Chapter 3: Sin of Wrath

WARNING! WARNING! THIS BOOK IS RATED MATURE FOR A REASON! MAJOR BLOOD AND TORTURE UP AHEAD! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

~A Week Later, Karma's POV~

I hummed a little to myself walking down the corridors. I knocked on a solid black door. "I'm coming in." I announced. I walked in with a smile on my face. "Hows my favorite vampire to be coming along?" I questioned. (Y/N) flipped my off, not even facing me as she laid on her bed. "Still being stubborn huh?" I asked, walking over and sitting next to her. "I'm not turning into one of you. F*ck off, you're wasting your time." She growled. I sighed, shaking my head. "The more you fight it, the more painful it is." I pointed out. She growled low to herself, not even giving me a verbal response this time. "What? Are you hoping that one of your friends will find a cure for it? If so, good luck with that. They don't even know what's happening to you. Hell that Kayano girl probably thinks you're dead right now. And trust me, when me and my best friend got turned I searched for any possible cures to get him back to normal but there was nothing." I said with a shrug. "F*ck off Crimson. I'm not turning into one of you." (Y/N) hissed at me. "Still refusing to call me Karma huh? Look (Y/N), I'll be blunt with you. The longer you keep refusing to eat the worse it's going to get." I said, waving a hand. I noticed her tense up slightly. I hummed a little, eyeing her. "That word...." She muttered. "Don't. Say. That. Word." She hissed in a threatening tone. I smirked. "Oh, you mean eat?" I questioned. She flinched a little. "Stop." She growled. "Well I mean you've got to eat eventually." I retorted. She placed her hands on her ears. I continued taunting her until finally she snapped. She whipped around, grabbing me by the collar of my shirt and pulled me to her. She growled at me, eyes red and fangs growing slightly. "Shut the f*ck up you d*mn vampire!" She spat. I just smirked and chuckled a little bit. "There's no stopping the transformation. And if you don't drink the blood of a human you'll go insane. You're stubborn and strong willed. But even you won't be able to last that long." I stated. "Yes I can, and I f*cking will!" (Y/N) shouted at me. I continued to smirk, leaning a little closer so our noses touched. "It's cute that you think that, it really is. But its pointless to fight it unless you want to become the monster that appears in the old legends." I said calmly. She growled a little to herself before shoving me off the bed. I chuckled a little, laying on the floor. She's fun to taunt. I thought. I jumped up and dusted myself off. I was about to continue talking when I noticed the slow rise and fall of (Y/N)'s breath. I tilted my head to the side a little and sat down at the edge of the bed. I closed my eyes and brushed my consciousness with hers. She's asleep alright. D*mn that was fast. I thought, pulling my consciousness away from her own. I couldn't help but stare for a minute. "Sloth? Wait, no. She doesn't seem like the lazy type like other vampires who have that sin." I mused to myself quietly. "Then again, it may be too early to tell what sin she has. After all, she isn't fully transformed yet." I added. I hummed a little, brushing some of her hair out of her face so it wouldn't get in her mouth. "Why did she fall asleep so suddenly though? Oh. Maybe that's her way of fighting off hunger. I know I'm never hungry when I wake up even if I was hungry when I went to sleep." I said softly. I got up and left the room quietly to not wake the sleeping girl. I wanted her to give in sure, but I had a plan in mind. I smirked a little peeking outside one of the castle windows. "Sire." I turned slightly to see Itona giving me a small bow. "The Scarlet Night is in a few days. Do you have any plans you wish to make?" He asked. I laughed quietly to myself and Itona gave me a look. "I know that laugh all to well sir. What kind of crazy sadistic plan do you have in mind now?" The silver headed vampire questioned. I smirked. "Have a human with a few cuts on it be brought up to (Y/N)'s room on the Scarlet Night. Also set out a cup of Type O out for me and a few darts too. A vampire's hunger is at it's peek during the Scarlet Night. I think (Y/N) will have a little more trouble than normal fighting off her hunger, especially with a human that has open wounds in the room with her." I said. Itona smirked at me. "Genius as always. So that's why you decided to turn her recently rather than months ago when she woke up." He said. I nodded, when suddenly an idea came to mind. My smirk grew. "Say, see if you can lure out a human that (Y/N) knew. One that she hated. Whether it be a bully, a rival, or just someone she found extremely annoying. Bonus points if (Y/N) never got revenge on the human before." I said. Itona nodded. "Of course." He said before leaving. I returned my gaze to the window, watching the moon. This'll be fun. I thought.

