#48

Above, is what I envision Achilie;  Dean's Dier to be.

I know y'all expected JJ 's POV, but don't worry,  this also good, or so I hope. We will get back to JJ in the next chapter.

Enjoy.

Mr Spock POV

The head master stared ahead with a look of dubiousness. A week had gone by and they still heard no word from the prince.

They were all scared, apart from the fact that the East had been attacked by the demons and the fact that the king of the north had been brutally injured; Valhalla in a whole had been put in a shock far greater than he believed possible.

The headmaster was seated with his friend; the healer, while they discussed what had transpired a few days ago.

"What do the elders say about it?" the healer inquired.

"Believe me, if they had said anything of value,  I wouldn't be here right now," the headmaster replied to him.

"What about the demon? I hear that the war elder gave him a visit, and to my understanding it wasn't a fruitful one was it?"

The headmaster released a long sigh, "the demon knew nothing,  he had only been a little pawn, and he had been given the spell to use on the guardian. The only thing we got from the demon is that it didn't go according to their plan because of the interrupted by JJ."

"How certain are you that the demon had been truthful?  It's not unheard of for a demon to be deceitful," the healer asked.

  "Yes, there was that concern, but after seeing the war elder's torture myself, I believed him. Not only that, he had seemingly taken a demon oath, for he dropped dead the minute he had revealed that."

"But that doesn't explain the traumatic pain that the whole of Valhalla felt. It's obvious it wasn't an emotion of the guardian,  we all felt his near death experience, but then it stopped and strengthened at once. But that was the exact moment we all felt an overwhelming emotion."

" Every Valkyrie is full of questions about that, it was overwhelming I agree, but what is more terrifying is the fact that it's only one person that comes to mind when I think of who's emotion it might be," the headmaster replied.

"I wonder what's going on with her,"the healer said.

"Just why isn't she a normal human?  I don't want her dragged into all of this. I feel at fault for everything going on with her right now."
The healer stared at his friend as if he couldn't believe his ears.

It had been so long, that the headmaster felt an emotion close to care, but what he  felt ran even deeper than caring. The headmaster wanted to agree with his friend about how good it was to have the Jay girl around,  but he couldn't, she would have been better off in her world. The war is at its edge and it terrified the headmaster even if he couldn't show it.

Whether he tried hard to deny it, he couldn't, she reminded him of her, whenever he saw JJ, he saw his dear daughter.
Shaking his head as if to clear his thoughts away, he stood up and bid his friend farewell.

His walk to his study was cut short when he heard the loud chatter in the courtyard, he went to the courtyard only to be once again rendered speechless.
Standing in front of him was a Pegasus, not just any Pagasus, but the alpha itself.  A spiritual, ancient beast thought to have gone rogue ages ago; stood tall with all its glory.

"Just where in the world did it come from?" He wondered out loud.

All the chattering stopped in the presence of the elders. The four looked confused for a brief moment, before they all masked their expressions.
He walked up to them, giving them a respectful bow.

The gift elder walked up to the giant, flying horse and placed his palm on its neck. After a few moments,  he released a sharp breath.

"It bears the mark of the guardian; it is the young guardian's chosen Dier," the gift elder breathed out.

"Just what in the heavens is going on?" the headmaster thought.

It wasn't surprising that the guardian had found his Dier, it was surprising that, of all the beasts, it was this particular one, no wonder no one knew about it. This Dier had been pronounced as a rogue, not just some rogue, but a demon rogue.

Not every Valkyrie warrior is blessed with  a particular Dier as their spiritual protectors, but it's only the strong Valkyries who have found and been marked by said Dier, not everyone was blessed with one, it was a gift only the gods could grant.

As far as everyone knows,  the guardian never found his Dier, But right now,  his mark stared back at them.

The headmaster almost took a step back in uncertainty. This beast had betrayed the Valkyries in the last war with the demons, fighting by their side. And all along, it had been the guardians Dier.

All the Dier's had  been affected, they aren't just normal beast, but they are spiritual beast. And for their alpha to go rogue made them weak and troubled.

But as the headmaster looked at the beast, he saw no sign of its past troubles, it wasn't a rogue anymore, that was clear.  But another question played in his head.

How did it heal? Not in the history of Valhalla had he got wind of a cured rogue.

The beast stared at them all, then as if it had concluded its mission,  it took to the air and disappeared from sight.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Seated in the hall of meeting once again with the captains, in the presence of the elders, the headmaster couldn't pretend anymore, things were going far from expected. The guardian had a demon rogue as a Dier? He couldn't come to terms with it.
The elders looked ahead with their glowing eyes, whatever was on their mind, was lost to the headmaster.
"The prince had found a way to send us a message," the elder of heart spoke, still with her blank gaze.
Gasps of surprise echoed through the hall. It wasn't shocking to hear that he communicated with them, no, what surprised the captains as well as the headmaster was the fact that Dean wasn't called 'the guardian': He had been called 'the prince'.
Never had they heard the elders call Dean in any other title, except 'the guardian'.
The gift elder spoke next. " The human girl is with him, and I'm sure by now, you all realized it had been her emotions we all felt."
The headmaster released a long sigh, he had hoped for a different outcome, now it was clear, she had been laced into their world already. It was left for the elders and their decision.
"The war elder cleared his throat to get the attention of the captains, as they whispered among themselves.
After getting their attention, he spoke.
"We have a last minute mission scheduled for all of you, including you, headmaster."
"That's right," the wisdom elder proclaimed. " Regrettably,  we still don't know where they both are, but the presence of the prince's Dier will help you find him, all you need to do is follow the tracks of the beast."
The four elders took turns to speak, giving them orders.
" Seeing the state of the beast and its relationship with the prince, it's safe to say that it isn't a new bond, instead, it's a very old and strong bond, and the mark on the beast seemed a decade ago," the war elder grumbled.
"So, you all will be split into two groups. The best trackers; Meg, Enga, Ro and Jody. You will go after the beast," the elder of heart instructed.
"Wulf, Jobber and Tharzar. You have a special mission, the kingdom of the Elves had been brutally attacked, but what we want you to find out is about a particular blue gem that had been taken in the cause of the attack.
Find out everything about that gem, and why it was heavily protected, as well as who the attackers are, if the information you get meets our speculation; then we would have a clue on the demons plan," the gift elder stated.
  "Mind you, the elves are heavily secretive, so you might want to go in with a plan," the wisdom elder finished.
"Then, as for you, headmaster.  We leave you to oversee the progress of the two missions, as well as the ones  to come."
"Unfortunately,  we won't be around for a while.  A very important and serious business has called to our attention."
"And the gods had left the war in our hands, we would do everything we can to win this war, which is why we have to depart."
"You might not see us for quite a while,  but everything and everyone are left to your care, headmaster. Make all the decisions before we return."
"One last thing," the wisdom elder announced. "By every means possible,  bring back the two guardians to Valhalla."
Saying their final words, they stood up, held hands and disappeared into the air, leaving behind a long scroll on the table.
As well as one big question in the minds of everyone present.
"Two guardians?"
