JJ POV.

I couldn't help but compare the night with my own state of mind. Just like those clouds, my insides were in a chaos. A mess. Something bothered me. Something was hurting me. Something felt so wrong, so invalid, but I couldn't tell what. I tried to pinpoint the cause of this unexplained pain, but failed. I tried to reason this unbearable burning, but didn't find any. Everything felt so confusing like a jumbled set of puzzle.

For shorter periods of times I woke up, I saw Dean trekking the forest with another girl in front.

Then the other times I was asleep, I saw a woman dressed in a magnificent white dress, she stroked my hair while whispering soft words to me.

"She is alright," she said.

"Do not worry," she said.

"It was meant to be."

Those were the words she repeated over and over again.
It made no sense to me, I couldn't even remember why I had been hurt in the first place, why did Dean carry me on his back as if I was broken? Why did he never put me down except at night? Even when I heard the girl offering to carry me, he rebuked her. Why?

These thoughts kept playing in my mind till I fell asleep again, and went back to the comfort of the woman.

I could hear a soft melody, a woman singing a strange song with the most exulting voice. A Wave of calmness crashed into me, making me take a deep breath.

The feeling of having my hair played around with making me smile. Flowers were scattered all around me, I could perceive the strong scent of the earth, mixed with a feel of freshness. The sound of water waves crashing around me, giving me peace.

But in all these, it was the soft caress of my hair that got to me the most, I wanted to sleep for eternity while listening to the enticing song, I wanted to hug the soft skin that held onto me tight. It was paradise, I couldn't think about all the heaviness in my chest, and I could breath.

"Child! You have to wake up now."

The voice had seized it's melody, instead, it was replaced by an insistent voice, pulling me out of my slumber.

"Dear child, you cannot sleep forever, it is time, and everything must happen according to its time."

I had heard this voice before, but couldn't recall where. I didn't want to get up, but the voice kept insisting and saying annoying things about 'time'.

I opened my eyes to take in the scenery, and gasp out loud at the beauty staring back at me. I was in a garden, it didn't look exactly like a garden as it had an unending field of flowers. A fresh, clear stream was situated opposite me, making me wonder where I was.

I glanced behind me, only to gasp out louder than before. I knew where I heard that voice.

It was from the woman with the overflowing white dress and black hair I constantly saw in my dreams.

Is this also a dream? I wondered. But the only thing different from all the other dreams was that I actually never saw her face.

I stared into eyes that could be mistaken for diamonds, her skin was so soft that it glittered, literally. Her hair wasn't just a bland black color, it was a black that called to me, making my fingers twitch. I wanted desperately to touch her hair.

"Are you an angel?" I couldn't help but glance her back to check if there were wings, but sighed in disappointment when I saw none.

"Oh dear child, you flatter me." She chuckled out, with a blush on her cheeks.

Did she just blush?! Damn! This dream freaked me out, it looked so real. She didn't look even a day over thirty, so why did she call me child?

"Uh! Who are you then?"

"You are safe here child, you don't need to be frightened. Come sit with me first. I know you have a lot of questions; I can't answer you like this, come sit down." She said pulling me to sit in front of her on the floor while she sat on a little rock, and began to braid my hair.

Weird dream, I thought as I smiled, enjoying her hands on my hair.

"I believe, you have some questions to ask, my dear child?" Her voice brought me out of my thoughts and I cleared my voice. I had so many questions, but I didn't seem to remember them right away, so I went with the basic question.

"Who are you? And where am I?"

"One question at a time Redder!"

"Redder? What is this Redder I have been called countless times?"

"You are not a patient one are you?" She asked laughing softly.

"Uh... I'm sorry," I blushed. "Please go on with the first question.

"I am a spirit, dear child, precisely a celestial spirit."

"Bloody hell!" I exclaimed."You're a ghost? A ghost! Am I dead? Oh my god! I am dead. How did I die? Who killed me? Am I in heaven?" My rant was broken off my a loud hysterical laugh.

"You remind me so much of my younger self. You are not dead dear child, well... not yet anyway."

"Thank goodness, for a minute there, I got scared" I replied, laughing nervously.
"But I don't understand, how can I see spirits?"

"Not all spirits, child, just this one," She said, pointing to herself.

"But why exactly? I'm sure you don't go around showing yourself to innocent victims."

"No, child, I don't do that. Time is ticking dear, choose your questions wisely.