~Time Skip, (Y/N)'s POV, A Few Days Later~

I lay curled up in the ever swirling darkness that was my dreamless sleep. It didn't effect me as much when I was asleep. It was a low throb in the back of my mind. The hunger I mean. I didn't really feel it when I was asleep. It didn't tempt me to finally give in. My throat didn't feel dry and scratchy. My stomache didn't feel like it was collapsing in on itself. It was calm. Something echoed in my ears. I grumbled a little to myself, starting to wake up. It was a heartbeat. A very frantic heartbeat. I heard something else too. Something flowing. And a soft drip. That's when the metallic scent hit my nose. Blood. I heard something whiz in the air before a thud. A spike in the heartbeat I was hearing, followed by a whimper as the scent of blood grew more heavy. My eyes snapped open as I gasped for air, my body feeling like it was on fire. I curled up, burying my face in the blankets under me. I felt the fangs grow and cover my mouth. "Nice to see you're finally awake (Y/N)! C'mon join the Scarlet Night! Every vampire is enjoying it right now!" He said in an overly cheerful tone. I slowly sat up, despite everything feeling like it was on fire. I shot a glare at the red headed vampire king who was currently twirling a dart in his hand as he held a cup of blood with his other hand. I noticed a girl around my age chained up by the wall in prisoners clothes. Bleeding from many small cuts and wounds. There was currently a dart stuck in her shoulder, blood leaking from the wound. I felt my throat get even dryer as I shook my head, breaking my gaze from the female. I shot a look to the window to see blood red moonlight pouring in through the glass. I shot a look at the smirking vampire king. "You son of a b*tch. If I didn't absolutely hate you right now I'd actually complement you on how f*cking clever this is." I hissed. "Aw, you think I'm clever!" Karma chirped in an overly cheerful tone. A strong headache came on as I fell back on the bed. "ARGH! MY HEAD!" I screamed. "I've already told you what you need to do to get the pain to pass." Karma said. I shook my head violently. "I'm not going to do it!" I spat angrily. "Do what (Y/N)? Eat?" He questioned. I felt my eyes flash red and growled lowly. "What did I say about that word d*mnit!" I hissed. "Which one? Eat?" Karma asked. I covered my ears. "C'mon (Y/N)! All you've got to do is accept what you've become and the pain will go away!" Karma chirped. I bit my lip, hard. Drawing a little of my own black blood. "What the f*ck do you want from me d*mnit!? Why are you doing this!?" I shouted. "What do I want and why am I doing this? Let's see." Before I knew it I was sitting in a chair on the other side of the table Karma was sitting at. "Y'know, your stubbornness to cling to humanity shocks me. No one except myself has gone this long without giving into hunger. So I'm impressed, truly. But I'm not exactly the most patient vampire out there. Sure, I'm patient. But not much. And I'll restate this. There is no cure for turning into a vampire. So you can't hold out for friends who probably all think you're dead at this point. So let me make this clear to you now, as to what I want. I want you to hurry up and f*cking eat. The sooner you get it over with the better. Because my patience is running thin." Karma growled. I hissed at him slightly. "I'm not going to do it! I became a Vampire Hunter In Training for a d*mn reason you cocky red headed b*stered!" I shouted. Memories tried to resurface at the back of my head but I quelled them immediately, not wanting to remember anything that happened in my past. "I'm not going to become the monster that everyone is expecting me to become!" I spat in fury. Karma raised an eyebrow at my wording and I slapped a hand over my mouth. I looked away from him. "Drop it." I grumbled, removing my hand. He hummed a little before throwing a dart at the girl. Another spike in her heartbeat. He missed by a hair but accidentally cut the girl's gag, causing it to fall. She shot a glare at me when I finally recognized her. "Ayame." I said. She smirked at me. "Oh so now you realize you freaking lunatic." She hissed. I couldn't help but stare at her in shock. The once proud female had tormented me when I still went to school before dropping out in favor of Vampire Hunter training. I hummed a little. "I would say karma's a b*tch. But y'know what? I think was already well established." I said gesturing to the red head sitting calmly in his chair, twirling another dart in his hand. He smirked. "Guilty as charged." He said. Ayame laughed to herself. "Oh of course you'd end up being turned into a vampire. Looks like I called it! Oh how ironic. I always knew you were a monster, murderer." She spat with venom. I growled low to myself as Karma shot me a look. "I'm not a murderer. Nor am I mental. And what do you mean 'ironic'?" I questioned.

