Chapter 3: Juno's POV

I felt a strange sense of pride and accomplishment as I walked out the door.

Maybe it was because I had finally stood up to those annoying girls.

Even though I had gotten kitchen duty for a month, I still thought of that lovely memory fondly. The looks of anger and surprise on their perfect, angelic faces.

It was priceless.

It's hard to think of that without cracking up. Ha.

I walked out the door and towards the picket fence. The gate was ajar, so I pushed it open farther and stepped into the garden.

The Valkyrie realm has many gardens, but that one was my favorite. I had always thought of it as the home garden I never had.

I looked at all the blooming flowers and sighed. Walking over to my favorite bench, I sat down on it and closed my eyes.

As soon as my eyes were all the way shut, I had a vision. I was flying over a city of some sort. I don't know how I know, but I knew what everything was.

There were roads with cars driving, and trucks honking, and there were buildings as tall as the sky.

I believe this was the place called, New York. I saw visions of Paris, Greece, an Germany.

Somehow I knew these places were in the Human realm, the place called Earth.

I was amazed that humans were able to do all of that, to create all of that without magic. I knew immediately that I wanted to visit. I ruffled the black feathers on my wings(yes, Valkyries have wings) and flew off back to the old brick house.

When I landed, I went to the only room that was locked besides mine. I knocked on the door and soon, the door opened.

A frail old Valkyrie stood behind it. Her name was Faun. She was one of the oldest Valkyries currently living.

Her thin, red lips curved into a smile.

"Come in, come in, darling," she said and stepped aside.

I walked in and sat on the bed. Faun closed the door behind me and sat next to me.

"What is it, Juno? I sense that you feel anxiety. Tell me everything," she said.

So I did. I told her everything that happened. I told her about the "trio of death," the vision, and everything else that I had kept bottled up inside me.

She told me everything was alright.

"I just don't feel right in here. I need to go somewhere else," I told her.

She smiled mysteriously.

"I have an idea. If you truly don't belong here, scour every nook and cranny of your closet. Keep looking," she said.

I asked, "What... Exactly am I looking for?"

Faun told me I would know it when I saw it. I thanked her and flew back to my room, knocking over a few annoyed Valkyries on the way.

When I got to my room, I slammed the door behind me. I flew around the room and looked. Then I found it.

A small hatch I thought was a garbage chute. I opened it. There was a dark opening.

I reached my arm in and felt around. Nothing special.

But then I thought, Do I really want to do this? To leave everything behind like this? To... To leave my childhood? Everything I've ever known is here.

I realized, I can't stay. Even though my house was here, it didn't feel like home. Home might be where I'm going.

It's not here, I told myself. I belong somewhere else. Not here.

Suddenly, the hatch began to glow. I fell backward in surprise. The hatch grew larger, now large enough for a full sized Valkyrie to fit through.

Definitely large enough for me to fit through. I took a deep breath, and climbed through the glowing, sparkling, golden hatch.

It's the author again! Thank you guys so much for making it this far! Read on! New chapters and updates out soon!
