Chapter 3: Trouble in Tokyo part 1
It was around 8 in the morning when Starfire woke up and walked out of her room, heading towards the living room. She spotted Mavis on the couch and on the blankets, sleeping in an awkward position. She giggled and walked over to her, stopping when she was right in front of her. Mavis was snoring a little with her mouth somewhat open, so Starfire decided to do the one thing that would wake anyone up.
"Good Morning Friend Mavis!!" Starfire exclaimed, which got Mavis to wake up and scream in the air before falling to the ground, landing on her butt. She groaned and looked up at Starfire, who was flashing off a very big smile at her.
*Yawns* "Good morning Starfire." Mavis stated as she rubbed her eyes. "Where is everyone else?"
"They are in their rooms, still sleeping. I'm planning on making breakfast for everyone today!" Starfire replied back before pulling out some sort of…. Alien food… out of nowhere. "They are going to love my Glorrk!"
Mavis looked a little disgusted by Starfire's food choice. "Ummm…. I'll pass Starfire. I don't even think I can eat human food either."
"Are you sure friend Mavis? You never tried food." Starfire asked as she flew towards the fridge and came back with a slice of pizza with pepperoni on it. Mavis looked at it in a weird way, not knowing what to do with it.
L
"Ummm…." Mavis muttered out as she reached her hand out and grabbed the slice of pizza by it's crust, feeling how soft the crust was. "It's… soft. Is this how it's supposed to feel?"
"Of course!" Starfire stated as she pulled out another slice of pepperoni pizza. "And here's one for your shadow!" Right on cue, Shadow Mavis came out of Mavis's shadow and politely took the slice of pizza.
"Thanks Starfire." Shadow Mavis exclaimed as she felt how soft the crust of the pizza was as well. Mavis and Shadow Mavis took one look at each other, then one look at Starfire, who had a huge smile on her face. After that, they slowly brought the pizza to their mouths and took a bite. Starfire waited in anticipation as to what Mavis and Shadow Mavis's response would be. And after a few moments, she got one.
"..... It's not bad." Mavis stated as she took another bite. Shadow Mavis nodded and took another bite as well. Starfire smiled in joy as Mavis and Shadow Mavis ended up finishing their slice of pizza. From there, the three of them spotted Raven coming from her room to the kitchen.
"Good morning friend Raven!" Starfire exclaimed as she held up her Glorrk. "Would you like to try some of my Glorrk?"
"Ummm… I'll just drink some tea." Raven told her as she went to make some tea. That was before she got interrupted by Robin.
"No time for tea or breakfast! We got trouble again!" Robin exclaimed as he pulled up a picture of Tokyo, along with a few villains. Right on cue, Beast Boy and Cyborg ended up running out of their rooms to see what was going on. Cyborg went to see what the issue was. Beast Boy? Well… he just went to get something to eat.
"What seems to be the matter friend Robin?" Starfire asked as he pulled up more pictures of the villains.
"There's a group called The League of Villains, and they're causing major damage in Tokyo. Few heroes are there now, but it doesn't seem like they're holding up much longer." Robin explained to them.
"We must head over now. I can feel a lot of heroes losing health, and at a rapid pace." Raven explained as she floated in the air, ready to go.
"Sounds like a job for the Teen Titans!" Cyborg exclaimed as he pumped his fist in the air before bringing it back down. Him and Beast Boy cheered as they all began to pack their things and hop on the plane. Mavis didn’t have much to pack, so she just decided to head out towards the plane on the top of the roof. As soon as she arrived, she took a good whiff of the fresh morning air and looked out at the horizon, seeing the sun rise and shine down on San Francisco. While she was staring at the sun, Raven arrived up on the roof as well and walked right up to Mavis, putting a hand on her shoulder, catching Mavis a little off guard.
“Everything okay?” Raven asked Mavis, who turned around and looked back at the sunrise.
“Yeah, everything’s fine. It’s just… all of this seems so new to me. These new powers, being a new superhero, being on a team and getting some new friends, all of this seemed so weird.” Mavis replied as she looked down at herself before looking up at Raven.
“I know how you feel. With me being half-demon, I didn’t think that I would become a superhero and make some friends. I thought that it was weird as well.” Raven began to explain to her as she pulled down her hood, revealing her short, raven-colored hair, and a small red gem on her forehead. “But then I realized that trying out new things isn’t as bad as it seems.” She turned towards Mavis and gave her a slight smile. “Give being a superhero a shot and see how it is. I’m sure you’ll like it.”
“Thanks Raven. I guess I will give it a shot." Mavis finished off as she gave Raven a surprise hug, though not strong enough to break her spine. She smiled and gave a hug back for half a minute before they broke the hug.
"Now come on. We got a city to save." Raven finished off as she began to head towards the jet. Mavis nodded and followed in pursuit, excited to see how good she can be as a hero. Will she succeed, or will she fail? Only time will tell...
