Chapter 3: White Lion

Scene One

  
Atreus sat by the medical den, watching Estrid and Norell work on making a big enough patch for their new visitor.

Kratos, the white lion, groaned as he laid in the snow, the two Healers having climbed on top of him to reach his wounds on his back.

François watched with an unamused look on his face from across the camp. Why where they still here? Atreus helped hunt, but why did they have to have the lion that LITERALLY ATTACKED THEM stay here?

"Not trusting those two either?" François turned his head, finding Lunmir coming to sit next to him.

The white tom gave a small smile while looking to the other tom. François looked back over, seeing Atreus excitedly telling Kratos about something, a large grin on the small tom's face while the lion just stared at him, a stone cold look still on his face.

"I mean, the lion did attack us and all. He almost killed Gunnr," Lunmir muttered. François looked back to him.

"That's what I've been saying, but no one listens. What I want to know is why Sigrun only left Gunnr and not someone else. I get that she's strong, but all he did was bite her and look at her," he grumbled, before pointing over to the other side of camp.

Gunnr sat in the snow, licking her injuries, her hurt wing still hanging limply. She had stayed away from the Godlings, and hadn't spoken to hardly anyone.

Lunmir gave a small hum, his ears down. "They basically left us... what kind of guardians are they if one of their generals couldn't even protect herself?"

François huffed. "At least Eir is coming back. I overheard Sigrun and Gunnr talking when miss fancy wings came to check on us after the attack. Apparently Gunnr is gonna be replaced with Eir or something for the time being."

"At least Eir will be more helpful then her," Lunmir muttered.

"Hopefully."

Scene Two

Starlight twinkled through the thick clouds during the icy cold night. Gunnr was sitting in the snow, while Sigrun sat on a tree branch a bit above her, her golden wings shivering from the cold. Or, perhaps, the angry Gunnr could physically feel coming off of her.

"What did I do wrong?" Gunnr growled, "I was just trying to help. We know how dangerous he could have been."

Sigrun shook her head. "Gunnr, you jumped in before you could see what was happening. You need to have faith in the Children that they can protect themselves. What could have happened if attacking him made it worse?"

Gunnr groaned, her fur bristled, and her injured wing put in a sling Eir had made for her. "Sigrun, my Queen, you and I both have heard the stories."

"Yes, and that means you should know more than anyone else how easily he could have hurt you, or ripped your wings from you. Did you want to end up like Gna?"

"I thought we agreed to never talk about Gna," Gunnr growled.

"That isn't the point. Listen, for now, you will stay and only offer to train. I will send Eir first thing in the morning to help take care of the Children since it seems like you can't do it on you're own."

"Sigrun-"

"Enough, Gunnr. Back to your nest with you, little sister."

Gunnr growled, and her fur seemed to bristle more. "Is this all about Freya?"

Sigrun growled at the other Valkyrie, and her wings opened and making herself appear bigger. "Go, Gunnr."

"So it is..." she whispered, before turning and walking off back to her nest that located in one of the pine tree around camp.

"Freya shouldn't have made you in charge."

The White Lion, Kratos, was able to be talked into peace last moon! He has offered to train cats as to make up for his attack.

Atreus will now be able to join hunting patrol. When he joins, they're in a 20% chance of bringing home some massive prey!

Kratos was fully healed last Moon!

Gunnr is not going to be able to train this moon due to being hurt!

Sylvie ranked up to become a fully fledged Daughter of the Gods!

Demier ranked up to become a fully fledged Son of the Gods!