She laughed, long and hard. Karma hummed a little to himself, throwing another dart and shutting her up. Another spike in heart rate. The dart lodged itself in her arm, causing her to yelp in pain. "Heh. It's funny really....how much Kayano would always defend you. And how tore up she was when she came back saying that you were alive and that you stayed behind so she could get away. Yet you were probably here having the time of your life with the other monsters. The one with the red hair sitting there. Yeah, I'm talking about you, ya' cocky b*stered. He's the one who bit you isn't he? Does that automatically make you his b*tch? Oh! I know! You two met during the Scarlet Night both covered in the blood of your victims because of course only a vampire would actually tolerate a f*cking psychopath like you (Y/N)! Oh poor, poor Kayano. Getting stabbed in the back by someone that everyone know was a monster, but she was foolish enough to trust anyways-!" *THUNK* The room grew silent. Karma looked at his empty hand in shock as the red dart he was just holding was lodged in the wall next to Ayame's head. Having cut her cheek as blood ran down it. Her eyes moved shakily away from the dart to the person who threw it. I growled lowly, eyes red as I slowly sat back down. "You talk too much. Now let me correct you on a few things. One: Kayano always defended me because she was actually a nice person who didn't listen to rumors. Two: I have not been having the time of my life. I've had multiple near death experiences. Spent most of the last year in a coma. And have been starving for almost two weeks, because I refuse to become the monster everyone expects me to be. Three: I'm not a monster. The only monster I see here, is you. Four: Yes, Karma is the one who did this to me. But he did not bite me. That isn't how vampires turn humans. They do that by forcing a human to drink their blood. Five: I'm not his b*tch. I've been fighting him ever since he did this to me. Six: I am not a psychopath! Seven: You can talk s*it about me all you f*cking want. But talk s*it about my friends, and that's when I get p*ssed." I spat out, loud and clear. The room grew silent as the echoes of my words faded into silence. The silence was....suffocating, for lack of a better term. I was able to hear my own heartbeat in my ears as well as Ayame's terrified breaths. I could hear the pounding of her heart as well over my own. I could hear her blood flowing. I heard it drip to the floor. Every. Single. Drop. "Heh. You finally called me Karma." "Shut your f*cking mouth a*shole." I spat. He whistled slightly. "D*mn that was a good throw. Remind me to play you in darts sometime." He said, breaking the tension slightly. But I was still caught in my trance. I noticed Karma smirking out of the corner of my eyes. "Ah. So you can hear it then. The blood in her veins flowing. Every drop that hits the floor. Enticing, isn't it?" He questioned. I didn't respond, gritting my teeth. "Her scent, (Y/N). It reeks of fear. And her heart spikes each time a dart comes at her. You can hear it all. You can sense it. Can't you?" Karma asked. I closed my eyes tightly. Don't listen (Y/N). You can hold on. You can hold on. Don't give in. I thought. I heard Karma click his tongue as he picked up another dart. "Oh (Y/N). Why do you torment yourself so? I really don't understand this level of stubborn. Granted, I've probably been that stubborn at some point in my many years. But either way, I'm starting to find this girl annoying. So one way or the other she's not leaving this room alive. But wouldn't it be much more satisfying to end her yourself? I mean, you hate her don't you?" He questioned. He tossed the dart, cutting her and causing her to yelp in pain. I opened my eyes and my breath came in short pants. "I've been there (Y/N). I know how bad the hunger can get. Your throat feels dry. Your lungs feel like their on fire. Hell not just your lungs your entire body feels like its on fire. You get massive headaches. Your stomache feels like its collapsing in on itself. I know. But the longer you stall it out, the worse its going to get. Don't torture yourself any longer. Being a vampire doesn't make you a monster. No mater what you may think or have been told." Karma said. I finally looked over at him and he gave me a small smile. "I never go back on my word remember?" He questioned. Ayame let out a painful laugh.

