The scene opens up with Montes currently waking up as he grabbed his M27 and he checked the ammo.

Montes: All right, I'm full.

He starts moving through the forest with his M27 in hand as he picked up his MK11 and slings it over him and he patrolled the woods by himself, scanning every single bush. He was obviously moving through, and then he heard an explosion and he starts running to avoid any incoming artillery fire.

Montes: Now what...?

He then arrived at two crossed roads as he saw a squad of Edinburgh Army troops, both of them being Squad E, and Squad F members: Christel Ward and Minerva Victor.

Raz: You try hustling with a huge cannon up your ass. Oh wait, you tried that and failed.

Minerva: Down boy... Claude, have you not housebroken your squad?

Montes: (In thought) What the hell does this damn woman think she's doing?

Raz: The hell did you say?

Claude: I'd appreciate it if you didn't insult my soldiers. They're people, not pets.

Minerva: Th-Then I expect them to act like it! I'm not the one wagging my tongue... Soldiers who step out of line are often the first ones to die. Remember that, Sergeant Raz.

Raz: Yeah, yeah. I hope you make it out too, Lieutenant.

Minerva got a bit pissed off.

Christel: Um, Commander? There's a good view from the clearing. Maybe we could brief them there.

As they kept talking, Montes decided to follow them while being undetected. They arrived at the clearing near Fort Krest. And during the briefing, Montes secretly got to a position with his MK11, hidden from the Imperials and Squad E and F. When the battle starts, he noticed that Squad E were the BLUFOR while the Imperials were OPFOR. So he decided to secretly provide sniper support.

As an Imperial Sniper aimed his ZM-SG 1 at Kai, Montes pulled the trigger on his MK11, saving her. She snapped to where the sniper was and she was unsure who shot him.

Kai: Enemy Sniper Down! Who shot him?

Raz: Not me!

Claude: Not me either! I didn't have a weapon on me, the only one I have is the Hafen!

Kai: I didn't shoot him if you're about to ask!

In the sniping position, Montes overlooked the ruins across the fort, where he then killed one of the operators of a Gatling Turret. He then kills the other one and he shot an Engineer with deadly accuracy. Squad E was astonished that some of the enemies they faced were instantly being killed already before they shoot.

They capture the position as incoming enemies try to reinforce the currently dead defenders in the ruins, but they get shot every time by Montes being extremely quick with his shots. They were actually granted access by Montes. They had one problem which was with the positions still in their hands, it's gonna be rough after being unable to get there. Claude had to find the answer for it, but Montes got on the radio.

Montes: Any stations this net, this is Misfit 1-3. Over.

Claude immediately answers on his radio.

Claude: Misfit, this is Second Lieutenant Claude Wallace, Squad E. Identify yourself.

Montes: Private First Class Dave Montes, US Marines, 1st Recon Battalion. Misfit Platoon.

Claude: Montes, where are you?

Montes: Check the trees away from the bridge. See any scope glint?

Claude had to check but there wasn't any scope glint. Until he realizes he wants him to look for him with his binoculars.

Claude: Haha, real funny there, 1-3. I can see you. You're the one who shot the Imps?

Montes: You mean those guys who you were all fighting? Yep.

As Montes said that, someone came up the radio.

Riley: Looks like you're in a tight spot, Cinderella. And I'm assuming you have a friend there too.

Raz: Wait, cinder-what-now? This sure as hell ain't a fairy tale!

Montes answered on the radio where Riley was talking to Claude.

Montes: I don't think Cinderella's got a fancy dress, nor a pumpkin and a carriage to get to the castle ball. That's a big ouch as I should say.

Riley: Hehehe. Well, I'm not godmother, but I can work some magic for you.

Claude: Magic, huh? We could use a little, if it was real.

She arrived as she operated a ragnite mortar. And currently, with Montes and his MK11, he was obviously providing some support, but by now when he showed up, he has his M27 out. Riley provided the mortar fire as Montes got the others toward the Hafen as his desert MARPAT-Patterned Crye G3 Combat Uniform made him an easy target, but it didn't bother him.

