So this is gonna be a very very late birthday oneshot to Ai. (And me Ig.)

[F/N]'s POV

I heard the instrumental version of Synchronism go off while I was looking out the plane's window, admiring the ocean of clouds. I picked up my head and quickly got out my phone from my pocket. A brunette's smiling face was looking back at me, while the name of the contact said That One Spanish Potato.
I rolled my eyes playfully and accepted the call.
"Hola. Soy Dora." I greeted immediately.
"It's not funny anymore, [N/N]-chan." I heard Reiji Kotobuki's voice say from the other end, although he let out a choke that sounded like holding back a laughing attack. "I might seriously start calling you Dora!"
"I will only start calling you Boots, then." I chuckled.
"You are impossible."
"Not as much as you~"
"Point taken... Anyway! I called you because March 1st is in two days!!"
...
I frowned. Yes, I know.... His birthday was here in two days. And yet, here I am on a plane to America...
"Sooo, we're preparing a party for Ai-Ai, and you will help!" he stated without any questions.
"Reiji..."
"We're gonna need a cake, balloons, things related to ocean and a BUNCH of jelly..."
"Reiji."
"Your job will be to distract his attention cause you know, you are the best at that~"
"Kotobuki!" I hissed, making him shut up on the other end. "... Reiji, I can't attend... nor the preparations, nor the party."
"...What?"
"My aunt just suddenly died in America... My whole family is forced to go to her funeral." I muttered darkly. "I'm sitting on the plane right now. I'm already miles away from Japan."
The other end got silent. I bit my lips, feeling horrible.
"I'm sorry, Reiji..."
"N-No, it's okay." he quickly jabbered, almost cutting me off. "I just don't know how will I tell Ai..."
"Trust me, he won't feel like his life is a lie." I grumbled out. Ai was literally always mean to me, no matter what I frigging did. I know he hates me.
I sighed at the thought, starting to watch the clouds once again.
"[N/N]... you are misunderstanding him."
"What the hell do I misunderstand in that? "You always mess up everything, baka." "Silence, you are annoying me." "You will always be only my kouhai, and nothing more... We are not friends..." " I quoted him, rolling my eyes. I liked him... I liked him more than I should have, but his hate towards me killed me inside more with every single day...
"You know how Ai-Ai is... He doesn't really get how he should show his feelings."
"Uhhum..." I muttered.
".... Well, I have to go. I will... try to tell Ai-Ai that you won't be there on his birthday. Be safe, [N/N]-chan, okay?"
"Hai hai..." I sighed.
"Chu~!" I heard him throw a kiss, then the call ended.

I pulled my suitcase behind me, fastening my footsteps as I exited the japanese airport. Soon enough, I spotted a certain green beetle, and ran towards it as much as my suitcase let me to. A brunette soon came out from the car.
"[N/N]-channn!" Reiji screamed hugging me tightly and lifting me into the air.
"Uwah! Mou! Reiji! Put me down!!" I yelled playfully. I didn't want people thinking I'm dating this dork, thank you very much.
After he put me down, he smiled at me.
"You'll never believe it~ The whole QN came to greet you!!"
".... Wait, what!? Seriously!?" I widened my eyes.
"Well, if you count forcing them by stopping here on the way home from an interview, then yes." he grinned like a child, making me sweatdrop.
Yeah, should have known.... Reiji would come to greet me, plus Ranmaru, at max... Camus and Ai are impossible.
We soon both sat in the beetle, me sitting in the passenger seat. I suppose Reiji forced the other three to squish themselves in the backseat just so I could be comfortable... yup, that guy will never change.
"Hey guys!" I smiled turning back to look at them.
Ranmaru was the only one who greeted me back with some kind of salute. Otherwise, silence. I wasn't surprised, by Camus, but...
Ai would usually at least say hi...
"Ai... senpai?" I quickly added. "Happy late birthday... I brought you something from America."
No answer. He was looking out the window, refusing to look at me. I frowned.
"He was like that during his whole party after he heard you wasn't going to attend." Reiji muttered to me quietly.
What...? At least he should have enjoyed his birthday... I thought he was even going to be happy I wasn't there to annoy him.
I looked back at the face of Ai. He was looking out the window with a blank stare... Although, his eyes seemed somewhat... I don't know... darker and angrier.
I looked back in front of myself, biting my lips.
I'm so sorry, Ai...

I finally found him.
He was there, on the balcony, looking at the clear blue sky in complete silence. The wind flowed in his hair... even though his back was facing me... he looked beautiful.
I slowly approached him, looking at his face. For a while, only the blow of the wind broke the silence as I stood beside him and looked at the sky as well.
"... Ai-senpai?" I whispered hesitantly, taking a look at him.
Silence.
"... I'm sorry." I looked back in front of myself sadly. He turned his head away. I slowly took out the album from sea creatures that I bought for him in America, looking through it. I looked at the pictures for a while, then handed it to him without a word, making him look at me.
"... It's yours." I said with a nod after a while.
"..."
He slowly took it from me, his finger brushing against mine in the process. I turned back to looking at the sky, while he started flipping through the pages.
His face expression slowly somewhat softened as he looked at the pictures of sea animals.
He really loves the ocean, doesn't he...

That's it!

