THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW

"How was living in luxury with the love of my life?" Obito hissed. Kakashi was still in shock from his revelation about his childhood friend.

"H-how.."

"How what Kakashi? You have to be more specific." Obito mocked. Kakashi furrowed his eyebrows.

"I thought you were dead."

"I was...almost. It's a story for another time. What I want to finish is what we started." Kakashi held his kunai tightly, his hand shaking slightly.

"Do you realize how badly Mina and I were pained when you 'died'?! How much she cried?! Have you lost your damn mind?! You come back here over a decade later and destroy the home we grew up in?! The same day Mina accomplishes your dream?! Just...WHY?! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS!?" Kakashi exclaimed. Obito glared at Kakashi, their matching sharingan eyes blazing.

"Because I want her for myself. You killed Rin, you stole Mina, and now I'm going to get rid of you. Mina and I can rebuild Konoha together after she gets rid of that idiot Danzo. I had his people destroy this village so I didn't have to extract the tailed beast again. I want Mina alive. I want her for myself." Kakashi thought about what he said.

"Did you just say-"

"Yes I did. For the top of our class, you're quite slow Kakashi. I killed Minato and Kushina. I unleashed the Nine-tailed beast twelve years ago."

"NO!" Kakashi and Obito stood to see Itachi supporting Minako. Tears billowed down her cheeks and her teeth chattered from her heart shattering.

"I LOVED YOU OBITO! HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO ME! HOW COULD YOU TAKE AWAY MY FAMILY!" Obito felt a little guilty knowing that Minako found out the truth but it was something that didn't matter. She would be joining him no matter what she had to say. Minako tore away from Itachi and came after Obito lightning fast. Obito was quick enough that he moved away in time.

"YOU KILLED MY SISTER!! AFTER EVERYTHING...AFTER ALL THIS TIME OF YOU TELLING ME YOU CARED FOR ME! AFTER OUR FRIENDSHIP...YOU BETRAY ME!!" Minako was losing it, Kurama was too tired from the last fight to give much chakra. Minako was basically running on empty and pure emotions.

"Stop fighting me Mina! I did it for us! I did it so we could accomplish our dreams together." Mina's kunai and Obito's were clashing, sparks setting off while Itachi and Kakashi listened in.

"You killed my family, you slaughtered my people...all so you could come into power?" Mina gritted. Obito knocked away the kunai and slammed Mina on the ground, overpowering her.

"Minako this world is full of the corrupted and the evil. You are my only light in this darkness and I wanted to keep you away from the poisoned many. I wanted you with me as we worked together to rid the world of this toxicity...of the plagued. Don't you see Mina? Everything I have ever done was because I love you and I want to be with you...forever." Her violet eyes went open wide, the tears still pouring down her red cheeks. Kakashi rammed into Obito, knocking him off of Mina.

"Get. Off. My. Wife." Kakashi had a bolt of electricity run through his fingers before attempting to hit Obito, getting a clone instead. Itachi immediately ran to get Mina who definitely felt an ache in her bones.

"Itachi, watch over Mina. This battle is between two old friends." Kakashi and Obito began to face off for Mina, both being on equal terms. Itachi nodded before bandaging up a deep cut in her forearm. She looked in the direction of the village center before hearing screams. Mina broke away from Itachi before closing her eyes and absorbing the nature energy around her. After a minute or two, she opened her eyes to reveal a golden iris...the eye of the toad. She made a few hand signs before biting her thumb and drawing blood. She placed her hand on the ground, only to be standing in front of a four stories tall toad a second later and being surrounded by dozens of toads.

"Ashi, my friend, I need your help." Ashi loaned some chakra to Mina so she could heal a bit.

"My children and the children of Konoha are in danger. We must save them." Ashi, being a mother herself, understood completely the worry that must have been in Mina's heart. Ashi then sent the toads out to look for endangered civilians to help, making Mina sigh in relief.

"Thank you Ashi." After healing Itachi and Mina for a while, she felt drained and needed to go back.

"I'll be going now. Let me know how it goes and whether you need my husband or not." Minako said her thanks to her longtime friend before turning to Itachi again an nearly falling in his arms.

"Don't strain yourself." He was so worried for her and held onto her tightly.

"Itachi...if anything were to happen to me-"

"It won't."

"Listen to me!" Itachi went quiet.

"I want you to succeed me if I don't make it." Itachi went wide eyed before shaking his head.

"Minako I couldn't-"

"You can. For me." Itachi swallowed hard. He looked into those violet eyes he loved so much and realized he was no match for her. Anything she wanted, he knew he would give her.

"Anything for you." The two then turned to watch the fight that made Mina's stomach churn.

Naruto, Sasuke, Shina, and Hinata were in hiding along with other previous/current students of Iruka. They were stationed in an academy room. Several chunin were guarding the door, protecting the genin and academy students.

"HEY WHY CAN'T WE FIGHT?!" Naruto yelled out. He was antsy knowing there might be people out there that he could help. Sasuke was silent but felt the same way.

"We are under direct orders from the Third and the Fifth Hokage to protect anyone under chunin level. Our opponents are Anbu level. Stand down Naruto." Iruka demanded. Naruto pouted but knew if he disobeyed his mom then he would be getting an ass kicking later. A knock on the wooden door startled everyone until Hinata used her byakugan.

