I rubbed my temples as I processed the new information. The probability of Sunwoo being taken by a family member was now higher than that of some random sicko. The only problem was who and on which side. There were so many holes that I needed filled.

I opened my eyes and saw nothing but darkness. I didn't know how long I was out for. I couldn't move my limbs. I spun myself around and confirmed I wasn't contained in a tiny space. Now would be a great time to have light. I heard footsteps approaching me from afar.
"You've evaded me for a while, but I have you now." I was too tired to bother looking up. "You can talk you know." I didn't feel like talking. I looked straight ahead at the pair of shoes in front of me. "Sunwoo..." I felt an unfamiliar hand on my head and swiftly moved away.
"So that's no good..." I felt something touch my arm, causing me to roll away. "So you don't want to be touched." "Let me go." "Can't." I was thankful that the person didn't seem hostile. "Are you hungry?" I stayed quiet. "I'll bring food anyway. I can't have you looking thin."
I heard their receding footsteps then sighed. I sat up then noticed a brief gleam of light. I scooted forward then felt something hard collide with my face. "A wall..." I used it to my advantage and managed to sit myself up. I sighed then let my head slide slightly.
More light briefly filtered in. "I'm blindfolded...?" I tried using the wall to loosen the blindfold. I gave up then opted for trying with my shoulder. I moved it enough to be able to see around. I continued to move it then smiled when it slid down my face.
"A room...?" I was wrong. It was an attic. I waddled over to the single window in sight and looked out. I had no idea where I was. "Sunwoo, I'm coming with food." I moved away from the window then lied flat on my stomach, hiding my face.
"Don't tell me you fell asleep again..." I remained still. "I'll refrigerate it then." They descended the stairs then closed it. I had many emotions running through me. I cried. I didn't want to die. I had so many things I wanted to do with Eric.
Eric. I had forgotten all about him. I started to wonder how he was doing, if he even noticed I was missing. I looked out the window once more. I really had no concept of time. It be a day later, a week, even a month. A part of me felt no one was looking for me.
Was my aunt worried? I had given her nothing but grief, but did she care enough to put in effort to have me found? I thought of Eric then felt myself calming down. I felt my body temperature rise as my mind went wild with my thoughts. I wanted to hide my embarrassment.

I couldn't focus in school at all. We had a new principal, but everyone acted as if nothing happened. As if she never existed, as if they never existed. This wasn't something that happens every day. It was so weird. "Seung." "Yo?" "Don't you find this whole thing weird?"
"Them disappearing? Iunno, I guess. No one really liked her, and Sunwoo had very few friends, just like you." I sighed as I turned the page with the rest of the class. "I want to do something, but I don't know where to start." "You already talked to his ex, right?" "Yeah."
He looked lost in thought then smiled. "Hakjin." "Him? I doubt he'll know anything about Sunwoo. He wasn't really out there until this school year." "Better safe than sorry." I sighed then searched for his number to ask him questions.
I exhaled then felt a hand on my shoulder. "Two things. One, class is over and next period will be starting soon. Two, what did he say?" "I'll tell you on the way to class." I quickly shoved my things in my bag then hurried out the door.
We sat on the roof as we discussed possibilities. "So, his grandparents are dead except one?" "Yes." "And that's on his mom's side?" "Yes." He sighed then lied back. "This is harder than Korean History." "It's really not. Anyway, I'm going to head over to his uncle's."
He quickly sat up. "You know where he lives?" "I will know, when I poke around." He didn't look too thrilled with the plan. "What's wrong?" "I'm just worried...What if something happens to you?" "Nothing will happen. I've been caring for myself since-"
I stopped then furrowed my brows. "I know, but you're not invincible...I want to see you in one piece." "Then come with me?" "I...I'd love to, but my parents..." "Didn't hurt to ask." "Make sure you take everything you need." "You make it seem like I'm fleeing or something."
We erupted into laughter at the thought. "And take your story. I'm sure this trip will do you some good." "As if I'd leave without it." "Bring it in." He pulled me into a hug then patted my back. "Seung?" "Hm?" "You can let go now." "Right."

I walked about the room, having nothing better to do. The mattress was hardly comfy and there wasn't anything mentally stimulating up in the attic. I squatted by the window and watched cars go by. If only I knew where I was. "Sunwoo!" I sighed then pretended to be asleep.
I didn't want to interact with him. He was the whole reason I was even here. "Still sleeping? God, how much sleep do you need? Well, I'll leave these here, in case you want something to do." The door soon closed. I lifted my head and saw a few books lying beside the mattress.
I picked one up then started to read. It had me thinking back to when Eric showed me his. My heart started to hurt. I closed the book then turned away from them. I missed him and his sensitive self. I missed the thrill of being with him.
