Chapter Two

“This is a new era for the Pink Floyd!” Roger blurted as he filled his drink. “To the 70s!” he raised his glass and clinked it against all of ours.

We all downed our drinks which kicked off the exciting night of partying in America. I loved everything about it already, and I was having the time of my life. I was under David’s arm protectively for most of the night as the club was crowded with drunken and high people; I guess he didn’t want anything to happen to me.

“Let’s go get more drinks!” I told David, pulling him up as we got out of the booth. He had his arm around my waist as we tried to get through the crowd of people. The band really did deserve a party like this.

“All of these people are here for you” I said in amazement as we waited at the bar for our drinks. “That’s so crazy.”

David laughed and brushed his hair back. “Couldn’t have done it without you, baby.”

“What about the band?” I teased.

“Oh, yeah, they’re alright too” he joked. He was charming one moment, funny the next, and then all around seductive. I absolutely loved that about him.

The band was passing around a joint when we got back into the booth. David and I took a hit and continued to sip on our drinks to the point where we were both feeling drunk.

“You know,” Roger started and looked at David and I, “I like you two together”

“Uhm, thanks Rog” David laughed.

“Remember Dave, the night you met her? You were so fucking scared to go talk to her because you thought that she’d reject you” he leaned back and let out a high laugh. “2 years later and it seems like we’re back at the same spot… at a club in a booth!”

I looked at David and he smiled awkwardly. “You thought that I’d reject you? I think that should be the other way around” I laughed.

“I’ve never seen David so nervous to talk to a girl!” Nick admitted jokingly. God, I loved being with the band. They were so fun to be around, and we’ve never had a dull moment before.

As the night went on, we all went our separate ways and mingled throughout the crowd. David and I had to stop so many times because people would come up to him and start talking to him, but I didn’t mind. I knew that this entire thing made him so happy.

We must have been right in the middle of the crowd a little while later, because I was surrounded by people. Everyone was so tall compared to me. David started to talk to some guy as I awkwardly stood beside him, until I got pushed by someone. I took a few steps back, trying not to lose my balance, and accidently bumped into someone behind me. Bad idea.

I turned around and saw a girl glaring at me. She had spilled her orange coloured drink all down her white blouse, my fault for bumping into her after being pushed.

“What the fuck is your problem?” her accent was so different, but she sounded pissed off. I would be too if someone spilled a drink on me, honestly.

“I’m so sorry” I frantically apologized.

“This fucking broad spilled my drink!” she turned to the girl that she was talking to.

I stood motionless, not sure what to do. But just then, I felt someone grab onto my hand tightly and pull me back.

“I’m so sorry about that, love. I’ll pay for your next drink” David offered, trying to make things better. He handed the girl some money and she left to the bar table.

“Do you have to get yourself into trouble at every damn party?” He angrily asked me.

“I’m sorry.”

“Christ sakes” he loosened his grip on my hand and locked his fingers with mine.

We walked around in silence for a while before we saw Roger hitting on a girl with black hair.

“Hey, Dave!” he shouted. “I say we carry the party on at our hotel.” he more so demanded than asked.

“I’ll get Rick and Nick” he told him, pulling me along.

“And a drink for the lady” Rick charmed as he handed a glass to the girl he met. We were all sitting in Roger’s hotel room, each member with a girl. David and I were the only steady ones.

“I can’t believe it, Pink Floyd!” Nick’s girl, Monica I think was her name, said.

“Well you better believe it, darling” he kissed her cheek. It’s so funny to see how cute they make a one night stand seem.

“We can leave if you want” David slurred in my ear.

“Let’s stay for a bit” I smiled and kissed him.

In the long run, it was a bad idea to stay. The girls that the band picked up were becoming sluttier as they downed drink after drink. Eventually, they started to take off their clothes so David and I left and stumbled out of the door, saying goodbye to everyone. This one girl glared at me, but I paid no attention to her. What does she matter, anyway?

“I could get used to touring” I chuckled as we got back into our hotel room which was 2 doors down from Roger’s.

“Good! You’ll be coming with me for the years to come” he winked.

I wrapped my arms around him and gave him a kiss on his alcohol tasting lips. “Let’s go on the balcony!”

The night was gorgeous. The stars blanketed the night sky as you heard the swift sound of the wind blowing in through the very few trees that surrounded us. The streets were still busy, like always. It wasn’t quite home, but I was happy.

“I love you so much” he told me. “Except when you embarrass me at parties” he let out a light laugh.

“It wasn’t even my fault” I said a bit rudely, not that I planned to. “Well, I love you too” I added.

I looked down onto the parking lot below us, and then headed back inside. I stripped down into my white and pink lacey underwear and threw on a tanktop to sleep in, but then David picked me up and threw me on the bed. I was relieved that he wasn’t angry with me for “embarrassing” him.  He leaned over me and kissed me a few times before rolling onto my side to look at me.

“You’re beautiful” he complimented, “I don’t think I tell you that enough.”

I smiled and gave him a quick kiss before reaching over to turn the light off. David put his arm around me and started to kiss my neck as his fingers traced up and down my body. He climbed back on top of me and slowly slid his hands down my body, and then left a trail of kisses down to my hips. He started to play with the lace on my panties, but suddenly we heard a banging on the door.

“DAVID, OPEN UP” Roger yelled.

“WHAT?!” he yelled back, sounding frustrated.

“This girl is puking everywhere, I need help!”

David moved back up to my lips and kissed me gently. “Aren’t you going to help him?” I asked.

“No, I think I’ll just stay here with you” he kissed me again.
