Chapter Twenty

~Your POV~

You started to wake up hearing the murmurs of voices. You blinked a couple of times adjusting to the light and your surroundings. You instantly knew you weren't in your room where Quentin had kept you. Things started to come flooding in as you started sitting up. The voices stopped instantly.

You looked around but it wasn't long before you were pulled into someone's arms. You recognised the scent immediately and hugged them back. Your arms were around his neck as he held you close to him.

"I was so worried when I saw you laying here unconscious. What happened?" You heard Kaname ask you pulling away from you, sitting on the edge of the sofa.

"I was at the hideout and Yuuki was there. After explaining that she had traded herself for me... She stabbed me with a needle. No doubt Quentin made her do it to prove her loyalty to him." You explained to him and Kaname's eyes widened.

"She didn't say anything about doing that." Kaname looked to Kaien his voice full of concern.

"We need to get Takuma to trace the jewelery." Kaien said as Zero let out a sigh,  he was obviously starting to worry about Yuuki.

"Trace the jewelery?" Both you and Zero  questioned as Kaname and Kaien looked at each other.

"Yes, Yuuki came up with a plan with Takuma. They would put a piece of Jewellery on her that we'd be able to track and she would get herself taken by Quentin. It's all part of her plan-"

"Tell me it isn't tracked by a spell." You stopped Kaname latching onto his forearms. He looked at you stunned.

"Yeah, it is." He confirmed and you shook your head.

"You can't trace her. Quentin has his hideout cloaked, it hides it from spells too. That's why you couldn't trace me. Kaname she's just walked into the lions den willingly thinking she was a step ahead but Quentin is always one or two steps ahead!" You panicked and the concern set on his face.

"Nonetheless, we will try to track her-"

"Did you not just hear what she said? Yuuki is gone now! Elissa told me some of the things she went through there! Yuuki is strong but she will eventually break! We have to get her back now!"

"Zero, calm down. I'm just as concerned for Yuuki if not more. We are going to do all we can for her but you have to continue being a pawn in Quentin's game. As long as he has one of them, he's got the upper hand and you both will not betray either of them. Elissa, you can come with me to the association. We'll try and figure out a way to remove that bracelet without triggering the process to move faster." Your father explained and you felt relieved. Seeing as your father would be helping you out of the bracelet it made you have hope. If anyone could do it, it had to be your father. He was one of the associations top hunters.

You walked inside the association with your father. Zero had been summoned to the Senate's building by Quentin. It made you a little anxious, what if he provoked Zero and he attacked Quentin? With Quentin's new pureblood status you knew he would take advantage of that.

"Kaien Cross, what an unexpected delight. How can we help?" A woman walked up to you both and you stated at her. She was a beautiful woman.

"We need to access the archives." He stated and she nodded. She looked to you and looked back at Kaien.

"Is this one of your daughters?" She asked and you nodded. She smiled and extended her hand out to you and you shook it, "I'm Tara, nice to meet you..."

"Elissa." You smiled and she nodded. Kaien looked between the two of you smiling.

"Usually vampires aren't allowed in the archives but been so you're Kaien's daughter I'll make an exception." She winked at you and you chuckled.

"Thank you." You smiled and she escorted you both to a room with big doors. She opened the door, the smell of blood instantly hitting you.

Kaien cleared his throat staring at you, "Elissa, control yourself." He stated and you blinked at him as he nodded. Your eyes must have been glowing bright red. You cleared your own throat and walked inside with Kaien and Tara.

"Alright, here you are. Anything you particularly need?" Tara asked and you looked at Kaien who picked your hand up and showed her the bracelet.

"Know anything about hunter relics?" He asked with hard eyes and she looked at him with soft sad eyes.

"Not a lot, but I'll help you find what I can." Tara sighed as she walked off towards some bookcases. You followed her going to help with whatever books she picked up.

"How long has it been attached to you?" She asked going up on the ladder as Kaien was looking in another bookcase.

"A day I think."

She passed a few books down to you from the ladder. You grabbed them and placed them on the table, "Depending on the host's will, it can take a week or two to get into effect. So here's the big question Elissa, how strong is your will?" She asked as she took a book and walked back down the ladders. You were stuck in thought.

"I think my will is strong." You narrowed your eyes at her, she raised an eyebrow at you.

"You think? Okay, let's get Kaien's opinion. Kaien! Come over here a second!" She called out as Kaien looked over and wandered over. He looked to you and Tara, "How strong is Elissa's will?"

He stared at you before giving a small smile, "Her will is strong. She's one of the strongest women I know." He told her and she nodded.

