Chapter twenty six- Peggy the big brain
(A/N Even though they have British accents, I still can't imagine them with an accent. I just read it in my plain boring terrible American accent, and then catch myself later like 'Right their British-')
I blinked open my eyes to see bright lights filtering through the blue curtains of the Ravenclaw boys dorms, making the room a shade of royal blue. I blinked a couple more times, yawned, and then realized John was gone. Was he ever here? I don't know. I don't remember anything from last night.
John crashed into me in the field... Then he told me some news. And Then I hopped on my broom and flew t my dorm, and checked on Pip like always. There had been something different with Pip. I remembered, putting a pencil to my temple to help me concentrate.
Pip was.... Yeah, Pip's a girl! That was the news. But why was that so important that John smashed through the window to get here? I ended up slamming my head on my bedside table, trying to get my memory to work, almost knocking over my little cactus Jefferson had given me a long time ago. I don't know why I kept it.
It had been the one sweet thing Jefferson had done for me. I think I had been walking down the hallway with him when we ran into John, which we had just saw him walking in the opposite direction, so it was confusing why he was there. And then Jefferson noticed I was watching John and realized I looked sad. So then he bought me the present to help me feel better.
I gently tapped the cactus. Then realized I was thinking of Jefferson and mentally freaked out. I don't still like him, do I? I mean, I never liked him. I just... when he gave me that cactus, it was the one time he ever did something sweet for me.
I want to bring that sweet side out of him again. He'll be recovering in two weeks, I can maybe talk to him then. I was so disappointed when Dumbledore didn't expel him, but I guess now it was a not super bad thing, because we could talk again. Yeah. I do wan't to talk to him. I want to tell him to the face that I don't love him, I don't regret what I did to him, and that maybe we could be friends, if these experiences have changed him.
I wanted to do that. But I don't know if I'll be able to go near him, after what he's done to me. I'll work up the courage somehow. I need to tell him how much I hate him before the year ends, that's my goal. But maybe also form a friendship.
Maybe I would become the ultimate Peace Maker, with my Bringer of Death bodyguard. I would cut ties between me and all my enemies, and maybe make friends with them in the process! I could help other people who are struggling with bullies and fix everything. How I wish that could become a reality.
I smiled to myself a bit, finally looking at Jefferson as the person I can be okay around instead of Demon-I-must-obey-or-I-die-and-I-will-forever-fear-him. I twisted around in bed, then pushed myself upwards. I noticed a small bundle of cloth in the corner, where Pip usually slept. Pip... THAT'S WHAT IT WAS! PIP HAD EGGS! I suddenly remembered, mentally facepalming at how idiotic I was.
My smile grew wide and I jumped off my bed, rushing towards the blanket.
"Alex!" Someone called.
I paused, halfway to the blanket. I looked over and saw Peggy in the doorway to the dormitory.
"What are you doing here?" I asked her.
"Er um, nothing, come on there's something important outside of this room," Peggy said.
"I have got check on something," I said quickly.
"NO NO! Um I mean't, this is more important," Peggy said.
I took a glance as the blanket. I saw a bit of blue-purple feathers move inside it. Pip will protect them. I thought, walking towards Peggy.
"Whats going on?" I asked.
"What? Nothing," Peggy said. "OH! Yeah! Big urgent event. Come and see."
She grabbed my hand and pulled me quickly out of the room, down the spiral staircase and then outside the common room. She then slowed the pace, by a lot. We where walking as slow as snails. I decided to pick up my pace, hoping Peggy would get it as a hint that I would like to move faster. But Peggy still walked slowly, and when there was a fork in the road I had to slow down so she could lead me in the right direction.
She took a slow left and I walked behind her.
"Can we move faster?" I asked, irritated.
"I was moving slow?" Peggy asked in her thick British accent. Because she has a thick British accent BECAUSE IT'S IN BRITAIN and she's lived there her WHOLE LIFE.
