Kaien Cross's Help
"Kaien Cross." I repeat the name silently as I look at this man. He's nothing like I thought he'd be. I kinda expected a guy like Yagari-sensei, but this guys is loud, proud, and bubbly. I don't like that combo. Not one bit, and it seems these guys don't either, but Kaname is doing a way better job at hiding it.
"Um-"
"Don't let his idiotic act fool you. He was one of the best hunters of all time back in the day. He killed vampires here and there. President Kaien Cross, 'The Fangless Vampire'." Kaito tells me. I look back at him, and then back at the smiling Kaien Cross. No one mentioned he was the president of the whole building. He walks up to me, and puts his hand out.
"Hello there. I'm Kaien Cross. It's nice to meet you." He says. I take his hand a little awkwardly.
"I'm Alondra. It's nice to meet you too, sir." I say blushing a little. I get like that with all new people. Especially really nice people. But now that I'm focusing I can see how right these guys are. If they hadn't told me I definitely would have confused him for a vampire.
"Are you going to help us get Yagari-sensei back?" I question him. He's the head honcho here, so I'm sure his influence can help a whole bunch in order to face the Senate.
"Yes, of course. He's a personal friend of mine, and I will do all I can to help him." He says clasping my hand in both of his. I smile gratefully at him.
"Thank you, President Cross." I tell him, and take in a breath of relief.
"Right! Lets get to the Senate then!" I say walking towards the door, but Kaito pulls me back by the collar of my shirt.
"What the hell?!" I yell out at him.
"Idiot, how can you go to a place just like that. I doubt you'd even make it past the front door. We don't even have a plan! Actually, you don't even know where it is!" Kaito yells out at me. I blush.
"Oh, I forgot." I say getting out of his grasp, and standing there.
"Okay! What's the plan?" I question slamming the desk for effect.
"You have a brain. Use it." My right eye twitches.
"Oh, that's it, Takamiya. You're going down!" I say to him, and I pounce on him. Better to knock him down than punch him softly.
"Let me at him! Let me at him!' I yell out as Ichiru and President Cross hold me back.
"Calm down. Don't let him rile you up, Alondra." Ichiru says to me as I stop flailing my legs around. "Though he has an amazing talent for it." I huff, and they release me. I turn away from Kaito, and a light bulb flashes in my head.
"Don't even think about it, Alondra." Zero says as I open my mouth. I close it, and look over at him.
"H-"
"I know you." He answers me before I even ask him anything.
"Wi-"
"No, I won't let you finish a sentence." My temple throbs, but I can't keep myself from smiling.
"You're so mean. But I'm serious. I have an idea." I say putting my hands to my hips.
"I don't want to hear it." Zero tells me with all seriousness. I frown.
"Why not?" I question him with my own frown. He paces around before facing me.
"Because I know you plan to put yourself at risk again. I'm not going to let you go willingly to the Senate, understood?" Zero tells me sternly.
"Yes, mom." I say rolling my eyes. He glares up at me, and I turn away. "You got a better idea?" I question crossing my arms over my chest.
"Not yet, but I'm sure it's going to be better than your idea." Oh, well I can see how much faith he has in me.
"You're impossible to deal with!" I throw my hands up, and step out of the office. I press against the door, and sigh.
"Why is he such a worry wart? I can fight now. I've been training my butt off since the day Yagari-sensei disappeared. Sure I can't do it alone, but at least I can fight." I run my fingers on the wall besides me. Reaching my fingertips towards the corner. I yell out as a hand grasps my wrist. It tugs me over in its direction, and making my head hit the corner. Knocking me right out.

I open my eyes, and shut them again at the sight of a bright light. I turn my head away, and find that I can't see anything, but bright lights and shadow people surrounding me. They don't want me to recognize their faces, huh? Well wear some damn face masks or something.
I try to move my arms, but I can feel that I've been strapped down. I think I might have been sedated too. I don't think I'd be this calm if I wasn't. But I can still sense stuff around me. Like I'm outside of my own body watching this. These are humans. This must be the people Kaito warned me about. The ones that want to experiment on me.
"That's it. I'm going to let my hunter instinct get me free." I close my eyes, and focus on my hunter blood. My eyes open wide, and I can see it all.
I'm not in control of my body, but I can see what I'm doing. I break free from my restraints. Kicking aside the light, and flipping over the men that were at my head. I had grabbed a scalpel that was in one of their hands, and I now use it as my weapon. A weapon that can hurt humans.
I feel my face spread into a smirk, and the men there look at me stunned and fearfully. "What do you idiots want with me?" I question them, and now I realize that I am in control. This is all me. It's not only a reflex, but I'm actually doing it. I'm actually able to fight as a hunter now. Nice time for my abilities to manifest.
