7. Confessing their love
Legolas awoke with a gasp and shot up into a sitting position. Aragorn was startled awake and fell back from his kneeled position in shock.
"Legolas?" He whispered and kneeled up once more.
"How?.."
Legolas gritted his teeth as the sword scraped against his heart, and groaned as he pulled it out and let it slip from his bloodied hands.
Aragorn looked at the sword as it hit the floor, dumbstruck.
Legolas grabbed the man's hands tightly in his, and tried to smile calmly.
"He didn't use wood. You need wood to kill a vampire. I'm fine...unfortunately." His smile died at the lasts word, and he sighed.
Then he laughed humourlessly.
"I guess he wasn't around a century ago."
Aragorn opened his mouth, before he closed it again. Then he remembered what Legolas said before he 'died'.
"Do you love me Legolas?" He asked, nothing but kindness in his grey eyes.
Legolas insecure met his eyes, and Aragorn saw that he fought the urge to bite his lip as he was on his way a few times. He sighed and looked down, before he met Aragorn's gaze again.
"Yes I do..I think I have for a long time."
Aragorn spun around as he heard voices right outside of the door, and ran to close it. He mustn't show anyone Legolas was still alive.
"We need to talk outside." He said and leaned against the door.
"Don't worry, we'll have time to talk, but first we need to get you out of here."
Legolas took a deep breath and nodded. He rose from the bed and approached his love.
He looked at Aragorn, and the man backed away from the door. Nodding his thanks Legolas slipped outside. He met one of the guards, who gasped loudly.
Legolas remembered that he could compel him, and he did. He grasped his shoulders in a firm grip and looked him deep in the eyes.
"You will not scream."
The guard relaxed and Legolas continued, relieved it worked.
"You will go tell everyone in Minas Tirith that I am dead. You'll tell them the vampire situation is over."
"I'll tell them it's over."
"Good."
The guard turned around and left without another word.
Legolas looked back at Aragorn, who stood against the doorframe. He looked amazed, and sad.
Legolas turned to leave, when Aragorn's voice stopped him.
"I love you Legolas."
Legolas felt himself froze, and he stared at the opposite wall for a few moments. Slowly, he turned around to face the man.
Aragorn looked distressed.
"I'm sorry." Legolas whispered when he found his voice.
"I don't want you to see me like this..."
"I want to help you."
Aragorn said and took a few steps forward, making Legolas take one back.
"Please let me help you Legolas."
"Aragorn, I killed Eowyn. My best friend! I nearly killed Arwén...I can't be saved."
Aragorn watched as Legolas turned around, and found a shovel leaning against the wall. He grabbed it and smashed it over his knee, making it sharp. He dropped the other half and rose the one he held, ready to stab himself in the heart.
Aragorn ran forward when Legolas closed his eyes and tried to grasp it from him, making him cut himself in the stomach. He gasped in pain as the sharp stake pierced his skin and backed away, cradling his stomach gently.
Legolas looked panicked, and dropped the stake in shock. Aragorn backed away until he hit the wall, looking scared. He watched the blood flow, and looked up at Legolas in shock.
"You need to stitch that.." Legolas said in a shaky voice as he tried to control his hunger.
"I'm so sorry...this is the second time you tried to save me. You need to stop."
Aragorn reached out with his other hand, but Legolas backed away. His eyes began to turn red, and he grew panicked. The blood tempted him.
"I am so sorry...I love you."
Aragorn didn't have time to say anything before Legolas was gone. He didn't even have time to blink. He blinked away his tears and began to run after. He didn't care about a cut. He had a friend to help, maybe even more than a friend. He would not give up on him.
Legolas ran into the forest, crying loudly as he smashed branches out of his way. He came across a blood spot, and remembered Eowyn. Crying harder he ran past it, further into the forest. He couldn't go home to his father. He wouldn't return to Gondor. He was alone.
Then a voice reminded him he wasn't alone, and he stopped running in fear.
"Aww, you hurt your friend? Feel good doesn't it? Why didn't you feed when he bled?"
Legolas spun around to see the other vampire, smirking at him.
"You'll get used to it. No one wants to be with us. We only have each other. I must say, it's funny to finally have a friend."
Legolas laughed, but his eyes did not sparkle.
"I'll never be your friend."
"You say that now. Don't you remember the taste of human blood? Believe me, the blood will bring you back to The white city."
Legolas turned away, but the vampire was already there.
"Let's go hunt you and me. I know a perfect offer."
"No. Leave me alone." Legolas said as stern as he could.
"You'll regret those words in a few decades."
Legolas stared at him in pure hatred, before the vampire spoke up, smirking.
"Ah, someone is coming. I finally have someone for you to hurt by yourself."
"Who?" Legolas asked in fear.
"Listen."
Legolas concentrated, and heard a voice.
"Legolas!"
He gasped as he recognised the voice, and panic began to rise.
Not him. Not Aragorn. He needed to stop trying to help him.
The vampire tried to catch Legolas gaze, which he desperately dodged. He couldn't be compelled to kill Aragorn.
"Kill him!" The vampire screamed as he realised Legolas knew about the compelling.
"No."
Legolas made the mistake to look up, and the vampire took his chance to compel him.
"Kill him!"
Legolas felt the resistance leave his body, and he felt the hunger rise. Yes he would kill him...
He turned and ran towards the voice in vampire speed, and knocked him against a tree. He smashed his elbows into the wood in each side of the man's face, trapping him.
Aragorn looked in shock at the totally unexpected attack. He saw the fangs too close to his mouth, and stared into Legolas red eyes in fear. He was scared. Legolas could easily kill him.
"Legolas?" He whispered and hesitated, before he rose a hand to gently stroke under Legolas right eye to feel the throbbing veins. Legolas didn't break eye contact, he didn't seem to notice.
Aragorn needed to be quick, Legolas would bite him.
When Legolas opened his mouth to bite down Aragorn grabbed his cheeks and pulled him into a rough kiss, capturing Legolas over lip between his own.
Legolas first tried to pull away, but Aragorn switched the position so he was the one holding Legolas up against a opposite tree. He struggled at first, but Aragorn held into him harder until he finally relaxed and kissed him back.
Sure Legolas was s vampire, but a very new one. Aragorn was still stronger then him.
Aragorn slipped his tongue inside Legolas mouth and licked his teeth gently. He noticed the fangs were gone.
Smiling satisfied into the kiss, he broke it and looked into Legolas eyes at he opened them. They were blue. Legolas looked at him with love in his eyes, and desperately thought about his to express his feelings.
"Aragorn.."
He was silenced by another kiss, , this time more gentle, their lips fitting together perfectly.
Aragorn raised a hand to gently cup Legolas cheek bone, and Legolas lay his hand behind Aragorn's neck, kissing him deeper.
It actually turned him on, being kissed against a tree and it began to grew passionate.
They were interrupted by a call.
"Legolas! Amin feuya ten' lle" (You disgust me)