"That's good. It'll take about a week and a half to two weeks for the bracelet to be in full effect. Elissa you're strong, but you will eventually submit to the bracelet if we don't get it off you. Who put it on you?" She asked and you looked to your father.

"Her cousin." Your dad stated as you remained quiet. She looked cautiously at you as you hadn't answered.

"Her cousin? Is it part of some sick joke?" She scoffed in disbelief.

"Something like that." You said quietly, she turned to you after that.

"Do you know what he wanted the bracelet on you for?" She asked and you shook your head no.

"I have a suspicion I'm going to end up as a puppet for him, but he even said that wasn't what he had in store for me... So no, I have no idea." You explained and she started to look inside the books. Kaien looked at you with unsettled eyes. You knew this was just as hard for him as for you. You decided to give him a little hug in which he hugged you back tightly. "I'm going to fight this thing Father. It's not taking me down easily, I promise you." You whispered to him.

"I know sweetie, I know." He said and you could tell he holding the tears back, as his voice was on the verge of cracking.

You both looked to Tara and helped search through the books. Not long after you took a break and started roaming through the library archive. A few books then fell of the shelf and you went to pick them up when you felt something. You gasped as you looked down and saw the bracelet glowing. You gripped onto your arm as you started having visions run through your head. Your hands then gripped your head.

"Very well, you're loyalty evidently lies with me. You're not at all like your sister. I enjoyed breaking her."

"I told you that I wouldn't run when we made this deal. It doesn't mean I don't like what you make me do."

"Don't worry doll, we'll have some fun soon. I'll be back later, if you have any escape attempts it won't be hard for me to punish you. Remember that, I have eyes and ears here when I'm not here."

"I'll be here.."

Hearing Quentin and Yuuki's voices in your head with the visions of the two talking made you confused beyond belief. You had no idea why you were seeing this, but they didn't stop causing your knees to crumble below you as you hit the floor.

"Ah, Zero you're here! Have a seat I want to have a chat!"

"Whatever. If you hurt her I'll kill you Quentin. You promised not to hurt Elissa if we played along with this game of yours and yet you did it anyway! Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you right now."

"Because you won't know where to find Yuuki. But my god, does Elissa realise how in love you are with her?"

"She's Kaname's girl.. I don't need her to realise that."

"But if she did? Whose to say she might not he his?"

"What are you getting at?!"

"You'll see soon enough."

"Get out of my head!" You screamed and soon enough arms were around you. You heard your fathers hushed tone.

"Calm down Elissa you're alright. You're safe." He whispered to you calming you down. Tara watched the whole scene staring at the glowing bracelet. It stopped glowing and your breathing came to its normal pace.

You sat in your fathers arms for a few minutes, "What was in your head?" Your father whispered.

"It was the bracelet... it was glowing," Tara stated and ran off. She shortly came back with a book and showed it to you and Kaien. "It's already starting to torment her. It says here it's usually a week before it starts up... but it's been a day. Quentin has to have spelled it's process to speed up."

"Do you know of a way to get it off her?" Kaien held you protectively as you just listened to them.

"No, not yet. It won't be long before I find it. I think it's in this book." Tara explained and kaien nodded.

"Thank you Tara, for helping us." Kaien smiled softly at her and you looked at the way he looked at her. You smiled to yourself when you realised what you saw.

"You'd do the same for me." She nodded giving a smile back and you stood up dusting yourself off.

"I think I'm going to get some air." You stated and Kaien stared as you started walking away. You heard footsteps and looked to the side of you, your father was walking next to you.

"I don't feel comfortable with you going alone with what just happened, so I'm coming with you." Kaien told you and you nodded.

"Alright that gives us time to talk about you and Tara." You gave a cheeky smile as his eyes widened a little. You both stepped out of the associations front doors and the air hit you causing you to smile contently.

"What about me and Tara?" Your father asked you and you rolled your eyes at him.

"Oh come on father, you're obviously in love with her. I saw the way you looked at her." You told him giggling a little as he tensed up.

"I- I don't know what you're talking about!" He claimed in denial as you laughed at him.

"Sure, just ask her out already. You deserve to be happy." You told him and he looked at you with a small smile.

"You're sure you're going to be okay with it?" He asked and you nodded.

"Yes. I'll give you a few minutes alone with her before I come back in." You smiled as he disappeared back inside. You waited outside a few minutes and just as you turned to head back inside your body stopped. You tried to lift your hand to open the door but it wouldn't budge causing you to be very concerned and confused. Your legs turned you back towards the town and started walking aimlessly. You were so confused at this, until you looked down at the bracelet. You scoffed at it glowing once again.

"Oh come on give me a break. What now?" You questioned the bracelet in annoyance. You just wanted to go back to the association.

Wait, what did you want?..