"Okay, who are you? I mean, why am I here? Why have you appeared in my dreams?"

"You know, every being in life has what is called a spirit guardian. But none of them can actually see or communicate with the guardian, not even in dreams like this one. The guardians only offer their help in certain ways.

For Valkyries, the guardians send help in the form of a beast, it is called a Dier." So that was why Dean had a flying horse. It is his guardian beast, I thought.

"That's cool."

" Werewolves have their celestial spirits, the wolf part of them is actually a gift from their guardians.

For the Witches, their celestial spirit offers help in the form of magic. The witches summon their powers from their guardian spirits through the art of spell casting.

Fae's have been blessed with a light in their hearts from their guardian spirits. That is how it is, all beings are blessed with a helper from the celestial spirits.

"Okay... But I'm still confused, how is this related to me? Do humans also have celestial spirits?"

" It depends on the answer you give me. Have you heard, or experienced what is called a 'miracle'?"

"Wow, so you mean humans get a gift from the celestial spirits?"

"Every being does, but none except you have seen a celestial spirit."

"Why?"

"I'm not in the position to answer that, believe it or not, we, guardian spirits are not gods, we have limited knowledge as well.

I couldn't help but groan inwardly, it was disappointing, I wished she answered that question.

"Everything had been so weird, the very moment I came to this world, I even doubted if I was a human at a certain point. Ever since I came here, strange things had been happening to me," I grumbled.

"Are you certain Dear child?"

" About what?"

"You think strange things happened to you, only in this world?"

"Uh... well, I mean, apart from the tingles. Well, it's not actually that strange."

"Why do you say so?"

" To me, it's not strange because I can't remember a time when I didn't have it, it's like a part of me."

She listened quietly and kept braiding my hair as I spoke. She was so strange, but at the same time comforting.

"Dear child." Her soft, voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Only a fool believe in 'strange'."

Ouch! That hit a spot, I thought.

" But, remember one thing, only time can cure the foolish."

I felt just like I always did In my psychology class back on earth. She kept going round and round, without really telling me anything.
"So what you're trying to tell me, is that, nothing is strange, it just needs time to uncover itself," I replied proudly, my smartness starting to show itself.

" Only the foolish believe that there is nothing strange In this life."

"What? But you just said, nothing is strange!"

"Did I?"

"Uh... Just -- never mind." I couldn't believe it, I felt absolutely dumb.

"Time, Dear child, you need just time."

"So, apart from the miracles that I experience because I'm a 'human'," I said, putting a little bit of stress in the word human. " Do I have a gift from you? Like the ones Valkyries have."

I hoped I had one, I could imagine myself on a flying horse, that would be so cool. I giggled just thinking about the adventures I would go on.

"You will only receive the gift when you both accept and become one."

Please, can someone shoot me now, I cried in my heart, just what was she saying? She left me more confused than ever. Did I or did I not have a flying horse?

"Okay, what I understood is, I do have a gift, but I have to become one with the gift in order to have the gift?

" You are a smart one, dear child."

A smart one? I didn't even understand half of what I had said. I screamed in my brain. I hoped Cicero had been listening, since she always claimed she was the smart one. Maybe by some miracle, she would explain all this to me. Even saying the word 'miracle', had me thinking deeply.

I didn't know how to take this, honestly. I was still left with questions, but at least I was thankful that she had answered some.

"So, what is the meaning of Redder?"

"Redder Is from an ancient language of the spirit guardians, that means 'protector' or 'guardian'."

"Huh? I thought you were the guardians, so why do you call me guardian?" I questioned her, I was beyond confused.

"Why Is a king called a king?" She asked back.

"Uh--- because he is a king?"

"Good, now does that answer your question?"

"What has a king got to do with my question?" Why had she suddenly given me a riddle?

"You are very smart, dear child, you will soon find out the answer to that.
But right now, it is time to go back, your friends are worried."

"Wait," I said, stopping her. Do we get to meet again?"

"No matter how much I enjoyed our interaction dear child, I believe this is dangerous, there is a reason why spirits don't interact with mortals. So goodbye dear child."

The place began to spin around, while her face looked as if in a distance, I felt a pain that wasn't there before in my chest, my limbs ached, and then I released a deep wail, as I remembered the pain of losing someone.

But I also remembered one vivid question that I had forgotten to ask.

Just who the hell am I?
Then the world faded to black.
