nine. KINGSMAN TAILOR

THE following day, Valerie awoke with a massive headache. She groans loudly and runs her hand through her hair. She looked up at the ceiling and remembered yesterday's events.

"Ugh, I can't believe myself." She says, her fingers tangled in her brown hair. How could I let myself get so drunk? She thought to herself. As she continued to think about yesterday's events, she heard a knock on her door.

"Come in!" She calls, sitting up from her bed and tying her hair into a bun.

"Good morning, Val." Harry greets as he walks in with a tray that had breakfast on in and a glass of water. Next to it was an Advil as well.

A smile grew on Valerie's face at Harry's kindness. "Thank you so much, Harry." She says.

"Of course, luv." He replies. He places the tray on the desk next to her bed and watched as she grabs the glass of water and drink the pill first.

"Why are you watching me eat?" Valerie asks with a laugh.

"Did you enjoy yourself last night?" He quizzes.

Valerie raises an eyebrow and placed the fork down. "What are you implying?" She asked with her mouth full.

"Do you like Eggsy?" He asked. Valerie nearly choked on her eggs.

"What? No! Of course not." She immediately says, "pfft, you probably like him. Accusing me of such thing." She rambles, getting up from her bed. "You know what? I think it's time for me shower." She adds, grabbing Harry's hand and lifting him off her bed. She then placed her hand on his back and pushed him out. "The breakfast was lovely, Harry. Thank you very much for it." She finishes and then closes the door once he's fully out.

She presses her back against the door and closes her eyes thinking about the question Harry asked. Valerie never understood her own feelings when it came to relationship. She was always uncertain about a lot of things. Especially when it came to loving someone other then Harry. She was bad at relationships because she's always been scared that everyone who claimed to love her would leave her. It has happened, multiple of times. That's why she's given up on relationships.

"Valerie, just stopped thinking about it." She said to herself. Valerie closes her eyes tightly and tried to get all of the thoughts out of her head.

Later that day, Valerie was sitting on her bed eating lunch that she had prepared for herself. She was entertaining herself with some Netflix, trying to catch up on some of her shows while she has some free time.

This was a pretty slow day for her until someone came knocking on her bedroom door.

"Come in!" She calls. As the door opens, Valerie bit into her sandwich. She turns her head, with her mouth full, to see who it was.

It was Eggsy.

"Hey, Valerie." He greets with a smile.

She finished chewing her food before she replies. "Hi, Eggsy. What are you doing here?" She asked.

"Harry wanted me to come and ask you if you want to come with us to the Kingsman Tailor shop." He invited, flashing her another one of his gorgeous smiles.

"Yeah, of course. Just let me put some shoes on." She chuckles. She quickly gets off the bed and slides on a pair of boots. Valerie then grabs her jacket and leaves the room with Eggsy.

"How you feeling?" He asked as they walked down the stairs.

"I'm feeling fine. I still have a little headache." She answers with a little laugh.

Eggsy looks at her and takes in the view of her laughing. He loved to see her laugh, even if it was just for a few seconds because he believed that she was so beautiful. Her accent made her laugh sound even more beautiful. Everything about her was perfect to him.

He just felt like she was too good for him. So he was afraid of rejection.

"Come on, I'm sure Harry is waiting for us in the car." Eggsy says. Valerie nods and follows him out the car.

KINGSMAN TAILOR

"So are you gonna teach me how to talk proper, like in My Fair Lady?" Eggsy questions as the three of them walked down the sidewalk to the tailor shop.

"Don't be absurd." Harry speaks, "being a gentleman has nothing to do with one's accent. It's about being at ease in one's own skin." He answers. "As Hemingway said, There is nothing noble... "in being superior to your fellow man." True nobility is being superior to your former self." Harry then quotes.

Valerie and Harry entered the shop while Eggsy stood outside for few more seconds to get a view of the outside of the shop. Seconds later he joined the two of them inside.

"Now, the first thing every gentleman needs is a good suit. By which I mean, a bespoke suit. Never off-the-peg." Harry said as he watched Eggsy look around the store.

"What if it's a woman?" He asks, glancing at Valerie.

"I too wear a seat." She replies, "and I look damn good in one."

"I bet you do." Eggsy suddenly says. Not realizing that he said that out loud.

"No flirting with my niece." Harry orders. Eggsy and Valerie look at each other and smile. "Anyways, Kingsman suits are always bulletproof. So let's get you measured, and then, whether you get the job or not... you'll have a lasting and useful memento of your time at Kingsman." Harry said as he walks towards a fitting room.

"I'm so sorry, sir, but a gentleman is completing his fitting. Fitting Room Two is available." The worker behind the front desk says.

"One does not use Fitting Room Two when one is popping one's cherry." Harry jokes and Eggsy laughs.

"That was disgusting way to put it Harry." Valerie comments. The boys continued to laugh and she playfully rolled her eyes.

"Perhaps I'll show you Fitting Room Three while we wait." Harry suggests and Valerie gasped in excitement.

The three of them entered the dressing room and Harry closed the door behind them.

"So we going up or down?" Eggsy quizzed, already becoming used to our ways already.

