#70
Before you get to the story, I have to announce something.
I noticed that many people skipped the previous chapter because I updated two chapters at once. So a reminder, if you haven't read #69 do that now before you go on or you would be lost.
"We didn't come here to talk about JJ. If you don't mind, let's get to business now shall we?" The headmaster suddenly said.
"But…" I started only to be cut short by a thick glare from the headmaster.
It annoyed me so much that he stopped the questions. I mean, was I a guardian or not? And all the new information got me thinking. Did I even know myself? Because everywhere I went, people seemed to know more about me than even myself.
It was frustrating.
Cicero also agreed with me, she was annoyed at the fact new things kept popping up.
"So, what information do you have on the demon attacks?" Headmaster asked.
It was as if that question was a switch. As soon as the demons were brought up, Agwam's face twisted into the biggest frown. He looked so angry that I began to wonder what he was about telling us.
"For a very long time now, Laccamees were considered extinct. And we liked it that way. No one gave us trouble and we gave nobody trouble, we ad been living in peace for a long time until the demons attacked us one day.
They killed many of our people all in search of the sharp blade."
"When exactly did this attack happen?" Headmaster asked.
"Three months ago. It was after this attack that we decided to leave our ome and refuge to stay ere.
That's when one of our Egi leaders ad a vision about the demons. They needed our blade as well as the sacred object from all supernaturals.
I believe they've got control over the witches, the wolves, and the elves. All they need now is the blue orb from Valkyries and our sharp blade."
"What do they need it for?" Dean asked the question on everyone's mind.
"I'm afraid I don't know the specifics, all we know is that they are trying to open a portal. Bringing together all the sacred objects is very dangerous. And if they insist on doing that, it can only mean one thing.
They have a dark object. And a dark object channels the energy of the underworld. Which means whatever portal they are trying to open is not of this world." The agwan finished.
"Damn… this isn't good I presume?" I asked.
"JJ, this is worse than bad." Meg answered, " We thought we were in a war with just demons. But now we know we are at war with demons that have a wild purpose."
The headmaster looked more disturbed than all of us put together, it wasn't until he spoke that we knew the reason why. "This is worse than even what the elders thought. There is only one reason why the demons would open a portal to the underworld. It is to release who they call their Messiah."
"What!"
"Ohh deity!"
"Holy shit!"
"Yes, the prophecy."
"Ok, hold up," I screamed." What a prophecy."
"What could turn a warrior weak?" Agwam spoke.
"What could make a aart sink?
What could make hands bleed?"
That was the warnings from my dream and the prophecy from both the werewolves and Valkyries and now the Laccamees too.
"It's their so-called Messiah, it was a warning that he is coming," Jody whispered with apprehension.
"We all thought this had something to do with JJ," Ro said, looking at me.
Me? Why the hell would they think that?
"You are not wrong," Agwam responded.
"That was the prophecy given to us by the ancestors, but the demons ave their prophecy. I don't know what it is, but I know that they fear someone or something called Redder."
At that, I was rendered speechless. My jaw nearly hit the ground, and the cold I had been feeling returned with vengeance.
"What?" I said breathlessly.
No one but me had heard that name before, it was my name: the name Cicero called me, the name the celestial spirit called me. And now, the demons are afraid of me? Naa, I couldn't believe it.
But as the Agwam stared at me, I knew it was true and he knew exactly who Redder is.
As the headmaster and Captains all followed his line of sight, they were also rendered speechless.
"That is why I said we were wrong," the headmaster said. "She is not a guardian, she is Redder."
"But… What the hell does Redder even mean?"
"Who cares what it means. All we interpret it as is the only thing feared by the demon Messiah."
"Yeah right," I snorted. "As you can see, I'm all dangerous and mighty. Of course, all demons bow at my feet because of how powerful I am. Even the demon messiah is scared of me. JJ the human demon slayer." I got some laughs from the Captains while the headmaster shook his head.
At first, I was human with strange tingles, then I became a human who could breathe Valhalla air, and then I became a gifted human, and moved into a gifted human with a voice in her head, and then I had enemies in my dream and became a guardian, now I am Redder, the demon messiah slayer? Wow, interesting. I thought bitterly.
"That is the reason we stopped you from going to ell. You might ave thought you were going to get information from a demon-witch, but what you didn't know is that the werewolf pack had been compromised, and all your plans had been given to the demons, they were waiting for you all already."
"We appreciate your help, but I have to ask, why exactly did you help us?" Dean asked.
"alf my people are dead, and as much as I want to match up to ell and kill all the demons I find, I can't do that yet. They are smart and no matter aw many demons you kill, they will keep multiplying. They ave a power supply that gives them energy. The more you kill, the more they increase."
"So, what do you need us for? What is your plan?" Dean asked.
"Simple. We ave to destroy that power supply."
"If it's that easy, why didn't you do it already? As far as we know, you have capable warriors." Meg added.
"Yes, the problem is that we can't. Based on our theory, there is only one person capable of breaking that power supply." Agwam replied and stared directly at me.
"Wow, I guess it's Redder then?" I asked and he nodded.
"The power supply, far as I know, is the dark object that the demons try to use to open the portal. And the only thing that can stop the power of a dark object is another dark object…" Before he could complete his statement the headmaster spoke abruptly.
"That is not going to happen"
I was surprised to hear the anger in the headmaster's voice. What the hell did he mean?
"That is the only way." Agwam insisted, but the headmaster heard none of it.
"I won't allow her to be in possession of a dark object, not only are we putting everyone in danger by going into hell, you want us to take a dark object with us?"
"It's the only way, eadmaster. If I could take old of the dark object myself, I would ave did that already, but you know that dark objects cannot be used without poisoning the soul and aura of anyone with an ability."
"What!" We all screamed in unison.
"So you want us to do it instead of you so we can get poisoned?" Jody asked in shock.
"No, no, no. Don't you get it? er, powers would not allow that." He said regarding me. "She as a gift that overshadows every other gift. Nothing can penetrate er aura if she wills it.
You av all witnessed er powers, she can suppress er aura and anyone's too, in fact, she can conceal er physical body. I don't think any dark object can poison er."
We all became calm soon after.
I knew they were all scared for me, but according to Agwam's theory, it was the only way and there was no way in hell that I would sit back while I could do something about it. Without even thinking much about it, my mind had been set.
"So, this dark object, where exactly is it? Let's test your theory shall we."
