Chapter 2
____________Your POV_____________
You were sleeping peacefully, until someone started to shook you awake.
"Oi, brat." The voice called out.
You you grummbled as you turned your back on the person.
"Brat, time to get up." The voice said in a more irritated manner.
"Five more minutes." You groaned.
"Tch, its 7:35 a.m., its time to get the fuck up." The voice growled.
That's when it dawned on you.
7:35 a.m.
"Oh shit! I'm late!" You yelled as you jumped off the couch, startling whoever was waking you up.
You looked down to see that Levi was now sitting on the floor.
"Ah, sorry Levi!" You apologized as you dashed off to your room in order to change into your uniform for work.
As soon as you got changed, you popped a piece of bread in the toaster, as you scrambled around the apartment, trying to get ready.
You quickly ran by the toaster, right when the bread popped up.
You quickly grabbed it, and stuffed a corner of it in your mouth as you put your shoes on.
"Make yourself at home, Levi. I'll be back around 6 p.m.!" You yelled as you shut the door behind you.
Leaving a dumbfounded Levi.
You quickly dashed down the street, until you were now at the local convince store.
"Sorry, I'm late!" You shout to your (Best Friend's name), as you rush past.
Suddenly, (he/she) grabbed onto your shoulder.
"(F/N), calm down, your not late." (He/She) said.
"Eh, I'm not?" You question.
"No, don't you remember, you have the day off today, since you took the late shift for the past week." Your friend explained.
You mentally face-palmed.
"So, I have the day off today from work then?" You ask.
"Yes, now go home. Relax, and take a nice warm bath. You need it, after all, you work the hardest here." (B/F) says as (He/She) pats your shoulder, before pushing you out.
"Sorry, for disturbing you then." You apologize as you begin to walk away.
"Its fine, now go home and rest, you haven't had a decent sleep in weeks." You friend says, as (He/She) waves at you.
You wave back, before heading home.
'(B/F) is right, I haven't had a decent sleep, well I do work three jobs at a time, so its rare for me to actually have a free day.' You think to yourself, and before you know it, you in front of you apartment complex.
You make your way up the small flight of stairs, before reaching your apartment door.
You open the door, only to be greeted by a very shocking sight.
Levi is cleaning your apartment, he was wearing a handkerchief around his neck and head.
"Your back so soon, what happened?" Levi asks as he removes the handkerchief covering his mouth.
"Oh, turns out I had the day off." You say as you continue to stare at Levi.
"Tch, what is it, brat?" Levi asks.
Oh, um, I was wondering what you were doing?" You ask as you raise an eyebrow.
"Tch, what does it look like I'm doing, I'm cleaning your filthy apartment." He says as he lifts the handkerchief over his mouth again, before he starts to clean once more.
'Is my apartment that filthy?' You think to yourself as you make your way towards Levi.
"Um, you don't have to do that. If you thought my apartment was that filthy, you could've just told me, and I would've cleaned it up." You say as you reach for a wet rag.
"I wanted to do it, as payment for letting me stay here." Levi says as he snatches the rag from your hands.
You blink in surprise, before you burst out laughing.
"What's so funny?" Levi hissed, and you could've sworn you saw a hint of red on his cheeks.
"N-Nothing, its just nice to have company, that's all." You say in between fits of laughter.
Levi raises an eyebrow at what you said, but brushes it off.
"At least let me help with something." You say to him.
"Tch, fine, go make that noodle stuff from last night. I want that for lunch." He mutters, before continuing to clean.
"Sure thing." You chuckle as you went to the stove to put on some boiling water.
After waiting for a few minutes, the water was boiling.
But, as you went to put the noodles in, you tripped, your hand accidentally knocking the boiling water off the stove.
___________Levi's POV_____________
As I was cleaning, I heard loud noises coming from the kitchen.
Curious, I went in to check on (F/N), and when I went in, what is aw made my eyes widen.
(F/N) was sitting on the floor, boiling water all over her arms and legs.
"Dumbass, what are you doing? You have treat these immediately." I say as I hurriedly picked (F/N) up bridal style, and made my way towards the bathroom, I then turned the faucet on in the bath, setting it to cold, before forcing (F/N) to sit in the cold water, while I start to treat the burns.
That was when I realized something odd.
"Don't you feel this at all? I mean this has to hurt." I say to her.
"Oh, um, no I can't really feel pain." She says as she scratches the back of her head.
"What?" I ask.
"Its a very rare disease. Its when the pain receptors in the brain don't properly work, so no matter what I do, I can't feel pain." She explains.
"I see." Was all I could say.
"Ah, but its not like I can't feel at all. I can still feel if I'm wounded, I just can't feel the pain." She hurriedly explains.
I raise an eyebrow as I ask "What do you mean by that?"
"Well, whenever I get hurt, I can't feel the pain, but I feel a slight pressure as to where I'm hurt. Ah, but that's not a very good explaination is it?" She says as she puts her pointer finger and thumb on her chin, as she tries to think of a better way of explaining things.
"Tch, don't worry too much about it. I understand what your trying to say." I say as I run the cold water over her burns, which was turning her (Skin Colour) skin red.
"Thank you, Levi." I hear (F/N) say as she smiles.
I look at her in surprise.
'That's a first. Being thanked by a human.' I think.
"What?" She asks.
"Tch, odd woman." I mutter as I go to grab the first aid kit she has.
I put some ointment on the wounds, before I wrap them up.
That was when I hear an odd growling sound.
I look up at (F/N), only to find her having a red face.
"I-I guess I was hungry, too." She stutters, as she gives a nervous laugh.
"Tch, after I wrap up these burns, I'll be the one making those noodles." I say as I finish wrapping up the burns.
"Yeah, sorry for the inconvenience." She mutters.
"Tch, your not an inconvenience, you just fucking clumsy." I say as I walk out.
I hear her shout out a 'Hey!' as I walk out, and I let out an inaudible chuckle.
'Such a strange woman.' I think as I head off towards the kitchen, in order to make our lunches.