"I-it's a t-toad!"

"The Fifth's summon?" Iruka gasped. He opened the door to reveal one of the smaller toads.

"That's Mommy's toad!" Shinasui exclaimed. The toad hopped right towards the little girl and spoke.

"Lady Mina has ordered us to protect her young and the wounded. I am here to heal." Shinasui tugged at Hinata's sleeve.

"Princess Hinata! Give the toad your hands! He'll heal them." She looked to Naruto who nodded and gave a thumbs up.

"O-oh alright." The toad took her hands and they began to glow, the chakra healing her nearly instantly and painlessly.

"Wow...the work of the Fifth is amazing..." Another chunin blurted out.

Across the village, every hurt citizen was being treated by the toads, resulting in zero casualties. The jonin and actual Anbu forces outnumbered the ROOT forces and were able to subdue them. However, none of that would matter if Obito won the fight.

Obito kicked away Kakashi who ran right back towards him. The two were facing off, jutsu after jutsu with their sharingans activated. Kakashi gritted his teeth as Obito knocked him back again.

"You got better since we were kids."

"And you got worse."

Obito punched Kakashi in the face, causing his cheek to bleed. Mina couldn't stand watching this anymore. Two people she loved and cared about were fighting to the death. This was her worst nightmare. Obito and Kakashi stood, breathing heavily before going at each other again. Obito had the upper hand and knocked Kakashi off of his feet.

"OBITO!" Before he could land another move on Kakashi, Mina distracted him by calling out his name.

"Why did you kill them...why did you kill my sister...and Minato...why did you let them die...?" Obito ignored Kakashi laying on the ground in pain before walking towards Minako.

"I didn't mean for her to die. I wanted to keep her because I knew that would hurt you...but she chose her fate by saving Naruto. Same with the Fourth. I unleashed the beast the same reason I am here today Mina. I wanted to start this village over with us leading, Mina. I'll kill Kakashi as payment to what he did to Rin and you can join me." Minako shook her head, the tears still falling slowly.

"You don't understand. The whole thing with Rin was an accident. She ran into Kakashi's jutsu, he didn't want her to die." Obito tsk'ed before shaking his head and pointing a kunai at Kakashi. He slowly stood to his feet, slightly shaking because of how much pain he was in.

"It doesn't matter he killed her and I'll never forgive him." Obito ran at the defenseless Kakashi with the kunai aiming straight for his heart.

"NO! KAKASHI!" Obito slammed the kunai straight through a chest, blood spurting out over his hand and arm. He looked up to see Mina standing there, protecting her husband for the very last time. Everyone was silent. The world came crashing down on the three men standing there, their eyes wide open and their hearts freezing in place. Mina slowly reached one hand back to hold Kakashi's and another forward to cradle Obito's stunned face. She smiled brightly at him, reminding him of the very first time he met her as children.

"I forgive you." She whispered with her last breath.

Mina fell limp into Kakashi's arms when Obito retracted the blade. Their screams fell to empty ears as tears poured from Kakashi's eyes. He cradled Minako's dead body in his arms and screamed out her name. He kissed her bloodied face all over, his tears dripping on her porceline skin. Itachi fell to his knees, cursing himself for not stopping her, asking for her forgiveness from the heavens. He was devastated. Obito looked down at his shaking bloodied kunai to see he became he evil he so adamantly wanted to destroy. He killed the love of his life...there was no one to blame but himself. He dropped the kunai as if it was burning him and stood in front of the tragedy laying out before him.

"Just kill me. I don't want to live without her. Just kill me." Kakashi whimpered as he cradled her and let out the loud sobs that were shaking his being. Obito shook and looked at the dead woman he loved so much...even after all the pain he caused her...after taking her family away and destroying the village twice... she spent her very last breath forgiving him for everything. he has done. There was no one in the world as pure as she was...and he killed her. He was everything he ever hated.

"I-I'm...a monster...Mina...I...I'm sorry...I'm so sorry." He broke down in tears, wishing he never attacked Konoha. For the first time since that fateful night at Kannabi bridge, the old Obito was back.

Although he wished he was dead.

Shinasui was fast asleep in Naruto's lap while waiting for reinforcements to say it was okay to come out. He noticed how her eyelids fluttered rapidly and she was gasping silently. Tears rolled down her rosy cheeks and she scared herself awake. She looked to Naruto and hugged around his neck tightly. She began sobbing, grabbing the entire room's attention.

"What's wrong Shina?" Naruto asked.

"I had one of my special dreams." Naruto knew immediately that his sister had a vision of something.

"What happened?" Shinasui looked up at Naruto with his mother's eyes and let out a shaky breath.

"Tobi killed Mommy." Naruto gasped along with the rest of the room.

"Is she saying the Fifth is dead?" Iruka asked Naruto. The boy felt the tears drip from his eyes before running past the chunin and out the door to find his mother. Shinasui was left in Sasuke's comforting arms before Neji came over to her.

"She is most comfortable with me. It's best if you go get Naruto." Sasuke nodded before handing the little girl to the Hyuga that she was so in love with.

Word had reached between the Leaf ninjas that the Fifth Hokage had protected the lives of all of the civilians of Konoha, sacrificing herself to subdue the enemy.

Minako Uzumaki will forever be known as Konoha's Scarlet Savior.
