#64

What the hell!

They all looked at me the same way Wulf had done.

I looked behind me to be sure there wasn't a ghost creeping up behind me.

Surely there were none, so what the heck was their problem. A slight ting of pain in my head, alerted me of Meg trying to get into my mind, but I guess it didn't work as I noticed her retreat back with a sluggish blink.

"Will someone tell me why you all are staring at me like that?"

At my outburst, they all shifted their gaze from me. Some had the decency to at least feel embarrassed.

"Oh, Sorry about that JJ," Jobber started, " You just seemed a little different."

"A little?" Jody added, " try totally different, I almost thought one of the Elders had walked in."

"What? You can't be serious," I laughed out. " What made you think that?"

"It's your au... ouch." Jobber immediately stopped to glare at Ro who had apparently kicked him.

"What was that for!"

Meg quickly intervened by motioning with her arms for me to sit. "We don't have all day. I will fill you all on the plan after we eat."

~~~~~~
I had never had a very awkward breakfast before like the one I just had. At first it was just weird glances they threw at me, then it changed to blatant staring. To say I was uncomfortable was an understatement.
The only person who didn't try to hide the blatant look was Dean. He, instead, tried to catch my eye, I didn't understand why or what he was trying to say by blinking fast at me. All the looks got under my nerves and before anyone could talk, I exploded.
"What the bloody hell is wrong?  Because to God and man, if no one tells me what happened and keep staring at me that way, I will..." I didn't know where I was going with the threat, but I had had enough.
"Okay, calm your horses down will you."  Surprisingly,  it wasn't any of the captains who spoke. It was the Alpha wolf.
" I don't know why they aren't saying anything,  but I can literally feel your aura on my skin.
"What?"
"Yeah, it's strange as well as terrifying.  Could you maybe tone it down a little,  I feel as if you are trying to strangle me. "  Luna lily added.
" Tone down my aura? Strangle you? What the hell are you talking about?"
I turned to Meg, then Ro, Jody, Jobber, Enga even to Dean. But they all avoided my eyes,  well all except Dean, who was full glaring at me.
Did I miss something?  What were they trying to tell me without actually telling me?
Well, if they weren't going to outwardly say it, then it wasn't important.
"Meg, go on with the plan then. Where exactly and what are we looking for?"
She stood up, and walked into the seating room were a table sat with papers scattered on it. We all followed her and stood round the table.
I recognized the papers as maps and directions.  "As far as we know from Dean's report, the rogues are in this area." She tapped a spot with a red x on it. All we need to do it get there."
"This is the tricky part," Alpha continued.
"We had already sent scouts ahead, to know what we are getting into, but it was reported back missing."
"What? The scouts are missing? " I didn't even realize that it was my voice that had raised the question.
"No, not the scouts.  The whole portion of the forest where the rogue base is what is missing."
"What! How is that even possible? " This time around  it was Enga who raised the question.
"Yeah, how can a whole land disappear?" Jody asked.
"That's also the thing, it didn't disappear,  it's still there, but it's out if reach, we cannot access it."
"How can't we access it, we were literally from there, I mean I was there physically."
"We don't know. " Meg answered
"Then what exactly is the plan? Ro said.
"The plan is to find an entrance."
"How exactly are we to find an entrance from non-existing places." I asked with a grumble.
"If you shut up and let her speak, we would find that out." Wulf spat out.
"Of course, my bad." My blood pumped heat all over, I could feel tingles running through my skin, not the bad tingles. No, the excited one.
What the hell is wrong with me?
Meg cleared the table, and placed only a few papers on it. She spread them open and revealed what lay inside.
I took in a deep breath,  shock laid deep within me, I could feel the hairs on my skin stand. My pulse quickened, all I could see was what laid on the table, my blood boiled with rage, and I stared down at the paper wishing it to burn. The witch who had tortured me, what was her picture doing on the table?
A heavy slap to my cheek brought me out of my thoughts.  I blinked my eyes open to notice the look everyone had on their faces. Only when I looked down did I see why they stared.
Literal steam came off my body in waves, I was so angry at the sight of the picture that I had activated the mist power. I brought my hands up to see that the white mist, or steam floated all around me.
"Damn JJ, this is beautiful!  This is the mist power you spoke of? " Jody gleefully asked.
"Yep, the very one."
All the excitement went down the drain as the mist slowly disappeared and all the awe struck look in their faces went away with it.
Come on! It didn't even last a minute.
"Ok, back to our plan." Dean spoke.
"Yeah, so we need to find this woman. According to your report," she said looking at Dean. " She is the witch who sides with the rogues, and its only a spell from a very powerful witch that can hide a whole pack land."
"Wait..." It took a moment to  realize it was I who had spoken. What was I about to say?
Something didn't feel right,  I tried hard to remember why it seemed off. This woman, if I remember correctly fought with Dean before we escaped.  Even though I was in a comatose state at the time, I still remembered her scream as she burned of Dean's fire. Hadn't she died?
