Smile For Me (Otoya x Reader)

Today was a cloudless day.

It was warm, but not too hot. There was even a soft breeze. You enjoyed the warmth on your face as you started spacing out.

"(y/n)-neechan!"

Someone called out your name, interrupting your peace and quiet. Opening your eyes, you saw a small group of children innocently smiling at you.

It was some of the kids (from the school, ep. 5).

You smiled back and said, "What's up?" One of the kids laughed. "You were looking at the sky for hours!" The little girl said. You looked at your phone and saw that it was already noon. "Hey," you said. "An hour and a half isn't that bad!"

Two of the boys grabbed your arms and pulled them. The rest of the kids kept saying, "Play with us, nee-chan!" You had no choice but to do so.

As you let one of the kids get on your back for a piggy back ride, you didn't realize that a certain redhead was watching.

A few minutes later, you heard a familiar voice say, "(y/n)?" You collapsed, bringing the kid on your back down with you. The kids laughed as you looked over at the school gates.

"Otoya!?" You exclaimed. "W-what're you doing here? I thought you had work today." He ran over and helped you and the child up. "Ota nii-chan! You're here!" The children yelled, running to Otoya and hugging him. Otoya offered a hand and hoisted you up as you took his hand.

"I finished already. But I didn't know you came here." Otoya said while still holding your hand. You said, "I didn't know you came here, too. And I usually come by on the we-" You were interrupted when the kids started saying, "Ooh~!"

A little girl said, "Ota-nii and (y/n)-nee are holding hands!" The two of you blushed as you quickly let go of each other's hand. You sighed, "Well, I guess we both know where we've been heading off to."

The kids started pulling Otoya towards the classrooms. "Niichan! Help us with the haunted house decorations!" You followed the kids as they dragged Otoya into one of the classrooms, where the other children were.

Some of the kids were decorating monsters and ghosts while some were trying to hang them up. A child called Otoya over and he started helping out. You stood there with your arms crossed, smiling at how good Otoya was with kids.

Babump.

Your chest started to feel heavy. Placing a hand on your chest, you could feel your heart thumping. You looked at Otoya again.

Why was this happening...?

"(y/n)-nee, I need help," a little girl said, holding a hand drawn monster. You gladly walked over and helped her.

There was a string hanging down from the ceiling and the girl had been trying to hang it up. You took the monster and tried to tie it to the string, but you were too short. "Isn't there a ladder here...?" You thought.

You tried jumping, but that didn't work. You reached for the string for one last time and a hand took the monster. Turning around, you saw Otoya smiling while hanging the monster.

Again, your chest felt heavy and this time, your face felt hot.

When he finished, Otoya said, "(y/n), let's go back over there. There's more things to hand up!" He took your hand in his and walked over where the kids were making more decor for the haunted house.

Even after you reached the kids, Otoya didn't let go of your hand. Every second, you became more and more comfortable with it. Two girls came over and held out a big, blank piece of paper.

"Can you make a monster?" One of them asked. Otoya nodded and said, "Sure, and (y/n), do you want to make one with me?" "Of course, I will," you replied, unflustered.

The paper was set on the floor and Otoya and you immediately started drawing the monster. When you were done, some of the children handed over some markers.

You reached for the (f/c) marker, but so had Otoya. Both of you blushed when your hands touched, even though you didn't when you were holding hands only moments ago.

Haruka's POV:

The principle kindly led me to a door and said, "Otoya is in there, helping the children with the decor for their haunted house. If you need anything, dear, just tell me." I nodded and bowed before the principle walked away.

I opened the door slightly and peered in. Otoya's bright red hair caught my eye. I was about to call out when I saw (y/n).

The two of them were working together, looking happily as well.

Smiling, I quickly took out my phone and snapped a quick picture of them. Staring down at the photo, I thought to myself, "Maybe I'll come over next time."

And with that, I walked down the hallway, putting my phone back into my purse.

Your POV:

For the rest of the day, you and Otoya helped put the rest of the decor up. But when Otoya was putting up the black walls for the end of the haunted house, the children insisted that they finish it on their own.

Saying your goodbyes, the two of you walked back to the MC dorms.

The next day, Otoya asked if you could help carry one of the boxes for the bazaar over to the school. "I don't want to bother everyone about about the school," he had said.

When the two of you reached the school, all of the kids were waiting at the gates. They were practically dying to show you the finished haunted house.

But when Otoya finished placing the boxes in their rightful place, the kids pushed him and you towards the entrance of the haunted house.

They pleaded and pleaded for Otoya and you to go through it together. Naturally, Otoya gave in to their pleas. "I..." You said quietly. "...I guess it would be pretty cool...sure, I'll go." The kids cheered as they ushered the two of you in.

The children then closed the door, trapping Otoya and you in the near darkness. As you and Otoya made your way along the "hallways" of the haunted house, a paper ghost suddenly popped out.

You yelped and Otoya jumped a little at the surprise. After you calmed down, Otoya offered you a hand.

"Take my hand. The monsters and ghosts won't seem so scary when they jump out." Otoya said.

A little hesitant, you took his hand and he led you down the hallways.

There were a lot of sound effects and monsters and ghosts along the way to the exit. About halfway through, Otoya said, "I'm glad you wanted to go through the haunted house with me." You replied, "I'm glad, too."

A few minutes later, you saw a bright light ahead, thinking it was the exit.

But instead, it was a colorful room filled with drawings by the children. Slightly surprised by the room, you realized that cherry blossoms were falling from the ceiling.

You looked over at Otoya, who was smiling at the sight. "I think this is a good time..." You thought.

"Hey, Otoya," you said quietly. Otoya looked over, curious about what you were about to say.

You said, looking into his eyes, "I think...I'm in love with you."

Instead of getting all flustered, Otoya took your other hand in his and said, "The truth is...I'm in love with you, too."
Blushing at his confession, you smiled, and nearly started crying since this was your very first (confession).

Otoya lean in and kissed you on the lips. The kiss didn't last, but it was perfect.

Heeeeeeeeey, my tater tots!

Sorry it took a while to update, but here it is.

If you're reading my SMH fanfic, I'll have to post the second part for Masa another day. School's in a few days (tomorrow, I think) and I can't really focus on the fanfics.

That's all for now, tater tots!
I'll see you next time! :)

P.S.
I won't put anymore of these notes at the end of each oneshot or any chapter of any fanfic.

Laters!

(It took me an hour to write this. ;-;)
