chapter lxvi.

Silence.

A deafening
silence
comes next.

No one speaks after
what happened.

And me, I was drawn
into deeper
thoughts.

There are things about Aki
I don't know about,
the same goes
for me.

Me, this whole time
feeling guilty that
I didn't tell her about
my past and why
I'm living far away
with my parents.

I remember, she didn't ask me
and I didn't
ask her, too.

I let out a sigh.

"Nana!"

I look up just to see
my father's face.

I almost forget he is here.

I look away.

"Let's talk!"

I bit my lip.

What is it this time?

I'm contented now
please don't disturb
me anymore.

I caught a glimpse of her.

She is standing at the door,
with Nana Silva.

Mama!

"Nana, my child. Let's go back home!"

I bit my lips hard, as I clenched my fist.

Her voice is so soft like she is singing me a lullaby.

Making me forget what happened in the past.

There is longing.

There is love.

"I miss you!"

Her voice cracked

and my
tears
fell.

Slowly.
Painfully.