"You'd better fess up. She's the least of your worries." I jump when I see Kaito, Ichiru, Kaname, Zero, and even President Cross had come to help me. I rise from my crouched position, and they all stand in front of me. I frown, and jump over them to beat up the guys that thought it would be funny to try and slice me open.
I hold one in a choke hold, but make sure to keep him conscious. I put the scalpel to his neck.
"Alright, tell me why you were going to open me up? Talk now or I'll open your neck, and pull out your esophagus. Got it?" I feel him gulp, and he also starts to tremble. "Well?" He yelps as I press the blade closer to his neck.
"W-we just wanted to know what makes you the way you are. Y-ou were born to regular humans, and yet you are a natural born vampire hunter, and it seems you have vampire blood coursing through your veins. We want to know if you'd truly become a pureblood if we directly inserted you with pureblood blood in your heart." I nearly drop the scalpel at this sick man's gruesome explanation.
"Are you working for the Senate?" I question the man, and try to keep nervousness from creeping into my voice.
The man runs his own neck through the scalpel. I let the scalpel go, and crawl back in utter shock. Arms go to my armpits, and pick me up.
I turn around to look at Ichiru before holding on to him. I hear curses as Kaito and President Cross try to stop the man's bleeding.
"I think you had it aimed at his jugular vein. He just finished the job for you." I look back up at Ichiru that is observing the scene before him. I don't even dare look back. My stomach feels like it's turning over as the scent of blood invades my nostrils. It's so warm on my arm and hand. Disgusting...
"I-I didn't mean to kill him. I never planned on it! I just wanted to scare him!" Ichiru squeezes me even tighter, and I can actually feel my legs growing weaker at my increasing nervousness.
"I know. You didn't kill him. He killed himself, but I think that was the answer you needed. It seems there are undercover hunters that are also working for the Senate. It seems they've gotten word of your arrival, and are making their spies act." Ichiru says with anger filling his voice. I look up at him, and then back at the man being put into a bag by other hunters. I quickly look away, and see a vile of crimson. I escape Ichiru's arms, and walk over to the vile.
I pick it up, and look at the encrypted code on the vile. I wonder who's blood this is. I don't think it's Kaname's. I look over at Kaname, who is busy dealing with President Cross as are Zero and now Ichiru as well.
"If this blood were to be placed inside of me. . .I'd be a pureblood. I really am a freak of nature." I slip the vile into my pocket, and wait for an opportune moment to question Kaname about this, alone.

"It seems we will have to get you out of here, and put you in a safe house for the time being as we figure out a plan to infiltrate the Senate." President Cross says as we once more return to his office, and this time I don't plan on getting out of here again.
"Will I be trained? I need it in order to make sure I'm ready for a situation like that. Or worse." I ask President Cross. He observes me intently. His glasses slightly sliding off his nose as his light brown eyes meet my dark ones. He closes his eyes and nods his head.
"You have your anti-vampire weapon with you, correct?" I nod my head, and touch the straps attached to my thighs under my black skirt.
"Very well. Your training shall continue in the safe house then." I nod my head.
"Right. I'm ready." President Cross smiles at me, and rises.
"Yes, you really are a natural born hunter. Yet it seems you being raised by humans has given you a different sense of being a hunter." I don't know if that's a good thing, but I guess I'll take it as a compliment.
"Kaito, I'm entrusting you to get her safely there, and train her personally." President Cross says to Kaito. I cringe at the thought of spending more time with this ass.
"Right." He says, and he sounds less enthusiastic than me.
"Thanks for your help, President Cross." I say smiling back at him. He returns the smile, and nods his head.
"Good luck, Alondra. I'm sure we will be able to rescue Toga, alive." He tells me.
"Yeah, definitely. I'll definitely be thinking about a great plan that'll help." I tell him.
"Well, I'm not going to let you think on your own, and come up with a stupid plan that involves you going directly to them." Zero says startling me. He along with Kaname had been so silent, that I had forgotten they were there.
"Right. I understand." I say with an exasperated sigh.
"Ah, and, Kaname?" I question the silent neko.
"Yes?" He questions looking over at me.
"I need to talk to you when we get the chance to be alone." I avoid looking over at Zero, and put my hand to my pocket.
"Very well. We will speak once we get to the safe house." I nod my head, and look back at President Cross.
"So? When do we leave?" I question him. He opens a secret door behind him.
"Through here. A secret passage no one knows about except you all, Toga, and me." I look over at my companions, and they in turn look at me.
"Alright. Here we go I guess." I say with a shrug, and walking towards the door. I hear footsteps behind me, so I know they're following me. I keep from looking over my shoulder, and I look ahead. I'm already forming thoughts in my head, but first I need the right kind of information before I can make a plan that'll work. I hope I have enough brain power for this!
