Chapter 41
Clover's POV
My eyes flutter open but I immediately close them when shining light stings them. Where am I? What happened? Last thing I remember was fighting the scientists.
Gradually, I start to move but get restricted because of something on my wrists and feet. Oh right.....I got captured. Now, with urgency, I open my eyes again, not caring about the pain and thrash my arms and legs around.
Around me, I seem to be in a metal room, exactly like all the other rooms that we have been to in this building. No one is with me in here as they must be locked up somewhere else. As well, I'm lying on what looks like an operating table. I continue to smack my hands against the table, hoping that maybe the ropes that are holding me down will break.
But an evil laughing noise grabs my attention. The woman scientist walks out from the shadows with her hands on her hips and a wide smile that shows all of her plastic teeth. "Don't try to get out sweetie, the ropes are vampire proof, specially made for you."
"What are you doing? You're going to destroy the world." I growl at her.
"Everything we're doing is for science baby. You have to make some scarifies if you want to get where you want to be." The scientist simply says.
"You're sick."
"No, you're sick. Actually, you're dead because I'm going to kill you so that you're not in my way to success." She walks over to me and takes a seat on the table that I'm on. I attempt to make a kick at her but she just out my reach.
"When I get out of here-"
"When sweetie. The key word in that sentence is when." She interrupts me then wave her hand at me for me to continue.
"When I get out of here, I'll make sure you're taken down for everything you have done. To the children that you worked on and the people who had to die for just Science!" I snarl at her.
"But sweetie-"
"Stop calling me sweetie." This time I interrupt her and she glares at me.
"You're never going to get out of here. Because, as I said earlier, I'm going to kill you in the next....hmm, 15 minutes so you better start thinking about your last words." I look away from her, struggling to think of a comeback for that one. She looks satisfied that she's won the fight and jumps down from the table.
"Bring him in. I'm done interrogating her." She shouts to no one and then the door slams open and the male scientist walks in with Dominic in his grasps. He struggles to get out his grip but the man tightens his hands around his shoulders.
Dominic then spots me and his eyes widen. "Clover, thank god you're ok. We all thought you were dead." Relief flushes through his face as the scientist pushes him in into a corner. His hands get tied up with ropes.
"I'm not dead yet." I try to show a smile but I see the woman scientists out the corner of my eye, watching me carefully. "Keyword yet." I shoot her a glare, stealing her line. "Is Olive ok?"
"Yes. Or at least she was." He snarls at the male scientist who just shrugs and leaves the room. "Healers managed to save her but they hurt her when they took me. I don't know how she is now." Worry fills his face.
"You really like her don't you?" Dominic doesn't look at me straight in the eye, his face going a bright red.
"Young love. How revolting. I could bring her here but then I'll probably puke." The scientist makes herself present to Dominic as she walks towards him. "Maybe two of the most precious people to you will die today. Olive is the girl with the blue hair?"
"Don't you dare touch her." He growls at her making the woman smirk.
"I won't touch her right now. Maybe later though. It'll just finish off my day." She makes her plans while Dominic tries to throw himself at her but gets held back by the ropes. Then, she turns to me.
"Or, should I kill her first so that we have a full audience." She claps her hands together. "Oh this will be fun-" A beep interrupts her and she go towards a little box on the wall. "No one should be visiting us at this time." She mumbles to herself before pressing the button.
"Why are you here." Her harsh voice says into the speaker and I gaps remembering something. The dream.
"I'm here to visit a relative." The familiar voice answers and the woman scoffs, not having put two and two together. "My name is Clover. Clover Waterstone." The voice now introduces herself and the woman scientist snaps her head towards me.
I attempt to make myself look as innocent as possible but fail miserably. She looks between the microphone and me, confused. Then, the scientist presses a button and a creaking sound comes out from the speaker.
"What are you doing? I don't remember a Vampire being able to multiply." She points her finger at me. "Wait here. I'll be back soon." She leaves the room, slamming the door behind her.