"Yes," I was loosing my patience.
Peggy picked up the pace. By one mile per hour.
"Ugh," I complained. "Peggyyyyyyy."
Peggy ignored me, and kept walking at her slow pace. I felt like one of those mad scientists that are slowly going insane and they rip out all their hair. I wanted to rip out my hair. Okay no, thats I lie, my hair is perfection, but still. I turned a corner, then I realized where we where. This is the hallway leading to the Ravenclaw common room... she led me in a circle. A very slow circle.
"PEGGY," I said, stomping angrily towards her.
"What?" She asked, turning to face me.
"YOU LED ME IN A CIRCLE! FOR THIRTY MINUTES!" I shouted.
"Oh, looks like we did go in a circle," Peggy said, tapping her index finger on her chin and looking around.
I grabbed her shoulders and shook her.
"What is the super urgent event?" I asked her.
"Um- Lafayette was going to stuff baguettes up his nose," Peggy said.
"THAT'S THE URGENT EVENT?!" I shouted.
"There was more! Aaron was going to... belly dance!" Peggy said.
"That's- really funny, BUT NOT URGENT!" I said, putting my hand on my face.
"There's more though. Eliza bought a pig, Angelica was getting married and Hercules was going to come out," Peggy said.
"Peggy, nobody cares about a pig, Angelica is not that stupid, and we all know Hercules is as gay as Lafayette dancing with unicorns on a rainbow," I said.
"True," Peggy said.
"Okay, please lead me to where this is all happening. Also, have you seen John?" I asked Peggy.
"Oh yeah John was waiting there for you. He said he was going to do some weird magic and stuff," Peggy said as we started to walk at a brisk pace.
We continued down the hall. Over time my worry for Pip and the eggs was growing.
"Ooo look lets go in here," Peggy said suddenly, walking into Professor McGonogall's classroom.
"Peggggy," I complained, following her inside.
The classroom was empty. What is wrong with this person?
"Oh how interesting," Peggy said, admiring some spilled ink on a desk.
"Peggy we've been headed towards this room for TWO HOURS!" I yelled.
"Has it been that long?" Peggy asked.
"PEGGY YOU'RE DRIVING ME INSANE," I screamed.
*~*
I sent Peggy to go check on Alexander two hours ago. I sent her because she was really good at stalling, so if he was awake then she would be stalling him. I had just gotten the eggs back from the culprit, who was Benedict Arnold. I have no idea how he got there, and I think he took the eggs because they where worth a whole lot of money.
I had told everyone who had helped with the Polyjuice Potion to go off and do normal things after me and Peggy knew who it was. I stuffed eight really heavy eggs into a bag hanging from my shoulder, then I headed out of the Room of Requirement, and into the hallway.
Once I arrived, I got on my broomstick, flying out and around the common room. The moving picture that was also the door the the common room would never let a Hufflepuff inside, so I had to sneak in through the window.
I landed inside the dorm, and walked towards the blanket where Pip and Pita would be. I gently laid the rest of the eggs next to Pip. Pip curled around them, purring like a cat.
"JOHHHHHHN," I heard someone yell.
I turned to see Alex at the entrance to the dorm, his Ravenclaw tie flipped around, his hair all messed up and he looked like he had been in a fight.
"What happened to you?" I asked.
"Peggy. I wanted to come back and she tried to force me away from this place," Alex said, walking towards me. "I only got away because of my powers."
I smiled at him as he came over to me. He peeked into the blanket, saw the eggs, and smiled happily. His smile was so adorable, I'm so glad I'm alive to see it almost each day. Then he turned to me.
"Sooooo was there really Aaron belly dancing, baguettes up noses, a pig and a wedding?" Alex asked.
I started laughing. A lot of laughing. I fell over onto my side, laughing. What was this guy talking about? Alex started laughing too, he must be realizing how funny and idiotic that sounded. What a weird life we have.