"That witch should be Dead, I know it. Dean killed her right before we escaped." I turned to Dean. "Didn't you kill her? I might have been out of it, but I remember you clearly killing her."
They all stared at the both of us in confusion, "Did you burn her Dean?" Ro asked.
Of all the glares Dean had given me in my stay here, this had to top the most deathly glare ever. He stared at me as if I was a fool to mention anything.
"Yes," he answered roughly.
"Yes I burnt her, but she isn't dead."
"That's not possible Dean, no witch can survive a fire, much less 'your fire.'" Enga replied.
He didn't reply or say anything after that, he only looked at Meg, and with just a blink,  she took in a jagged breath. The way her pupils depleted and her lips shot open surprised me more than anything.
I looked at the other captains to notice same or worse expressions on their faces. I could almost hear the fast pace of their heartbeat.
This is bothersome, with just a blink of his eye, they all seemed to understand something that put fear in their bones.
"What the bloody moon?" Luna Lily asked
I totally forgot that I wasn't the only one completely ignorant of what just happened.
"Yeah, could you fill us in." Alpha replied.
"She isn't dead." Meg stated.
"Yeah we figured," I replied. "Why the long faces though?"
"If we want to find out more or anything about what is happening?  We need to find her first, and get into that land."
"You aren't telling us what we don't know,  what is going on in that head of yours?" I spoke directly to Dean.
Meg answered instead. "She isn't just a witch. She is a Demon witch."
It was as if a light bulb exploded in the minds of the Alpha and Luna, their expressions morphed into that of horror.
But all that information did to me was confuse me more.
"What exactly is a demon witch?"
At my question,  a cold silence swept over the place as if afraid to anger said demon witch. Until Dean answered.
"The witch you saw there, wasn't real, she was a mere projection of the real deal."
"Mere projection?  Just like how we see the headmaster through Meg's eye?"
"No, a demon witch can't do that, what she does instead, is to make herself into many others."
"Wait, you mean like a clone?"
"Eh, I have no idea what that means, but if it means several others that look exactly like her, and possess little bits of her power then yes clones."
"Damn, so what we saw and fought there was just a clone, who possessed half of her power?"
"No, not half. The clone had a tiny speck of her power." Ro spat.
"The main fear is why and what exactly was she doing with the rogues." Jobber whispered as if scared of asking that question.
"That is exactly what we are going to find out." Dean replied.
"Wait, I remember them looking for a blue seal, that's what they had been asking me for."
We all turned to the Alpha and Luna.
"Yes, that is what we also don't understand,  the blue seal, as far as we know has been destroyed, years ago."
"Huh!"
"Yes, twelve years ago to be precise, the blue seal was what kept all the werewolves packs together.  But after the fall and destruction of the Green Wood pack, the blue seal which was in possession of the Green wood Alpha, was never found again. We thought it had been taken by the rogues who had destroyed the pack, but now we doubt that."
"This is getting more interesting,  let me get this straight.
The blue seal is missing,  the demon witch and rogues want it, we don't know why they need it and all these might be connected to the demon attacks on Valhalla?" I rushed out.
"So," Jobber continued.  "We are going in search of the demon witch in order to find out what she knows or a way to get into the rogues land?"
"Exactly,"  Dean answered.
"How do we know where to search?" I asked.
"There is only one place demon witches stay."
"Uh, let me guess, hell?"
That was only meant to be a sarcastic answer, It was only to bring humor to the table. But I guess I hit the nail right on the head.
"Yes," Meg answered." We are going to hell."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We had packed everything we needed and we were already on our journey,  but I couldn't keep the thoughts of going to hell out of my mind.

"Meg come on, surely you do not mean 'hell hell' right?"

"I mean come on, we aren't actually marching to hell are we?"

"Wulf!! It's just a joke right, it's really not 'hell.'"

"Oh no, I don't want to go to hell come on, tsk, its not hell. I'm sure its just a name, not the real hell."

"I don't know what you think the real hell is," Ro finally answered me. " but in this place,  hell is where demon witches live."

"First of, there is more than one demon witch? And secondly,  If demon witches live in hell then where do the devil live?"

"Of course there are thousands of demon witches, and the devil is dead."

Let's just say that after that proclamation I became speechless,  in fact I couldn't think clearly anymore .

The devil is dead? Thousands of demon witches? And we so happen to be going straight into hell looking for their queen? Could anything surprise me more than this?

Apparently, the answer to that last question was yes, because just after that thought,  as we strolled down the woods,  the unmistakable voice of the prince, of the guardian, Dean, sounded not out loud, but inside my head.

"Banshee" he said. "Do not make the mistake of speaking what had happened last night,  or a matter of fact, do not ever speak of your dreams to anyone if you want to stay alive."

Shock lead me to stumble to the floor, hitting my head in the process.

The laugh I heard next was only in my head. Then a whisper also in my head.

"Such a fool."

I am totally crazy.