"Ai-senpai! I know something even better than an album!" I snapped in an excited voice, making him raise an eyebrow at me.
"Come on! I will make it up to you!" I smiled and grabbed his wrist, starting to drag him.
"Wah- h-hora!! Let me go!" he yelled with a yelp.
"See, you're already talking to me~" I hummed, making him huff a bit and look away.
"You will have fun. You will see!" I gave him a close-eyed smile, and by the time I opened them, his whole face was turned away.
"F... Fine.... but if this is stupid...!"
"Then you will strengthen my schedule, yeah I know. Now come on already, because dragging you is tiring!"

"Tadaaaa! The aquarium!" I sang, lifting up my arms gesturing towards all of the water filled tanks around us.
"..." he looked around, blinking a bit.
"Sooo...?"
".... Well you could've come up with something better..." he slowly shrugged his shoulders, and I rolled my eyes.
"We didn't come to stand around here forever. Come on, let's go!"
"Stop dragging me! Geez, I liked the silent version of you more..."

I stopped in front of the jellyfish tank. "Here is our next stop. I supposed you'd like them because you love jelly and the ocean... So presto, here are the jellyfish."
His eyes were scanning them with childish wonder. How his eyes reflected the lights of the water, the colors dancing in those teal colored orbs...
... Geez, I'm doing it again...
I quickly looked away with the slightest blush.
"... So, is this all?" he suddenly asked sharply. "I'm... not impressed..."
"..." I frowned. "I was simply trying to make you feel better..."
"Well this won't give me back my birthday." he glared at me a bit.
"It wasn't my fault I couldn't attend, Ai...!"
"It's senpai. And why exactly? Did you forget about me that easily?" he hissed.
"No...!"
"Then why? You found America more important? Or you simply didn't want to come because you didn't think it matters?"
"No!! Stop it!!!" I screamed, tears filling my eyes. "I was waiting for your birthday for two months Ai....! I was making plans, I was more excited for it than my own!! It wasn't my fault my aunt died in America when it finally came!!"
"... W-What?" he widened his eyes a bit.
"I'm sorry, Ai! I did all I could do! I brought you presents, I brought you here, I just wanted you to at least talk to me properly again!" I yelled at him. I started getting the attention of other people. "I even... was stupid enough to think about trying to confess to you...!!" I grabbed the medal I bought out of my pocket and threw it towards him. It landed on the ground and broke.
"... I..."
"But nothing is good enough for you! Just because I didn't attend your birthday! You NEVER attended ONE of my birthdays, idiot!! How is that fair...!?"
"[F/N]..."
"No! It's over, Ai, okay!? So enjoy the rest of the day without me!" I grabbed my ticket and shoved it in his hand. "I give up! I quit! Bye!" I screamed then ran out of the aquarium.

No one's POV

"[F/N]! W-Wait!" Ai snapped after her, but she was gone. He frowned, and slowly looked down at the broken medal on the ground. He picked it up, and opened it.
On one of the sides, there was a picture of [F/N] hugging him, while him frowning and trying to push her off... but it was still cute. He liked that picture himself... not like he would admit it.
On the other side, three words were scratched into the metal.

"I love you"...

"...." Ai looked back at the spot where [F/N] ran off to with slightly wide eyes.
"... I have to fix this..." he muttered.

[F/N]'s POV

There I was, on the balcony... yet again. The sun was setting this time, and the spring breeze was a bit colder and wider now, flowing in my hair.
Then, I heard faint footsteps behind me. Seconds later, Ai was standing beside me, looking at the sunset with me.
Silence.
The situation repeated itself, only it was backwards. Otherwise the blow of the wind, nothing could be heard, as I refused to look at Ai.
Ai didn't say anything for a long while. I think, it was more difficult for him to put what he feels into words. I thought he won't say anything after all, but then, he breathed out a single word.
"Ditto."
I looked at him confused. He opened his hand... the medal I bought for him was in his palm.
...Wait. He doesn't mean....
"... Look." he sighed a bit after he shoved the medal in his pocket. "... You shouldn't have worked all this much just to make me happy... It was stupid."
I sighed in my head.
Nope, he does not...
But, that thought was proved wrong.
A hand was slowly placed on my mine... while another gently grabbed my chin, turning my head. Before I knew it, I was looking back into a pair of serious looking blue eyes.
"... You already gave me the best present in the world... yourself." he whispered. I could feel his breath on my lips, and my cheeks grew warm.
"A-Ai..." I stuttered out.
"Shh." he shushed me. "... May I...?"
Oh man....
He is gonna kiss me...
My mind went blank. I couldn't think straight and all I could stare at was those beautiful eyes. Before I knew it, I was nodding, and Ai was leaning in.
"... No, this isn't working." he muttered, completely confused, pulling back only an inch. "Our noses are in the way..."
"... Um... Ai..." I slowly mumbled. "I-I think you are supposed to tilt your head..."
"... Oh." he breathed out. "Okay... let me try again."
He leaned towards me again, and this time, his lips successfully pressed against mine softly. I slowly closed my eyes and shyly kissed him back. The kiss only lasted for a few seconds, before Ai pulled back a bit, putting his forehead against mine.
".... Well I didn't know you had it in you..." I chuckled a bit, still blushing like insane.
"... S-Shut it!" he jumped back and turned away. "B-Baka..."
"You know, I only realized now why you were always mean to me. You are a frigging tsundere. That's adorableeee~"
"A-Adorable!?" he repeated. "No, I'm... not... shut it." he completely turned away, crossing his arms. "Mou..."
I giggled. "Take it easy Ai-chan." I grabbed his cheeks and pecked his lips. "You are more precious when you smile..."
"..." he sighed. "You are impossible."
"Not the first one who said it."
He rolled his eyes playfully and pecked my lips as well. "I love you.... baka."