He spotted an Imperial operating the Gatling Turret but he fires his M27 in Semi-Auto as he killed the operator and then he hurled an M67 Frag Grenade toward it. As it had reached there before it blew up the turret. Then they took cover as the Gatling Turrets by the gatehouse opened up as Montes fired his M27 in Full-Auto bursts as Raz took notice on how Montes operated his M27 IAR Assault Rifle / Machine Gun. Montes then got down and reloaded as he takes a magazine out of the pouches of his IMTV Body Armor and he aims down his M27's SDO ACOG and he takes out one of the Gatling Turret operators. The M27's recoil being at a mediocre level, Montes just doesn't fail at using it. To him, it was just Blackburn's 416 but on steroids. Meaning it was just an normal rifle to him. He looks at Raz and a few other members of Squad E's fireteam.

Raz: Hey Montes? I'm Sergeant Raz, you need any help?

Montes: Yeah, cover me on getting to a new position. Try to expose yourselves and don't let anybody else die until I clear the entrance!

Kai: Montes, I'm coming with you!

Kai went with Montes as they both run under the cover of supporting fire from Raz and the other members of Squad E as currently, the Hafen under Claude's command was having a hard time to advance, but the MG on the tank was doing enough cover fire. Montes then fired his M27 as Kai fired her Lenfield Wasp No. 1 Sniper Rifle, killing one Imperial Shocktrooper. Montes on the other hand, threw an M67 Frag Grenade at two Imperial Scouts. It was obvious that he doesn't mess around with a grenade that looked like a baseball in his hands.

Kai: Damn, you're good at throwing a grenade!

A Sniper shot at them as Montes put his M27 IAR down and grabbed his MK11 MOD 0 and aimed at the sniper as he fired two shots as his MK11 MOD 0 was Semi-Automatic. He put it back on his back as he grabbed his M27 and he runs with Kai and they open fire at two Shocktroopers together and then they all rush into the entrance as all of the remaining defenders were eager to surrender immediately. Until one destroys the 21cm. Howitzer and the remaining defenders who faked surrender, immediately all got the remaining 5.56 from a 30-Round Magazine dumped into each of them as Montes reloads his M27. Then he grabbed his M45A1 and double-tapped them so they wouldn't open fire. They all saw Riley as Montes kept his M45A1 in his holster and lowered his M27 where he had it on safety. And currently, she decided to ask a question.

Riley: Say, who's in charge of this squad? Gotta say, I'm impressed on how they were able to change their tactics on the fly. And how the new guy over here just got to ask some of the others to help out with covering him.

Raz: Uh, well...

Riley: Hm? Wait... Raz? What are you doing in the Edinburgh Army?

Kai: We enlisted to protect Gallia.

Riley: No way... Leena! Small world, huh?

Kai: Oh... Sorry, I'm going by Kai now.

Riley: Wait. But that's your-

Kai doesn't wanna answer as Raz spoke.

Raz: Riley?

Riley: Hm... I really don't get it, but okay. I'll call you Kai. Anyway, it's so amazing to see you! What are the odds of seeing old friends in a foreign warzone?

Kai: Beats me and Montes. How'd you end up in joint operations anyway?

Riley: Since you asked so nicely... Ahem. I'm Lieutenant Riley Miller. After majoring in ragnite engineering, the army brought me on as an artillery adviser. I've been temporarily transferred from the field artillery team to this joint operation. As long as I'm here, I'll provide fire support you need to take down the Empire. My knowledge is your power! 

Miles: Just what our squad needed. We appreciate the support, Riley!

Riley: So where's the commander? I wanted to introduce myself. Also, who's this "Montes" guy that you mentioned, Kai?

Raz: Uh, about that. It's not just us two in this squad. And Montes is the guy whose clothing makes him look like he's trying to blend in with desert sands.

Riley: Huh? You mean Kai's here after all or...?

Claude: Riley, I'm the commander of Squad E.

Riley: Oh, you're pretty young for an officer. But I was impressed out there. My knowledge is your-

She cut herself off after recognizing Claude.

Riley: ...Claude Wallace.

Riley slapped him and this alerted Montes. And well, this is not a good time for him to be attracted.

Montes: Woah, woah, woah, what the hell's going on?

Riley: Is that all you have to say? I can't believe I took orders from this coward.

Montes: *sigh* Claude, explain yourself or I'm not providing any fire support again.

Everybody got a bit annoyed on what happened, but Montes was beyond annoyed. He was trying to hold his fury as he managed to gain a bit of a fragile temper after he got shot by Solomon back in New York and after he just got out of the hospital.
