After a little while of debate and arguing, Tanjiro was finally accepted as the new crystal hashira.

Some like Sanemi and Obanai were still rather stubborn about the whole thing; half of it because he had basically outed their trauma to everyone, and half because he could quite easily execute their own breathing styles with minimal effort.

However, others like Rengoku and Uzui for example thought Tanjiro to be absolutely brilliant. Most hashira questioned Tanjiro on whom he trained with and where.

But as you know, Taniiro couldn't give up this information. It's not like he could just answer 'oh just the king of demon's that happened to raise me after I was abandoned in the forest by my parents'

yeah... that wouldn't go down to well.

Anyways, after being accepted as a hashira Shinobu offered Tanjiro to live in the butterfly mansion between missions and such. To which the boy gratefully agreed.

As for Giyuu, Sabito and Makomo; they went back to Urokodaki for the mean time where they trained till able to take down lower moons as to be considered for a position in the hashira.

Only a year later, Sabito and Giyuu took a place in the hashira beside one another as water pillars. As for Makomo, she was a little behind but training with Shinobu to strengthen her techniques.

Over the corse of this year, Tanjiro had visited the infinity fortress and celebrated with his 'family' his achievements in becoming a high rank demon slayer. Muzan had ordered Akaza and Douma to watch over the boy like they had been doing for years now, just to be safe that no harm came to him...

Also, another addition to the hashira was none other than Muichiro. He claimed the spot as the mist hashira, the second youngest pillar after Tanjiro obviously.

In fact, Muichiro had taken a different liking to Tanjiro than the other pillars. Muichiro saw Tanjiro in a romantic aspect whereas everyone else viewed him as an adorable little brother.

Muichiro would often go out of his way to spend time with the boy and make excuses in order to accompany him during missions. But Tanjiro being the cute bean he is, just thought the most pillar was being extremely nice.

As for those who didn't like Tanjiro at the beginning like Sanemi and Obanai, they had considerably warmed up to him also. I mean... they were bound to weren't they? No one could escape Tanjiro's adorableness.

In relation to Tanjiro, the boy had quite an immature attitude to say the least. Due to him growing up in an abusive household before he was rescued by the demons, Tanjiro never really had any time to live out his childhood in full. Even when with the demons, most of his time was spent training and such.

So in theory, the boy was basically living out his childhood now. He had much more freedom and always begged anyone he could find to play a game with him; for example he was wondering around aimlessly in the demon slayer corps one day and bumped into an unsuspecting Uzui. He then forced the pillar to play hide and seek with him for hours on end.

Tanjiro also spent a lot of time with Ubuyashiki, The blind man seemed to be very fond of Tanjiro indeed; spending hours on end simply talking to the boy.

Ubuyashiki appeared to be the only person whom could calm Tanjiro down from his usual ecstatic and childish nature; making him lay calmly on his lap as he braided the boy's hair while talking about some deep shit.

Well now that we're all caught up, Tanjiro was currently trying to pry of a teen whom he had just met on his way to another mission of a poor lady. Muichiro whom of corse insisted on coming with Tanjiro stood to the side and observed the scene.

"So sorry mam!" Tanjiro bowed as he finally got the screaming boy of the woman, watching as she huffed and walked away angrily.

"Y-you'll protect me won't you?! I'm gunna die out here I swear!" He cried, clinging onto Tanjiro's clothes; receiving a side glare from Muichiro.

"Hey you'll be alright! Just remember to be more respectful towards women" Tanjiro chuckled, patting the boy on the head as he skipped over to the mist pillar, closely followed by the teen again.

"Why are you carrying a stuffed animal..." the yellow haired slayer mumbled, walking along side the two whilst still sniffing.

"Oh this is fluffy! He goes everywhere with me!" Tanjiro exclaimed proudly just like he did when a child, which made Zenitsu's curiosity peak.

"You seem familiar..." the boy hummed, looking at the two.

"Oh! You may recognise me as the crystal Pillar, and Mui-chan here the mist!" The boy grinned, pointing towards his friend whom seemed to dislike Zenitsu already.

"HAHHH?! WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME SOONER! THAT MEANS YOULL DEFINITELY LOOK AFTER ME RIGHT RIGHT-"

Suddenly Zenitsu fell of Tanjiro when a rock was chucked directly in the middle of his forehead "hands off" Muichiro instructed, his eyes narrowing the more he climbed into Tanjiro.

After that, the poor boy was on the verge of shitting himself; not dating to walk close to Tanjiro again and subtly crying whilst walking behind the two.

"Ah I smell blood..." Tanjiro whispered to his friend once they arrived at a rather large looking house.

"Over there" Muichiro hummed, gently tugging on the boy's sleeve whilst pointing towards two terrified looking children huddled up in a bush next to the house.

"Hey there... mind telling me what happened?" Tanjiro asked kindly, offering a sweet smile. However the two siblings seemed to shy away and tremble even more. Tanjiro hummed before he beamed and gently handed the girl fluffy "here can you look after him for me? He'll protect you"

The girl cautiously took the teddy and retreated back to her brother, giving Fluffy a tight squeeze.

"Ah look at this as well" Tanjiro grinned, clicking his tongue and making sunny emerge from his pocket and land on his hand. The colourful humming bird gave a little chirp before sitting its self in Tanjiro's hair once again.

"Pretty isn't she?" He asked, happy that the scent of fear had faded a tiny bit.

The two nodded and inched a little closer to Tanjiro "could you tell me what happened?"

"A-A monster took out brother into that house, we managed to follow it here..." the older of the two spoke, keeping his arm firmly around his younger sister.

Tanjiro got up and thanked the two, walking towards Muichiro.

"You wanna look after them while I kill the demon quickly?" Tanjiro reasoned, staring at the house with his hand on his hip.

"Hey what about me?!" Zenitsu interrupted just as Muichiro was about to speak, clinging onto Tanjiro's legs once more. Again receiving a rock to fhe face from the mist pillar.

"You can come with me if you like?" Tanjiro chuckled, strolling into the house without another thought.

"WAHHH don't leave me with that scary guy!" Zenitsu wailed, running after him into the house as Tanjiro laughed in amusement "come on it's not that scary!" Tanjiro giggled, just then the sound of drum clicked briefly; their surroundings instantly changing as the two were split up.

'Hmmm... that's interesting! Must be some kind of blood demon art'

It wasn't long before Tanjiro came across a tall, muscular humanoid like demon with drums scattered around his body.

"Oh your the demon dad was angry with for being too weak! He kicked you out of the twelve Kizuki didn't he?!" Tanjiro laughed mockingly, his whole demeanour changing in a split second when the demon sent a slash across the floor.

"What do you know brat?!" The demon hissed back, whacking his drums faster this time.

"No need to worry, I'll be out of your hair soon" Tanjiro giggled, dodging every attack with ease and decapitating the demon almost instantly using the breath of crystals, his favourite breathing technique obviously.

"Hey you! You seem pretty strong fight me!" Someone roared out of nowhere, pointing his swords towards Tanjiro as he dusted himself off.

"Hm? Oh hello! My names Tanjiro Kamado, nice to meat you!" He exclaimed, turning to face a bore he added male with an exposed chest wielding two blades.
