Escape

Lucy's POV

I sighed. Well this is the most boring train ride ever. Looks like I have nothing else to do, so I'll tell y'all about me.

My name is Lucy Heartfilia. I am sixteen years old. My favorite color is pink. Does that satisfy you? No? Fiiiine! I'll tell you my backstory then and why I am on this long train ride in the first place.

You see, I grew up in a very rich family. My mother, Lyla, had a rich family business, and my father, Jude, was the president of it. We all lived in a giant mansion sucluded from the world. At least, that's what I thought.

'Never go outside.' That is what I was always told. And, I did. That is, until the day my mother died. That was the day I escaped. I escaped my duties. I escaped my title. I escaped my destiny.

Huh... looking back, I guess I was wrong about that last part. It was because I escaped that I found my true destiny.

But that's for another day. This is the story of how I got to Magnolia, and how that city, and its people, changed my life.

"Good," I whispered to myself after checking my bags once I was on the train. I was close to hyperventilating. I actually did it! I finally ran away from home.

I felt a pain in my chest for remembering why I did it in the first place.

Mom I thought to myself. She died last night, in her sleep. That's when I made the decision to run. Well, not before I packed my stuff.

I left my father there, but I don't really care. He was more of a 'Hi dad' than a 'Yaaayy!!!! Daddy is coming home!', if you know what I mean. He never even remembered my birthday. But mom was... everything to me, the only person I trusted, the only person holding me back.

"Can I sit next to you?" a small voice asked. I looked up to see a fragile girl with glasses and blue hair.

"Sure," I motioned to the seat next to me.

"Hi! My name is Levy! What's yours?" the girl asked after she sat down.

"Lucy," I said, bluntly.

"Lucy is a great name, it fits you!" Man, will this girl get the notion that I don't want to talk?

"So, do you have any books I can borrow? I left mine at home..." She seems nice enough. I grabbed my book bag and rummaged through it to find one of my favorites.

"You like Annabeth Marriña, too?" she questioned when I handed her the book.

"Like her!?" I tried on my best appalled face. "I-I... Love Her!" I could have sworn I saw Levy sigh in relief.

After that, we talked about Mrs. Marriña for a long time.

"So where are you heading?" Levy asked, once there was nothing left to talk about.

"Haven't decided yet," I answered, twirling my long, blonde hair.

She grinned something I never thought possible for a girl like her. It was... malicious. "I have the perfect idea. Why don't you come with me to Magnolia. I know how I could get you into the local high school...

to Fairy Tail!"

A/N: By the way, I don't own FT's original characters, but I do the plot to my story!
