throw up. It's ungodly, it's disgusting." He spat at me, his spit landing centimetres away from my feet. Frank knew that I was struggling, allowing himself to move out of my way. He didn't want to get hurt, and he knew that I didn't want to hurt him.
"Now, you really want to be careful with people like us. It's a dangerous road to go down, Maxie," My voice had become ice cold and venomous, stinging my throat as the words danced out of my open mouth. Max scoffed at my audacity to challenge him, he believed that he was better than me. What he had failed to remember, was our very first encounter. That night where he had hurt my Frankie, how I had thrown him and his little friends on their asses.
"It's not very nice to be disrespectful, didn't your parents ever teach you about treating people who are different to you just as equally?" I squared up to him, his cheap deodorant failing to cover up his leaking sweat. He didn't answer my question, he merely stood still, staring straight into my eyes. He was afraid, but was refusing to show it.
I cocked my head to the side, he ground his teeth together. I heard him building up spit in his mouth; my hand shot to his throat. He panicked, flailing his arms. I wasn't choking him, he was overreacting.
"You're not an animal Max, don't spit at me. Hear me out." I chuckled, finding his terror amusing. I saw Frank's reflection in the window; the look in his eyes told me that he too was enjoying watching his bully cower in fear. It was a complete role reversal.
"I don't understand why you're so jealous, Max. You seem to have a number of girls snapping at your heels, why can't you just leave Frank? Or is it Frank that you want?" I asked, he laughed in my face, my grip on his throat grew a little tighter- stopping his noise.
"That's not right." He choked, an evil smile trying to escape from his lips. I wouldn't allow that. My stomach growled, teeth trying to grow. I bit the insides of my mouth, raising Max a little higher in the air. I held him there with one tightly-clenched fist.
"I don't have time for you man." I laughed, throwing him. He slid across the floor, slamming against the row of lockers he had originally appeared from behind. He groaned, standing up. He spat at me again- I flipped him off.
Frank seemed to have enjoyed the show, he was giggling.