"Neither." Valerie said.

"Is this it?" Eggsy asked in disbelief.

"Of course not." Valerie replies, "pull the hook on your left." Eggsy did as Valerie told him and the wall opened to a secret hiding place. He looks back at Valerie with a huge smile as he entered the room.

The walls were covered with guns and weapons the Kingmans use. The shoes, rings, pens and umbrellas.

"Oh yes!" Eggsy cheers. "Very, very nice." He adds as the three of them fully entered the room.

"You're going to need a pair of shoes to go with your suit." Harry speaks as he walks towards the wall with shoes on them. "An oxford is any formal shoe with open lacing." He says as he pointed to all the details on the shoes. "This additional decorative piece is called broguing." He adds, pointing to a specific pair of shoes.

"Oxfords not brogues." Eggsy states.

"Words to live by, Eggsy. Words to live by." Harry said as he pulls out a pair of shoes, "Try a pair." He orders. Eggsy grabs the shoes excitingly and quickly takes a sat to put them on.

"Your weapon scores are excellent, by the way." Harry states, Eggsy replies with a wink and Valerie chuckles.

"These you are familiar with," Harry said as he pointed towards the umbrellas, "and this is our standard issue pistol. It's quite unique, as you'll see. It also fires a shotgun cartridge for use in messy close-range situations." Harry then explains pointing towards the pistols.

"How do they feel?" Valerie questions.

"Yeah, good." Eggsy answers.

"Now do your very best impersonation of a German aristocrat's formal greeting." Harry demands. Eggsy stands up from his seat slowly, puts his feet together, puts a figure above his lips and raises his hand as if he was Adolf Hitler.

Valerie face palms herself and Harry shakes his head.

"No, Eggsy." Harry says. He clicks his heels together and a sharp blade comes out from underneath his shoes.

"That is sick." Eggsy said.

"In the old days, they had a phone in the heel as well." Harry comments as he watches Eggsy click his heels together and sees the blade come out.

"How do I get it back in?" Eggsy asked.

"Well, it's coated in one of the fastest acting neurotoxins known to man...so very carefully." Harry replies as pushes the blade back in with the wall. Eggsy does the same.

"Now, I've had a lot of fun with this." Harry begins as he takes a pen off of a wall. "One of our finest examples of chemical engineering. A poison, harmless when ingested...but at a time convenient to you... can be remotely activated." He explains pulling the lever down, "Primed." He closes the lever, "Lethal."

Eggsy walks towards the wall a takes a small gold box off of it, "What about these? What do these do? Electrocute you?" He quizzes.

"Don't be ridiculous. It's a hand grenade." Valerie replies, sitting at the bench.

"Shut up!" Eggsy says, shook.

"If you want to electrocute someone, you'll need a signet ring." Harry shows Eggsy the ring on his pinky. "A gentleman traditionally wears the signet on his left hand. But a Kingsman wears it on whichever hand happens to be dominant.Touch the contact behind the ring," he click the contact and it made a electric sounds, "it delivers 50,000 volts."

"And what about them? What makes them so special?" Eggsy asked as he pointed to the black pads on the wall. Trying to get Valerie and Harry's attention to the wall while his steals on the grenades.

"Nothing. That technology has caught up with the spy world." Harry replies as he began to exit, finishing his tour with the room.

"Put it back, Eggsy." Harry orders. Eggsy turned on his heel and placed the grenade back.

They then returned back to the actually tailor shop.

"Perfect timing." The worker says, The gentleman's just finished." He adds as the dressing room door opened revealing a dark skinned man and a gorgeous young woman with metal legs.

"Mr. DeVere!" The man called. Looking at Harry. "What a coincidence. You are totally the reason I'm here. When you left my house I was thirsting for that dope-ass smoking jacket you had on. And since I'm going to Royal Ascot and, apparently, you need one of these penguin suits here I am." He explains. "What are you doing here?" He then questions and looks over at Valerie and Eggsy.

"What's up, y'all?" He greets, holding his hand out to shake both Eggsy and Valerie's hand. "Richmond Valentine." He introduces. Eggsy and Valerie knew who he was. This was one of Harry's missions.

"This is my new valet and his wife. I was just introducing him to my tailor." Harry lies.

"Another coincidence. So am I." Richmond says and the woman with metal legs walks over and stands besides Richmond.

Have you had any chance to think further on my proposal?" Harry then asked, looking at Richmond eyes.

"Most definitely. My people will be getting in touch with you very soon." Richmond answers.

"I guarantee it." Harry says, "A word of advice. Ascot requires top hat. I might suggest Lock and Co. Hatters. Saint James's."

""Lox" as in smoked fish?" Richmond quizzed.

"As in, "locked up."" Harry replies.

"I have trouble understanding you people sometimes. You all talk so funny." Richmond comments. He then takes one last scan at Harry and walks out. The woman with metal legs followed behind him after she takes a good look of Eggsy.

"Gentlemen, would you look after him, please?" Harry said, "and Valerie, stay here too." He orders. She nods and watches him walk out of the tailor shop.

"Be careful, Harry." Valerie calls out.
