Chapter 15
Clovers POV
I blurred figures runs up to me but I can't make out who it is. I feel weight on my shoulders from hands pulling them up.
"Clover! Say something!" The person yells in panic, slightly shaking me. I figure out it's a male's voice and I finally realise who it is. I put my hand up slightly to them and they grab hold of it and squeeze it tightly.
"Dominic....It really hurts!" I cry, my voice cracking as I speak. I shut my eyes to try and get through the pain but nothing works. Once I open my eyes, my vision comes back and I see a very panicked Dominic, holding my by the shoulders to stop me from sliding my back down the wall. His other hand is still holding mine. His breaths heavily, from where he was running to get to me. I smile slightly though it hurts.
"Hey, it'll be ok." He tries to reassure me while thinking of a solution.
"But this has never happened to me before! I shouldn't be here I should be more careful and not be so stupid!" I manage to yell, but when I finish my skins burns again and cry from the pain.
"I'll take you to my dorm and I'll treat the burns." He starts to panic, realising this is worse than he thought. I shake my head slowly.
"You can't, your friends will be there. They'll ask questions......I..I don't know what to do." I cry again. He looks down, trying to think of other solutions.
"We can't take you to our mum, even if she is the nurse. She might get fired if they find out a person had got burnt this much on her watch. And if she gets fired, we have to leave as well." He looks at my face worriedly, as it has already been blistering.
I sigh, knowing what's going to happen next.
"Ok. Take me to your dorm. What's the chance you friends would be there?" I ask. He thinks about it for a second.
"Quite small. They usually go outside like everyone else in this weather. Should I lift you?" He asks me.
"I don't think I can walk so I don't really have a choice do I."
"Are you ready?" He asks and I slowly nod my head.
He carefully places his hand under my legs and the other supporting my back. It hurts slightly but I try and hide the pain from him.
He lifts me from the ground, making my legs ache. I squeeze my eyes shut and slowly the pain in my legs goes.
"I'll take you to my dorm, and there we can treat the burns. Do you know how to? I've never really burnt myself before." He asks.
"You put a damp cloth on the burn after running it under warm water," I say. He starts walking towards the shade I've been longing to get to.
Once we hit it, I sigh in relief as my skin stops burning as much. We carry on walking down the corridor, managing not to bump into anyone on the way.
"Clover, you didn't tell me how this happened." Dominic suddenly says, filling in the silence, making me jump.
"It....it was just the sun. I was out for too long. Silly me." I mumble trying to hide that I was lying. He looks down at me but I avert my eyes, avoiding his glance.
"Clover, I know when you're lying." He says and I pause. I breathe in,
"The girls in my dorm......" I go silent again. "They managed to find out that I'm a vampire. Once they found out, I tried to leave but they froze my legs." I sigh about to continue.
"They said I have to leave this school. Obviously, I refused but they said they'll tell the whole school if I don't. They then let me leave but Tiffany had to unfreeze my legs and that's how I got burnt." I say really quickly, hoping the small details will go past him.
Dominic slowly stops waking. "Please don't be mad at me! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean for them to find out!" I cry and he looks at me, his eyes showing that he's not angry at me.
"Why would I be mad at you? You're my little sister and everything you get into I will take your side. Always." He says and I manage to hug him from where he's holding me. He smiles and carries on walking towards the dorm.
Eventually, we get there, the wooden door staring back at us. Dominic anxiously puts his ear up to the door to check if anyone was talking in there. Based on his reaction, no one seems to be speaking so he opens the door and walks in.
It looked completely different to mine. All the bunk beds were untidy and clothes were sprawled everywhere. A basketball net was placed on the wall, with a trolley under it filled with balls. The walls were plastered with boring wallpaper, unlike ours which was pink all over and the flooring looked rough and dirty like it hadn't been cleaned in years.
There was 4 bunks, all of them with sheets on but one single bed stands out. Dominic approaches it and lays me down on the bedding.
"Is this your bunk?" I ask.
"Yea but its a bit messy. What did you say about how to treat burns earlier?" He says and I explain that you need to get a cloth and then run it under warm water and then place it on the burns. Though it takes a while for it heal.
He seems to take most of it in, before running towards to bathroom. I sit quietly on the bed before taking off my cardigan to examine the burns. Red blotches go up and down my arm, blistering in some places. Blood comes off from one of the blisters and falls onto my shorts.
My legs appear worse than my arms as they hit direct sunlight. Most of it has blisters and you can already tell that some are going to stay with me for a while.
Finally, Dominic comes back with a wet cloth which drips all over the floor as he walks over. He sits on the bed and gapes at the sight of my burns as he tries to take it in. He then places on the cloth to my leg and pain goes through it. I wince but then breath through it.
"We're going to need more cloths." He chuckles slightly, walking back into the bathroom.
Tiffany POV
We walk down the hallway, the sun blaring in our eyes. By now, it afternoon so everyone is still outside because it's the hottest part of the day.
"Tiffany, do you think we should be doing this?" Rebecca asks me. I sigh, doubting myself only now.
"Yes. We want her to leave so we must do it. For Oscar." I nod my head and continue on my way. Both Mia and Rebecca and silent until we reach our target.
I stand outside of the teacher home room. This is the places where the teachers spend most of their breaks, chatting with other teachers. Not many people get to go in there, only for when they go and collect things.
I glance through the window on the door and realise that no one is in there.
"What are we going to get Tiffany?" I hear Mia say as she shuffles her feet.
"Anything valuable." I push down on the handle and the door opens. I walk in but I can't hear Mia or Rebecca walking behind me. Looking around I see them both standing at the entrance of the door.
I roll my eyes and continue on my mission. I search the room for anything. A little kitchen is in the corner of the room and I spot something on the countertop next to the sink. I approach it a realise its a ring. A woman's ring which seems expensive as it has jewels going around it. A teacher must've taken it off as they were doing the washing up.
I pick it up and slip it into my back pocket. I speed walk towards the door just in case a teacher comes now and makes it back to the hallway. I close the door behind me before running away from it.
We run back to the dorm and slam the door shut once we get back in. I sigh in relief that we weren't caught.
"What do we do now?" They ask.
"We put it under Clovers pillow, that's what. Then a teacher would ask if anyone has seen it and we'll say that we saw clover sneaking a ring under her pillow. Then they would find it and Clover would be expelled! And Oscar will be safe from that evil vampire." I grin taking the ring out of my pocket.
They both come over and gasp at the jewels. "Wow Tif, you've scored high!" Rebecca says and I walk over to the Clovers bed. I lift up the pillow and sneak it under.
"Now we'll just see what happens!"
************************************************************************************************
Hello again! It's been a week since I updated last so I'm pretty pleased with myself. I really hope you liked this chapter!
The only reason I was able to write it because all throughout the week I've been writing parts of it at school! So it gave me a head start when I started writing on the weekend. I managed to write 630+ words at school which is really good!
Oh before I go, everyone stays safe with the clowns and stuff. I know they have been in America for quite a while now but in the past week, they've just hit the UK and I'm kinda terrified. There was one on a road near me and I refuse to be home alone.
But other than that I'm fine! I'll see you soon! Bye!
Charlotte
