Epilogue
As soon as wedding planning got under way the time seemed to fly by.
Yunho kept looking through his library for any example of a wedding that he could find, and anyone else do didn't have work to do would come and help as well.
They started to compile a list of things that were needed so they could plan a trip to get anything they didn't have on Utopia.
That's where Hongjoong surprised them with an idea. He wanted to take another trip, just the eight of them, plus the kids, just like old times. Now that they were all healthy and not pregnant, manning a ship wasn't out of the question.
They sailed to a few different ocean cities and islands looking for what they needed. In one book, the found a picture of the couple standing in front of an arch, so when they found a carpenter on an island they showed him the picture and he got to work immediately.
Jongho and Wooyoung also found a blacksmith to make a ring for the younger so they could both wear one. All the books said that both the man and the woman wore rings, so why couldn't both men?
Aurora was still clingy when it came to Wooyoung, so she was off with the couple a lot of the time, and if it wasn't her then it was Milo.
When the couple was walking back to check on the arch, they heard a small "Jo-Jo!" Coming from behind them.
Milo was waddling up to them and holding out his arms for Jongho to scoop him up. "Hey buddy! What are you doing?"
"Daddy sent me. New book!" He said, pointing behind them.
Sure enough Yunho was bounding over to them with a wide smile on his face. "There's something we need to add!" He said, reaching out to pinch Milo's cheek. "There's something called an 'officiant'. From what I can tell, it's someone who actually give a speech of sort and does the official marriage. So you two will need to decide who does that."
Wooyoung pursed his lips, then as he was about to speak, there was a high pitched squeal and Aurora came over. She had left his side for five minutes to go check on her baby brother and now she was scared she had lost him. Wooyoung laughed as he picked her up and she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"For a couple who doesn't want kids, you sure are popular with them." Yunho laughed as he watched the two of them fawn over the kids they were holding.
"Well, we can be the fun uncles who spoil them to no end." Wooyoung said. Jongho laughed and nodded in agreement.
When the arch and the ring was done, they moved on to the next ocean city to buy several caskets of wine. They also found a tailor who made new outfits for everyone to wear, including Milo and Aurora, who Wooyoung wanted to be in the wedding after reading about flower girls and ring bearers.
The idea make Seonghwa so happy that he ended up spending over an hour picking out the perfect material and design for Aurora's dress.
While they waiting, Jongho walked over to Yeosang where he was feeding Caspian and sat with him. "Do you have a way to contact your mom?"
"I'm not sure, I haven't tried. Why?" He asked, tilting his head to the side.
"Well, I was wanting her to be the one to marry us. She's done so much for me and Woo, I thought it would be a nice touch." Jongho said, blushing and rubbing the back of his neck.
Yeosang just smiled, loving the idea. "I'll see what I can do. I'd have a backup though, just in case."
"Sure, sure. Thanks."
When everything was made, built, crafted, and bought, the family made their way back home, following the magical trail in the water.
They would all sit out on the deck together, reminiscing about their time on the ship. They poked fun at Jongho for how he used to be such an asshole and now he was just a big softy because of Wooyoung. San was reminded of his jealousy bouts and how he beat Jongho up because he kept Wooyoung from injuring himself. The kraken came up then and they all still couldn't believe they had survived that.
After that, they sang together and slept on the deck to enjoy looking at the stars. It was so peaceful being adrift at sea. Seonghwa and Wooyoung both made comments on how much they missed it. They were they only two who never went on supply trips with Hongjoong since they ran the daycare.
"Let's promise to do this every few months then." Hongjoong said, sitting up and looking at his family. "We will make the time to go out and sail together, whether it's a supply run or just for fun. Being on this ship is what brought us together."
Seonghwa took his hand and kissed it. "I love that idea."
Everyone nodded in agreement. They would always let the ocean bring them together to heal their souls.
Once back on the island, things moved quickly.
The arch was set up on the beach and chairs and logs were brought over for everyone to sit on. The wine was set aside for easy access, and many people spent time preparing food for the party afterword.
Yeosang did end up getting a message to his mother, using the powers he had inherited from her, and she promised she would be there in time for the ceremony.
When the big day finally came, Jongho and Wooyoung got dressed in separate houses. Seonghwa, San, and Yeosang were with Wooyoung and the others with Jongho. They wanted their friends to stand up with them as they had seen in pictures.
The few musicians who had come to Utopia worked to come up with a selection of music to play during the ceremony. It was a slow, beautiful melody.
The six friends gathered on either side of the alter while Aurora walked down the center aisle. She giggled as she sprinkled flower petals onto the sand. Milo walked next to her with a small pillow in his hand that had the rings tied to it.
They went to stand with Seonghwa and Yunho as everyone turned to watch Jongho and Wooyoung walked down, arm in arm.
Jongho was in a loose light blue cotton shirt. Wooyoung wore a white shirt of the same style. Both had on khaki pants and were barefoot. But their smiles made it so no one even paid attention to what they were wearing. They were both beaming as they stared at their family waiting for them.
Daenerys stood underneath it. She smiled at the couple and held her hands in front of her.
Once they made it to the end, they turned to face each other and held hands.
"Thank you for joining us on this special day as an old tradition is renewed here on Utopia. We are gathered her to join Choi Jongho and Jung Wooyoung in a union called marriage. They will be joined as one under the blessing of Aurora to be husbands for all eternity. They have been through many trials to be here today, I can think of no better couple to bring back this beautiful tradition." Daenerys looked at both of them. "They have each prepared some words to say to one another. A vow of love they wish to make."
Jongho took a deep breath and squeezed Wooyoung's hands. "My Woo. You have taught my hardened soul how to love. I would probably be alone and suffering if our paths hadn't crossed by the grace of Aurora. Your sweet face and beautiful smile drew me to you instantly. We have been through more trials than most, and yet we have always come back to each other. I promise to continue to look for you, protect you, love you, and always do my best to keep you happy. You are the light of my life, and I would be lost without you." He brought Wooyoung's hands to his lips and kissed them, never looking away from his eyes. Then he turned and grabbed the rings from Milo and placed Wooyoung's on his finger.
"Jongho. I don't think I truly knew what love was until I met you. I thought I did, no offense San," Wooyoung giggled and looked over his shoulder. San just smiled and shook his head. "But whenever I'm around you, I feel complete. You went from a stranger, to a friend, to my 'guard dog', to my lover. WE have be through hell and high water, but my heart always brings me back to you. You are my home. I promise to support you, love you, and always do my best to keep you happy. You are the light of my life, and I would be lost without you." He finished, trying to fight back tears as he put Jongho's ring on.
Daenerys lifted her hands up. "Then by the wishes of this couple, let them be blessed by Aurora's light and may she watch over them and bless them for all eternity. I know pronounce you husbands. You may kiss."
Jongho pulled Wooyoung to him and dipped him a little as they kissed.
Everyone cheered and clapped their hands as the couple walked back down the aisle.
The island celebrated all night long. There was plenty of singing, dancing, and drinking. It was a happy time for Utopia and its inhabitants.
After all the world had been through, the islanders knew that they would live peacefully together for many years to come.
And the group of eight promised to do their best to protect the island from anyone who would tarnish the magic it brought to them. They brought worthy people there who would value their rules and traditions and help the island to grow and prosper.
They kept their promise to each other too. They always made time to take a trip together, just the eight of them and their children.
Hongjoong had delivered on his promise to his family.
The found their Utopia.
