Tatsuki Shiki: Age 5
"Wake up, Tatsuki." The little girl who had been soundly sleeping in her bed is startled awake by her father that rips off the blanket over her. She sits up in a panic and wraps her thin arms around herself as the cold of the room starts to seep in. "Get dressed in your coat, we are going out so you can watch me kill my little brother and sister. I will even bring you a playmate, your cousin that they tried to hide away." Tatsuki is still at a loss as to what he's talking about. He pulls her off the bed and rushes her.
"Okay..." Tatsuki gets off the ground and goes to put on her winter gear over her sleepwear. She's positive her father, Rido Kuran, will not allow her to get changed into more appropriate clothes. She tries to find a hat to keep her ears warm or earmuffs, but she is unable to find them. She gets pulled by the hood of her jacket and is given no chance to get anything else.
"Why are you taking me to watch?" Tatsuki asks as she's carried along, feeling her coat zipper pressing into her neck. She uses her fingers to keep from being choked. Rido smirks, dropping the child and then picking her up like as if he were a sweet and caring father, they are face to face which makes her nervous, in spite of her expression not showing it.
"Oh my sweet little girl, I want you to keep watching what amazing things your father can do. I am even so kind as to claim your cousin and have her be your playmate until I get to eat her up. Apparently the sweet child hasn't been out in the world, she hasn't seen everything you've seen." Rido tells the child, looking into her mismatching eyes, the same reddish-brown and gray-blue like his.
"I want my brother." Tatsuki tells him, not caring about whatever rivalry he has with his own siblings. Rido smiles sweetly at his daughter and strokes her cheek, he looks into her blank gaze.
"No, you're not allowed to see that boy. You should forget he even exists." He pinches her cheek hard enough to make it red. She winces at the pain and he releases it, continuing out to his own destination. He continues to carry Tatsuki on his arm as she rubs her bruising cheek.
"Then why did you tell me about him?" Tatsuki questions, her eyes watering as her cheek swells. Rido doesn't answer her anymore, his body becomes bats and he carries her out into the winter night towards their destination.

Tatsuki sits behind a snowy bush in the cold winter night. She looks through the gaps of the bush with a pair of mismatching eyes, reddish-brown and gray-blue. Her mahogany hair gets caught on some of the more protruding branches as she leans in closer. The child's face is blank, she would seem like an oddly placed statue with how still her body and face is. Only the wind moving her hair and the up and down motion of her chest shows that she is alive.
Her dull gaze is pointed ahead to a large manor being invaded by vampires who die by the dozen in spite of having gone still as they too watch two sibling pureblood vampires facing each other. If given sides, the man who is initiating the attack and means absolute harm is her father, Rido Kuran. The man fighting to protect his family that lives in the manor, is her uncle Haruka Kuran.
She never got to really meet her Uncle Haruka or her Aunt Juuri, but she feels like she knows them due to her father constantly bringing them up. Especially her aunt Juuri who he claims to love with his whole heart that he wants to eat her up. Tatsuki doesn't really understand what he means by loving her, but she knows exactly what devouring her entails.
Tatsuki had come to be in the area after being forced out by her father. He is a confident and proud man who stands to believe that he will get his way and destroy his little brother before him. She's not sure why she was brought there to just hide and watch the battle. The young girl is not being watched over, so she has a chance to run away in that moment, but the battle before her is far more captivating. She wants to see who dies. Deep in her heart, she hopes that it is Rido Kuran.
Haruka manages to destroy her father's minions, but now it's the battle between Haruka and Rido. She watches them, the howling snow covering all traces of noise. She can only imagine what words that are being exchanged between the brothers.
During the battle, a young Kaname Kuran steps out to help his father. He stands in front of the injured Haruka and she watches as his father holds him from behind in such a loving way. Tatsuki blinks her mismatching eyes, and watches as Haruka dies within that blink. He turns to dust, and all that's left is Kaname and Rido. Disappointment settles in her heart as she watches the victory of her father.
Kaname goes to attack Rido and he's about to give him a killing blow, but his young body freezes. Rido appears to know that it would happen and didn't put an effort in moving or dodging the blow. Tatsuki's hands clench the snow beneath her as she is once again disappointed that her father survived.
More words exchange between them before Kaname goes at him, and actually destroys Rido's body, but Tatsuki knows he isn't dead. She can still feel his overwhelming presence in spite of the lack of a body. Kaname can't kill Rido, he has made sure to make her aware that he will not be destroyed easily. She saw how he seemed to hesitate to hit a killing blow on him.
Tatsuki crawls over to another bush and looks at all the sparkling dust that flies around them and mixes with the snow. The snow causes crunches that are heard slightly over the wind of the area. Snow begins to fall from the dark gray skies as if to bury what had happened in the lonely mountain where the lonely manor stands.
Kaname notices her as she stands up. He raises the anti-vampire weapon he used against Rido at her as she steps closer. His eyes widen slightly as he sees the mahogany haired child that looks at the weapon pointed at her. Kaname watches her mismatching eyes stare at the weapon with no fear. She looks down at her father's blood, and kneels next to it.
"You should have killed him." Tatsuki says in a soft monotonous whisper to Kaname as she stands up again. Kaname says nothing, and looks into the eyes of the unfeeling girl.
"Who are you?" Kaname questions, since he had no idea that Rido even had a daughter with him, let alone a child the same age as his own sister. Even though she's not a pureblood he can tell that she is Rido's daughter due to the fact she has the same color eyes as him and unlike most nobles, her blood is more pure. He can sense it very well from the small child.
"Tatsuki Shiki." She answers him, and turns away from Kaname. Disappearing in the quickly developing blizzard. He watches her go before he goes back into the home for his sister. A young girl that was turned human by her mother at the cost of her own life, to keep her safe from the vampires that wanted to steal her away.
"Hopefully you don't bring trouble to me in the future, Tatsuki Shiki."
Tatsuki pulls up the hood of her coat to keep her hair from flying all around. She holds on to the hood so it doesn't come off her head. The little girl has nowhere to go now that her father's body was destroyed, but she now feels a sense of freedom. She declared a new life the moment she spoke her new name to her cousin.
"Tatsuki Shiki... that's my name. It is the family name of my mother and my twin brother. I want to meet you, Senri. I'm going to look for you no matter what it takes." Tatsuki says aloud to herself, not really knowing where to go. All she knows is that she needs to get off the mountain and find a warm place to spend the night as she goes off on her search for her little brother.