"Y'know what? Scratch something I said earlier. A vampire like you should be absolutely terrified of her! After all, she's a murderer. She's killed one of you before!" Ayame said. "Really? Hm. Let me check real quick, oh wait. I don't give a f*ck." Karma said in a bored tone. "She's nothing but a cold hearted killer with no emotions! A monster! She's mental! If I'm going to die I'm at least going to tell the truth-!" And at that moment I snapped. I rushed forward, grabbing Ayame by her head and slamming it into the wall behind her. She screamed in pain as I glared at her. "I'm getting real tired of all your bulls*it Ayame." I growled. She closed her eyes tightly before cracking one open and smirking weakly. "You're only....proving my...point." She hissed. I grabbed her arm and twisted it violently, hearing multiple snaps as she screamed in absolute agony. "Problem is, I hardly care at this point." I hissed in her ear. I threw her to the ground, her arms and legs still bound by the chains as I stomped on her other arm, hearing the bone snap in two as she screamed. Blood began pouring from under her body as a feral growl rose in my throat. She began sobbing, tears streaming down her face. I didn't give two flying f*cks. I grabbed her by the neck and slammed her into the wall. A little of her blood got on my cheek. I licked it off, and my hunger surged. I moved my hand slightly while still holding her still, so I could get a clean shot at her neck. Somehow she was still conscious and gave me a look of pure terror. "Mon....ster...." She choked out. I plunged my fangs into her neck. She screamed before it gurgled down into nothing. Once her body was completely drained of blood I dropped her with a growl. "Don't call me a monster when you've ruined people's lives and I've saved them." I mumbled. I trailed off staring at the lifeless body. I scoffed a little. "B*tch." I hissed. "Savage....D*******mn." I shot a look over at the shocked red head, still sitting in his chair. He met my eyes and smirked. "Now that, was a display of Wrath if I've ever seen one." He commented, standing up. "The hell are you on about now?" I questioned. He started walking over. "Well, whenever someone turns into a vampire they start taking on the traits of one of the seven deadly sins. Or if they refuse to eat, the eighth sin, insanity. My sin is Pride. Something tells me yours is Wrath, judging from....that." He said, gesturing to the body. He stood in front of me now, and I didn't flinch back. He tilted his head to the side before wiping some of Ayame's blood off of my cheek. He sniffed at it a little before wrinkling his nose in an almost cute way. "Type B. That explains a lot. Try type O or A. Those two are better." Karma said. I gave him a look. Finding it odd how he talked of Blood Types like it was a perfectly normal conversation topic. Oh wait. Vampire. I sighed a little and facepalmed. He smirked, patting my head. "You'll get used to it. It's not easy at first but don't sweat it too much." He said. There was a knock on the door and Karma shot a look over his shoulder. A silver haired vampire opened the door and peeked inside. "Um, is everything alright in here I heard screaming and-OH MY DEMON GODS!" He shouted. Karma laughed, a little evilly. "It worked." He said cheerfully. "I can see that!" The silver haired vamp spat. He sighed a little while facepalming. "I'll get some of the maids to clean up this um....mess." He said. He slowly began closing the door, not taking his eyes off of us until the door fully closed shut. I heard the quick shuffling of feet and sighed a little.

Karma leaned over, placing a hand on my forehead. "Hm. A little feverish. The rest of the transformation is about to happen. C'mon. Let's get you out of here so everyone can do their jobs." He said. I didn't say anything and just stood there, slightly stunned about what I just did. I stared at my bloodied hands for a second time. Memories popping up, only in one of my hands I held a silver gun. Karma sighed a little before picking me up bridle style, snapping me out of it. I growled at him and he laughed. "Oh hush. If you're going to space out and possible pass out I get to carry you." He said. "F*ck off Karma." I hissed. "Hey you called me Karma again." He pointed out. I looked away from him as he walked out of the room. "No I didn't." I mumbled. He chuckled a little, muttering 'cute' under his breath. "Don't f*cking patronize me you a*shole." I spat, glaring at him. I yawned a little, my eyes drooping. I eventually let them shut and drifted off to the sound of Karma's heartbeat. Wait...vampires have heartbeats? I thought.
