Chapter 6 - Research

What does Eito and Papa Nakano know about this?

Enjoy.

The next day the last bell rang. And rather than (FN) bumping into Miku at a vending machine, he had a visitor of someone he didn't know that well. He just saw someone in his grade with dark hair. He walked in and asked the person closest to the door.

"Is (LN) in here?" Fuutaro asked inside the door.

"You rang." (FN) waved his hands to invite him. Not even leaving his desk. "What can I do for you?"

"Mind if we take it somewhere else?" He asked.

"Sure thing." (FN) nodded to the guys. "I'll be seeing ya. Take care." With that, he grabbed his bag and he walked in the hallway and followed Fuutaro. It just ended up being the next corner of the hallway next to the staircase. It was private enough to have this talk. "So what's up?"

"I'm the one tutoring the girls." Said Fuutaro.

"The smartest guy in the school is teaching five girls? Man oh man you got it for yourself. I hope they're paying you good for it."

"I don't want to talk about that. I really just want to talk about Miku."

(FN) shook his head. "So tell me. How much do you know about her and about us?"

"I know you're a rich kid that has really made her smile. I know about gaming and the tea shop. That's it. Ichika her oldest sister told me what your homeroom is. Miku is shy and very insecure about herself. She's working on it, but she is fragile. I just don't want her to get hurt. I don't know the other obstacles in the way, but just please, I think you know what's best." Fuutaro seemed non biased. Respecting everyone's feelings.

"She's a sweet and innocent girl and even though she may not be where she or others want her to be, Miku is bettering herself on a slow process. We are at early stages. It's only been a few days. I like where it's going. We are just figuring things out I guess. We aren't at that level."

"You're not the boyfriend. Got it. Look, sorry to make this awkward or anything. But thank you. Seriously, thank you." Odd coming from a tutor that's the same age.

"Sure thing. And thanks for keeping an eye on her. I wonder what happens when she goes home. You know how it is."

(FN) shook his head. "Look. I like where its going and its just in that stage where I don't know what its going to be. I hope its something good, but you never know."

Meanwhile in an office in a business building there was a man in a full suit in rage. There was a man on the line that was giving him trouble. In business there is so many aspects to keep an eye on. More than just the accounting numbers. More than how it's run. There are times where people need to pay up. And that is when the two men on the line were going to let each other had it.

"I'm telling you. For the last time Nakano, where are these expenses coming from?"

< Eito I told you I'm working on it. I have someone punching them up and getting everything all filed and dated for you. What's your problem? >

"Because God forbid I'm late on those assignments needed. That's what."

< Oh yeah? When you're on the golf course and at home early while I'm late at my desk? We are not the same. >

"Because I'm a family man and you have more time on your hands to crank those numbers you're addicted to?"

< Family man when he's on his third marriage. Got it. >

"Least none of them was one of my employees porked on my desk!"

< Alright God dammit you're going too far now. I said I would give you those God damn numbers for my end but now in all honesty I want to buy you out if this is how it's going to be. >

"And watch you take over this potential gold mine? Go shit in your hat. Not happening."

< Fine! I'll get you your numbers and I will make you an offer along with it. Get on with it. >