"Ah, so Olive was correct then. The dream is real." Dominic mutters to himself, smiling slightly. "The dream you had, Past Clover has just entered the building. And we have a chance to get out of here."
"If Olive and the rest find a way to get out of their cells, they might be able to make it down here without coming into the scientists and twins. And they have Robyn with them who knows where she's going in this place." He continues.
"But we need to get out these ropes first. We're not going anywhere." I tell him, fighting against the ropes that hold me down to the table.
"Are they vampire proof?"
"Yes. Tried already." I groan back.
"But are they Penel proof?" Dominic challenges. " Because I may not have a power where I can freeze them or make them dissolve but," His hands start to move quickly making a blur. After a while, the rope breaks. "I have a power where I can make friction, therefore, the rope breaking."
"Dominic you're a genius! Now untie me!" I say eagerly and he chuckles and then works to untie mine. The ropes drop and I throw my hands up in the air. "I'm free!"
"Not quite yet. Still got your feet." He starts to work on them as well and then finally I feel release on my feet."All done."
"FREEDOM!" I shout.
"Clover they might hear us!"
"Freedom!" I whisper, smiling. "What next?" I bounce up and down. Suddenly, a knock catches my attention, coming from the door. I glance at Dominic and then walk slowly to the door. I place my hand on the handle and open it.
"CLOVER!" Robyn shouts and jumps onto me. "You're not dead!" She hugs me and I stumble back a little.
"Why does everyone think I'm dead?" I smile and hug her back. I look to everyone else and notice that the whole fight club is here. But then I spot Olive in Simons arms. "Olive! Bring her in." I tell him.
"She's lost a lot of blood but we managed to patch her up again," Simon says and places Olive down on the floor. Dominic rushes to her. "Careful with her stitches, they're weaker than the last ones."
"Guys I'm fine." Olive croaks out but then sees Dominic. "DOMINIC!" She breaks out into a smile and hugs him. "Don't you ever do that again!" She then shouts, hitting his head.
"I'm just glad you're alright." He notices her cuts on her forehead, concern washing over his face. "I'm so sorry. I should've tried to stay there with you."
"Hey." She takes his face in her hands. "None of this..." She gestures to the cuts on her face, "is your fault. Okay?"
"Okay."
"Right I think I'm going to puke." I put a finger up my throat and pretend to make a gagging noise. They ignore me and continue with their catch up. I go towards Robyn and Rebecca but then realise they're talking to someone I recognise. When Rebecca sees me, she gestures to the person.
"Clover! Meet Past Clover. Past Clover, meet Present Clover." I face the girl who looks exactly like me. Robyn and Rebecca look warily between the both of us. "I'm not sure if Past and Present people are supposed to meet each other," Rebecca mutters.
"Well the world hasn't blown up yet so I think we're doing fine." Robyn laughs. "Just don't touch each other. The world might then blow up."
"Agreed." Past Clover smiles at me. "So do Dominic and Olive eventually get together in the future?" Past Clover asks me.
"Seems like it. They've been weird for the past week." I turn to the whole fight club. Everyone seems to be bonding pretty well. We've all come together in the time that we've been training. "Right!" I clap my hands together getting everyone's attention.
"We can't have this fight ending like the last fight now, can we? We need a new plan!"
"I have a plan!" Olive speaks up. "Why don't the supply group make some weapons for people to use who are not attackers or defenders. That way we have more people fighting them and fewer people standing around."
"That's a great idea, Olive! Does everyone agree on that?" I ask the fight club and they respond with a cheer. "Right Olive, you're head of Supply, get to work," I instruct her and she salutes me before getting to work.
She gathers the people of her group and then stands at the front. "People of Supply! I need...Nikki, Marie, Savannah, and Jess to create elements that we can fire out of these guns. Then I need Ellie, Max, Josh, and Tia to create these guns. And can Sally, Maisie, and Grace make a few shields for everyone? Get started! I will help the group making elements."
"Oh no, you won't. You need to rest!" Dominic scolds her and Olive gives him puppy eyes. "Please don't do puppy eyes! You got stabbed and ripped your stitches. You have a fight to fight soon, you need to rest up for that."
