Chapter 5 - Identity
What do the girls and Fuutaro think? What about (FN)'s parents?
Enjoy.
~~~~~
The two really enjoyed their tea date. Miku and (FN) finished up and waved goodbye to Yumi and Chidori on the way out and they proceeded to walk home. Miku's building was closer and both were right on schedule. They walked on the sidewalk and both in that flustered with the events taken place. Everywhere they go and others smile. Standing next to each other they look adorable. People passing by would think they are together potentially. All they need to do is hold hands. But both thought that just wasn't at that stage yet.
Miku looked down the sidewalk and started to see that her stop was close by. It was starting to get late. Dinner was going to be served for both very soon. She was working up what words to say to her date. Something not game related. Something in the realm of being kind, appreciative, and her wanting him around again.
The two walked in front of her complex door. She turned around and bowed to him. "I can't tell you how much I enjoyed today." With a blush and a smile she said her goodbye.
"I liked today too. Want to text me when you're available tonight?"
She nodded. "Please."
"I'll miss you." He wasn't smooth talking. (FN) was being sincere. This was his first legitimate woman interest. They weren't boyfriend and girlfriend, but he wanted it. She clearly showed the signs too. Though so early to tell. "I hope I can at least say goodnight."
"I will let you know. Don't overwork yourself. I'm only on the game tonight to collect my daily things for a few minutes and that will be it. I'll text you when I get in my pajamas?"
"Will do. Bye for now Miku." He waved.
"Enjoy." Miku turned around and went into the front door of her building. She walked to the elevator and couldn't be happier. The girl wished she had more confidence and blushed less, but she loved going out for tea and being treated so special. As she headed up she giggled and sighed in relief. Excited but so relieved that she wasn't going to be in front of her crush anymore.
As she made her way in her sisters and Fuutaro looked over. Nino in her apron as she was preparing food was going to be on her sister's case. "Welcome home." Nino glared at Miku. "Want to tell us about this guy who is apparently so dreamy?"
"Dreamy? I don't know." Miku just wanted to curl up in a corner.
"What do you mean you don't know?" Huffed Nino.
"Easy does it. Come here Miku." Ichika was offered her a seat next to her. "Tell us how you had fun today."
"Okay." Miku was nervous because she thought everyone was looking straight at her. The center of attention wasn't a place she wanted to be. "Do you want to know something?"
"His name is (FN) right?" Asked Ichika.
"Yes. He lives a few buildings up ahead too. His father is a businessman."
"What's his mother do?" Asked Yotsuba.
Miku gasped. She felt like something was wrong. "He never mentioned her..."
The girls thought this was strange. "No mention?" Pondered Ichika. "Maybe he is like us in a way?"
"Let's not rule out divorce mind you." Fuutaro shook his head. "Girls, my sister was the same age when the five of you lost your mother. I was older but it still took me sometime. It was a numb feeling. It still doesn't go away. Let's not dwell and move on. Only fair."
The girls looked at each other and were saddened. Sad of all about the talk of his old man and his mother didn't get a word of any of the conversation. Though the questions went around the whole table with Nino by the kitchen counter. She wanted a say.
"You think there is a chance we would know who his father is? But let's get to the juicy stuff. Where did the two of you go?"
"Healing Dragon. He told me about his ties there." Told them.
"Woah. We order to go all the time there. He owns the place?" Gasped Itsuki.
"His father is friends with the owner. He helped invest it. We had some tea and had some snacks. It was amazing inside. We had a great time. I still feel nervous and blushing the whole time, but it was nice." Miku gave them the clear, important hint.
"Good. Let's invite him over." Suggest Ichika.
"Let's not..." Miku blushed.
"Why? What's the big deal?"
"I'm not ready for it..."
"Considering my first few times around, I kind of get where she's coming from." Fuutaro knew too well that these girls had intentions. Yotsuba not so much. But Nino was going to law down the law hard, Ichika was going to get information out of him, and Itsuki would use a friendship like charm to see who the real person was. "Shall I get into that? Or leave it be."
"Point made. But she can't be his girl next door forever." Ichika pointed out.
"Yeah. That would mean the trust isn't all there. A guy with money can't just act all high and mighty and play around our sister." Itsuki pouted.
"Rich people talking about guy's can't throw money around. Riiight." Fuutaro shook his head. "Maybe I can talk to him."
"You can?" Asked Miku.
"He know you have four sisters?"
"Yes." Miku nodded.
"Does he know that I'm the tutor?"
"No."
Fuutaro smiled. "Can't say I'll dig right in and scoop everything up, but I can put in a good word tomorrow if I see him. If Ichika you give me his homeroom since I'm sure you have that already."
The oldest sister giggled. "Yes I do. 216."
"I thought so." Fuutaro looked over at Miku who had no control over the matter. But deep down, it was because no one wanted her to get hurt. She was too sensitive to be hurt by a boy in high school.
