The voodoo doll charms on our family heirloom bracelet are so creepy. Their pale blue eyes flashed. Their mouths frowned at me with hate. I shivered. "Stop. Please," I said to the dolls. "It一" I stopped as I saw a shadow looming over me.
"Ahhhh!" I yelled. The figure marched over to me.
It was my archenemy, Angel Smith. "What are you doin huh? Talking to yourself?" She smirked. "Erm...Well...I..." I stammered. "Ugly rag! You had better answer me!" Angel screamed.
"First," I shouted. "TELL ME WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE! THIS IS MY HOUSE! MINE! YOU TRESPASSED OKAY?! NOW, SCRAM!"
Angel looked a little taken aback. "Okay okay. Chill. I'll go okay? Ugly rag!" She always called me Ugly rag even though my name was Rachel Dawson. She flicked her golden waterfall of curls back as she hurried down the stairs and out of the door. I went down and locked the door.
My parents were out so how did Angel get in here? She didn't have the keys. Wait. Did she? I checked my room and went to my bedside table. My keys were GONE?! Gosh! My keys!
I found my bedroom window open. Now I was a little 12-year-old Sherlock Holmes. FOOTPRINTS!!! IN MY ROOM TOO?! Just then, I saw Angel and her best friend, Prudence Simms, gathering outside my house. They looked up.
"Hey RACHEL! Yoo hoo!" Angel hollered in a mocking tone. "Come get your keys!"
Prudence blew a raspberry at me. "Come on. I dare you to slide down that water pipe. When you reach the ground, we WILL return your keys."
I grabbed our family heirloom bracelet and wore it. It made me shiver but I had no choice since I had to take care of it. I also ought to slide down that pipe! I will show them my guts!
I clutched the pipe with both arms and legs. The wind seemed to have a motive: to blow me away. But I had to hold on. I just thought: Come on, bear with it Rachel. You can do it.
The voodoo doll charms seemed to jeer at me. Their eyes flashed with amusement. The wind was laughing. My archenemy was laughing. Everyone was. My palms were sweaty and clammy. I really could not seem to hold onto the pipe.
It was slippery. My body felt so heavy! I clenched my teeth and shut my eyes as I felt myself plummet to the ground.
Laughter and jeering rang in my ears and the seemingly loudest bump shook me as I blacked out.
