Chapter 4: Fimbulwinter

Scene One

Seneca watched from the Nursery as Yrsa, Argent, and Valor were packing their things to go on their journey to the beam of light coming from the mountains.

Her ears were pinned back slightly, and her gaze held disappointment. She wanted to go, she really did, but...

Her tail bushes again her swollen stomach. She had to stay safe, so her kits could stay safe. So that when the time came, her kits would be able to be safe and warm and with her and her friends and family.

Her ears drooped more. Family... she missed her mother. She had hopped when she had kits, her mother would have been there for be by her side and show her with her love and affection.

But... Sunna was...

"Little One?" Seneca snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Gunhuer's voice. The molly was normally quiet and never really spoke that much, besides making smart jabs at those who actually talked to her.

The Queen gently licked at her kit's head. The kitten didn't move, Seneca could see the sudden fear on Gunhuer's face.

She started to shake her gently, nosing her, and give her licks of her tongue. Gunhuer looked to her the other queen. "Go fetch the healers!"

Seneca nodded, getting to her paws and hurrying out to go get Estrid and Norell.

By the time they had gotten back, Estrid sniffed over the kit. She placed her ear to the kit's side. A sad look came over her, her tail dropped and her eyes closed.

Seneca had gotten Gunhuer away for the Healers to work, standing just a few steps away. Seneca flinched as she saw Estrid's looks, knowing what that look meant.

Gunhuer let out a yowl of sorrow as she collapsed to the ground. Seneca and Norell joined her, comforting her, while Estrid gently picked up the kit's small body.

Gunhuer cried into their pelts, mumbling over and over. "My little Penelope... my baby..."

Scene Two

Yrsa lifted the pack Eir and Estrid had made for her and the others. Packs made with nimble twigs and vines Eir had gone to Vanahiem to get just for them to use.

The Valkyrie smiled to them, helping Argent tighten his strap. "I would go with you, but the other may need me. But, if anything happens, take this."

Eir reached into the packs, and pulled out a small gloeing seed. "Smash this, and you all will be transported here. Each of you have one just in case."

Valor nodded. "Thank you, Eir. We'll be back as soon as we can," he said, his head held high as he stood tall.

Eir smiled. "You all just be careful. Who knows what could be out there-"

"Estrid! Norell!"

The cats jumped when the sudden cry sounded from the den. Seneca could be seen running out of the Nursery, and going into the Healer's Den.

All of their ears perked up at the commotion. Eir pushed them to the entrance of camp.

"Go on, you all should get going."

A loud booming voice was heard announcing Fimbulwinter has arrived. A discussion chain will be place for everyone to discuss what this means and what to do.

A strange bright beam of light is coming from across the valley. Yrsa, Argent, and Valor have been chosen to go and investigate.

There is now an Activity Chain!

Jaws and Kit 1 have passed away, they must be buried this moon...

Fox: +(double level number) during fights)

(Opposed to what you would think, because Tyr was the God of War and the peace that falls after, once every attack, you will be able to refill up to three cat of your choosing's energy by +1, meaning they will have at least 1 energy once the battle is over.)

Eir has been left behind to watch over the Children.