"Please, Dominic! I just want to help!" Olive bounces up and down but even that makes Dominic place a hand on her shoulder. "Please. I'll promise that I will not do that much!" She stares up at him. Eventually, he sighs.
"Go on then. Just don't overdo yourself please." Dominic lets her go and she immediately gets to work. I can see Dominic being the protective husband and dad when he's older. That's a sight I'm waiting to see.
"I'll make water and ice and you guys can cover the rest. Remember, these have to be balls and they have to be containable. We practiced this." Olive instructs her group and they get started.
************
"Use your weapons and your powers. And if you want to, combine them together to make them stronger. We need every power against the scientists to win." I tell the whole fight club as we get ready for the scientists to come back.
They must've noticed by now that the whole fight club has escaped and they've left two leaders of that fight club alone in an unguarded room. I don't think we realised how dumb these scientists were when we were planning to fight them.
As if on cue, the door opens revealing the scientists and the twins, all of them looking annoyed. "We were watching your little plan in the screen room. Didn't you see the little cameras that are placed all around the room?" One of the twins snarls at us.
"Oh, how excited you were that you could actually have a chance of beating us. We're here to put you all back in your cells." The woman scientist glares at everyone in the fight club.
"But what if you thought wrong and we defeated you. What would happen then?"
"I guess we'll just have to find out." The male scientist snarls at me and then gets ready to fight. My fight club also gets ready.
"Fightclub, we're not going to let them defeat us again. We know their powers and we've got a plan. Stick to that plan. Ready?" I shout to the fight club. "GO!"
"Freezers go for the woman." Olive shouts and a load of freezer balls head towards the Woman scientist. The woman looks towards her group of friends but they continue fighting, not having noticed. In an instant, she gets frozen solid. "One down, three to go. Dominic and Oscar, your turn!"
"Thanks, Olive. Transporters and futures, you know what to do." Oscar shouts to the two groups. A massive cloud goes around the male scientist.
"What's going on?!" He shouts, not being able to see what's happening. Dominic smirks and then disappears into the cloud with a rope in his hand. After a while, the cloud disappears and the male scientist appears tied up with rope.
"Now you know how it feels." Dominic flicks him in the forehead. "Rebecca, Simon!"
"Already on it! Defenders and Healers, go!" Rebecca shouts to the groups and make their attacks on one of the Twins.
All the defenders surround one of the twins, blocking the two boys from being with each other. They corner him off. "Healers! Start!" Simon yells to his group and the twin gets tied up with bandages and string. He tries to get out but the bandages don't break.
"Blasted idiots!" He yells in frustration. Simon and Rebecca high five before turning to me and Robyn.
"Finish it off you two." Rebecca smiles. "You deserve it."
"Indeed we do. Attackers join your powers together to take him out!" I instruct my group and they all put their hands together. A multicoloured ball goes into the sky and they fire it towards the twin.
In a second, he's on the floor unconscious. And like that, we had won. "Clover we did it!" Olive shouts and everyone cheers in delight, hugging each other.
The Penel police showed up after we won the fight and took the four away to be arrested. Olive got taken to hospital for her injuries with Dominic who refused to leave her side but according to the doctor, she should be fine.
Past Clover disappeared halfway through the fight, sadly, we didn't get to say goodbye to her. "Clover?" Robyn comes up behind me.
"Hey what's wrong?" I ask when I notice her face. She looks down, away from my gaze. "Robyn?"
"The Penel police want to take me back home to my family in Germany. And I think I want to do that. I want to see my family again after so long. I've come to say goodbye." She tells me and I accept her leaving.
"If that's what you want to do then go chase it. Come back and visit, we'll miss you." I squeeze her into a hug. "I tell Olive and the rest that you're going."
"Goodbye Clover." She whispers and then walks away towards an officer who leads her out the room. I turn to everyone, most are resting on the floor.
This is what we had trained for and now we've done it. Anyone who didn't believe in us, we can prove them wrong.
"Thank you fight club. For everything."
The End.
