Chapter twelve

You woke up on your bed, feeling the familiar scent of your flowered scented pillows you sat up. You looked around to discover you were alone. You sighed once then got up, sliding your feet into your slippers and going to grab your brush; getting ready to start brushing your hair.

You brushed your hair through quickly and stood up putting your brush on the side table where it had always laid.

You walked to the door and then realised you needed to get changed.

After putting on your sweater and knee-length skirt along with your little heeled sandals. You opened the door and walked out to the living room.

Walking inside you see Kaname and Zero sitting down on the chairs opposite each other glaring at each other. You sigh and start walking inside, stopping at the coffee table in front of them.

"What happened this time?" You ask them.

They both looked at each other and turned to you, "Well, this scoundrel tried to hit me!"

Kaname turned around to Zero, "Who're you calling a scoundrel, you level E?"

Hurt by his harsh words towards Zero you glared at him, "Kaname!" You scolded, he looked over at you and shrugged. "What's gotten into you Oni-sama!?" You scolded again and hit the back of his head, making him reach up to rub it.

"Yeah, what has gotten into you Kuran?" Zero taunted, and you shot a warning look to him.

"What's up with you Yuuki? What's happened to make you so angry? Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed sweetie?" He asked, reaching out to cup your cheek, but you step away before he could cup your cheek. As you stepped away, his hand outlined your arm and gently took your hand in his. Not being able to help it, you could feel yourself blushing so you looked away putting your over hand over your cheeks. "You're so cute when you do that Yuuki, you know I can't help myself when you do that." He says, pulling you towards him gently. You unfortunately - not expecting to be pulled - fell right onto Kaname that you sat bridal style in his arms.

"Kiryuu, do you mind to leave us for a while? I need to talk to Yuuki, whilst she can't run away." Kaname asked, it made you feel uneasy and you looked at Zero with pleading eyes for him to stay.

"I'd rather stay due to the worried look in her eyes." He pointed out, you sighed a bit of a sigh before turning to Kaname, who was looking down at you with soft eyes.

"I only want to talk Yuuki, it's nothing to be worried about sweetie." Kaname says, playing with the ends of your hair. It gave some sort of comfort to you but it wasn't enough, you was still scared.

... Wait, scared? I'm feeling scared? Am I scared of Kaname...? I can't be.. Though at some point he will kill me if he really wants all the purebloods to be gone of this world.. You thought to yourself.

As you snapped into reality you heard the door close. You snapped your head toward the door and then to Zero's empty seat. Of course, he'd taken the moment you were in thought - distracted from what was going on around you - to take off, either that or Kaname had said something to him to get him to move.

You eyed Kaname suspiciously.

"Yuuki, it's impolite to stare." He said with ease, not even looking down at you. You guessed he didn't want to scare you been so his eyes were glued on the door and his head was resting on his hand like usual.

"Sorry Oni-sama.." You apologized.

"Yuuki, do you know why I wanted to talk to you alone?"

"No.."

"I want you to be comfortable around me, I don't want you to think I'm a threat to you. I would never ever hurt you." He said now looking down at you, it made you look at the ground uneasily.

"I know Oni-sama but saying you want all the pureblood line ended... It makes me uneasy cause if that's truly what you want then you'll have to kill me. Quite frankly, I don't want to fight you Kaname... but if that's the right thing to do and if I have to do it then I will.. and I hope you don't forget it." You tell him, he softly puts his finger under your chin pushing your head upwards to face him.

"You know I wouldn't hurt you. Once I become the new parent of the hunters association you're free to do whatever, even go off with Zero, I'll still be in your heart and be with you in soul." He states confidently.

"You don't get it though Kaname!" You suddenly yell and struggle to get up and out of his grip. He looks at you shocked and concerned. "You just don't get it do you?!"

"Don't get what?" He asks worried.

"If you die, that's half of my hunger left... I have to feed from both you and Zero to be satisfied as greedy as that sounds! I love you both and if one of you dies then that'll mean I'll never be satisfied again for my thirst will not be quenched!" You yell at him.

"Yuuki... You will be able to quench your first with Zero alone. You see when the one you love dies that you have to drink from and you have another person to drink from, it'll be Zero's job to be the person to quench your first. As someone dies from your appetite your thirst knows it cannot be done and therefore is died down to just that one person. And if you find it too painful for you, Zero can erase your memory of me-" Kaname tells you but you cut him off by slapping him across his face.

You pull away your hand to hover over your neck, your eyes tearing up from his horrible and painful explanation. He looks at you shocked, wide eyed and then hurt.

"Why're you so keen to hurt me?" You sob, turning around and running towards the door. You open the door and see Zero outside waiting on the wall. You look at him and he looks at you, then looks inside the room at Kaname with hard eyes.

You walk off and hear Zero say faintly, "I told you she wouldn't take it well."