~~~~~
After watching her walk in, (FN) turned to his building as well. Up the elevator and to the his front door. Going through to swap his shoes as Makia, Maria, and a man that looked just like him in the kitchen. The man was in a light blue collared shirt with short dark hair. He smiled as the boy walked through.
"Just in time as I had hoped. How goes it?" Asked the man.
"Good Dad. Just give me one second. Let me put my bag down and wash my hands."
"Take your time. We haven't started yet." He nodded and watch (FN) leave for his room and to wash his hands.
Maria looked over to him. "Are you going to tell him Eito? Or are you going to wait?"
"As soon as he sits down for dinner? No. Why? I'd almost rather bring up politics." Eito reasoned.
"Aren't you curious how he has never had a girlfriend up until now? How you're getting up in age? You'll be 50 before you know it." Huffed Maria.
"I don't care if I'll be 60. Concept remains." Eito sipped a glass of water.
Makia was continuing his rounds for the dinner table. "60 isn't bad at all Sir. You are in fine health."
"Have you dealt with someone older than that?" Asked Eito.
"Currently Sir. As a young man around age 25 I had to earn the trust of Sir Patrick Fuller. He worked at a factory and moved up into operations and he had retired five years prior to my position. I had to earn the trust of him and Lady Ethel. Once they reached their 80s they had set up other arrangements and it was time for me to move on. Good man, semi-brilliant, with a wife of nearly 70 years." Makia must have other great stories to tell. This gentleman is just the man. What a story teller he could be.
(FN) came to the table and Maria was trying to figure out a unfamiliar smell in the air. "Did you go anywhere today Hun? Besides school?"
"The tea shop."
"Healing Dragon? You see Yumi and Chidori?" Asked Eito.
"I did. They seemed happy. Place seemed to be doing good. The tour was excellent."
(FN) didn't know but he gave up the details of him being with somebody. No one orders the tour that they serve alone. Eito smiled. "So who did you go with?"
(FN) didn't want to lie or give all of it away. "You're probably going to think this is crazy Dad, but I got a real good story for you. Not like Makia's or anything, but something that I didn't quite expect."
Eito finished chewing a roll he picked out for himself. "I'm game. What is it?"
"I play a game online on my computer. It involves real people. I don't know how popular it is in comparison to everything else, but there is a girl that plays the same game and does the same activities that I do that I just somehow met at a vending machine at school. I had no idea until we started talking."
Eito was curious. Not sure what to make of it. He smiled even though he wanted more details. "That's funny. So tell me. How did this all go about?"
"I put in a coin and press the button for matcha. She goes next. All out. I offer it to her and we talk for a bit. I'm just as amazed as you really."
"Well (FN) you get your looks from me but with your mother's eyes. I just know academically you're sound and I have been concerned about your social skills but thought after or during college you would be fine." Eito was now at his son's full attention. "So, anything with this? It going anywhere?"
"You know Dad I feel and I'm rolling with it but no label on it yet. One time at a tea shop in person. I think both of us are uncertain."
Maria wanted in on this too. "How's the looks?"
"Adorable. Now I know what you and Dad are thinking. A computer nerd or something. No actually. Cute girl. Her name is Miku Nakano."
"Nakano huh." Eito was giving it thought. "He the guy that does the bread?"
"I doubt it. Her building his a few buildings down. You got to be the CEO of a bread company to live in this part of the city." What (FN) said might have been good or bad.
"Hmmm. Nakano. Well, hope its not the other one I'm thinking about. But I digress. Look, you know how to be polite and I'm sure you know how to treat a woman. At least you damn well better know. Or else you, Makia, and a few women I know will smack you around like Ni-chan downtown that owns the deli."
"Hey. No threatening murder." Flinched (FN).
"I'm not." Defended Eito.
"Oh yeah? Last time I checked all the animals in the deli are dead. How's that analogy working for you?"
"Enough Eito. No threatening murder." Eased Maria.
"Thank you." Nodded (FN).
"However, you realize we'll need approval of the girl at some point."
"Are we really doing this right now? Approve? Come on. Why is that? We aren't by class are we?" (FN) wanted this answered right now. He wasn't dropping this by any means.
"To see if she is good enough for you." His father shrugged.
"Dad. Your third wife is a retired upscale bartender. You're a one-percenter. I'm not in a high class prep school. I got my grades up to pick almost any university in the country and she isn't changing the fact. What is it?"
Eito saw his son stick up for himself. "Well then. You gave this much thought. Very well. If you know she's a bad egg I'll trust your judgement. Carry on. Let's be positive and eat. I know you have homework and everything else."
Makia turned back to the refrigerator for drinks. There you go boy. You did well. The butler smiled and carried on his business. Happy that he had learned from his father's mistakes.
~~~~~
Well I'm not married, but I would hope people would see a pattern in this. I mean, he dense?