"Go ahead." Eito banged the phone on the receiver. "That son of a bitch has no right. The guy that leaves five girls at home and expects them to be normal. I love my boy at home and nothing is changing that. Hmph." He sat back in his chair and let out a sigh. "Wait a minute... Nakano. Same car garage- Holy shit. Nooo. Dammit." He smacked his hand on the table. "It all makes sense. I can't believe my kid likes one of the girls."

~~~~~
(FN) was at his desk doing homework while he was getting a phone call. It was from Miku. He put his pencil down and answered his phone.
"Hey Miku."
< You got a minute or two? I'm on my break. >
"Oh, yeah of course. What's happening?"
< I've just been making appetizers today. Dinner specials have begun. Just clearing my head and sitting down for a moment. How about you? >
"Homework before Makia tells me dinner is ready. Then going from there. Hope you're not at it all night or anything. That would be a bit much."
She giggled. < Thanks for the concern. But I'm alright. My sisters might have things taken care of. We all kind of work together on this. Then I'll hop in the shower, check my dailys, and pending my mood going to bed. >
"I hear you on that. I'm not working right now. I'm trying to get into a good school and moving on from there. Oh speaking of, I ran into your tutor today."
< Whaaat? Ehhh, what did he say? > Miku didn't sound so enthused.
"He just said hi and wanted to know how things were going. Though it's got to be nice having the guy with the school's highest GPA in the school."
< It's intimidating at first... >
"I can only imagine. I heard he does. Plus he looks like he would scare someone to a point. How is he with you?"
< Fine. Just checking on the five of us. Our careers at least. I don't know what's left after all of that. >
"I've asked myself the same thing. You know how it is. But I can't lie, I am taken care of well. And my father is a good man."
< Hey (FN)? I know- never mind. I have to get going. I need to wash my hands to get back to the kitchen. >
"I totally get it. Hope you're on tonight. Bye Miku."
"Bye now." Miku hung up the phone and sighed in relief. As if I can ask him why he doesn't bring up his mother over the phone. That wouldn't go very well.
~~~~~

Late that night Eito was fluffing his pillows as his wife was reading. She put her book down for a moment to notice that he was very uneasy. "Are you alright? I highly doubt the pillow is a problem for you."

"Just trying to get over the awful phone call meeting I had today. I didn't want to say anything with (FN) around. I didn't want to ruin a great dinner by that nonsense." He feebly laid there is bed hoping to close his eyes.

Maria took off her reading glasses and put them on the nightstand. The book along next to it. This gave her the ability to freely hug her husband. "What got you bent out of shape at work? A closed account?"

"A potential investor and I got into it. He brings a billion yen (9.4 million USD range as of 2/16/2021 check) on a project potentially every time. I asked him for the accounting stuff like new expenses and he got worked up about it."

"So?" Maria squeezed him. "What's wrong with that?"

"After that he became an asshole. He brought up family and it just started becoming a screaming match with each other. He's a jerk to begin with. Great partner as far as laying down money, but he comes off as such an unlikeable guy. It's frustrating."

Maria was fortified. "What do you mean brought up family?"

"He thinks if I am ever behind on a question or concern it's because partners in a company invited me to golf and discuss business or I am home early because I'm a family man. He mocked that this is my third marriage and I lost it."

"He have kids?" She asked.

"He was having a relationship for a woman that worked for him and they had five ki- Wait a second. Hold on." He got out of the bed and started to calculate everything in his head. "Nakano... Nakano. Wait, five kids. Didn't speak of fa- Shit!"

"Nakano? Wait. Are we talking the bread guy or the girl (FN) is talking to Eito?" Asked Maria.

"Ah shit. I think my son is dating one of his daughters. As if that is ever going to go good around the holidays. You know why? Because I know when to go home and he doesn't. He doesn't even LIVE with his five girls that are all the same age and the woman he porked at a hotel or his office passed away a decade or so go."

"Holy shit." Maria pinched the bridge of her nose. "You mean to tell me the boy is dating a bastard daughter to the investor that gives you trouble? Oh heavens no. Not happening. Not dignified."

"Hold on." Eito put a hand up. "Let's sleep on this."

"You aren't sleeping because it looks like your blood pressure is up. I'll talk to him tomorrow. I'm currently not doing it over my meal tomorrow night. Not ruining my dinner over a bad coversation."

Eito sighed and laid back down into bed. "I guess so." He went into the nightstand drawer to get a medication to help aid his stress. "Nothing else we can do really."

"We can put our foot down. There is plenty of fish out there. He's not dating someone we are having a problem with." Maria said firmly.

"Very well then. I'll inform him tomorrow. He's not dating her."

"I'm not too worried honestly. They haven't even gotten that far. Doubt it will get there now."

"Don't worry Honey, I won't allow it." Maria went back over to grab her glasses and her book. "Now relax. The least thing anyone needs is you being so grumpy."

"I'm not." He cried.

"Yet. We'll see if you sleep. If you toss and turn all night mister big shot in the suit becomes Eito the Dragon." She giggled.

"Is that nice?"

"Dragons aren't a bad thing you know. Until it opens its mouth."

"Good night Dear..."
