CHAPTER FIVE: GOOD TO BE BACK

"Well, not the welcome we expected" you said "Yeah, it didn't seems like our siblings have missed us" Five said as you and him entered his bedroom.

"Yeah, they could care less" you said as the two of you sat down on the bed "Maybe they care, but just don't show it 'cause of dad that fucking heartless bastard, he emotional abused us, so of course the people in this family don't show emotions. Maybe they are just in shock over everything that has happen and they just need to figure it out. Maybe they are a bit slow" you said "Well, they have always being slow" Five said before he let out a scoff "I have expected that they would at least have said '"Hey great you guys are back' but no they don't care at all" he said.

"I'm sure they care in some way. I hope" you said "Then they don't show it" he said "They care. Trust me" you said "They sure don't have a good way of showing it" he said "Not everyone shows love the same way, Fivey" you said before hugged him tight "We said it ourself, we had a shit father, he wasn't the best at showing affection. He emotional abused us, so of course we have it hard showing our emotions" you said and he looked at you.

"I have learn that not everyone will love the same. There are not just one way to love, it's different for different people. For you for an example Five, you are most emotionally and acts of service at least to me you are. You always make sure I'm feeling my best, doesn't matter what position you're in. You do things that show your love like gift or surprises. You show more that you love me than you say it and I love that about you. Even so we grew up in the same situations. We had a robot mother and our father wasn't affectionate. So it would make sense for our love languages to be different, you know" you said and he nodded.  

 "Yeah, you are right" he said with a nod "But I expected Klaus to actually hug me" you said.

"You okay, Hargreeves?" he asked "I'm fine, Hargreeves" you said and he smiled.

"I love you" he said to you "I love you too" you said and he smiled.

"I'm glad that I married you" he said "Well, you were the only other person alive in the world, so I didn't really have any other choice" you joke and he chuckled.

Sometimes you and Five joke about not having any other choice than be with each other.

"Well, we need to change clothes. This shoes and clothes are too big for me" you said as you looked down on yourself "I mean, even my bra is suddenly too big" you said "Well, they do look a little---" Five said as he reach his left hand towards your bumps.

"Hey" you said as you slap his hand away "Ouch" he said as he pulled his hand back "Not now, naughty boy. Let's just changed clothes and when we had stopped the apocalypse, we can do a lot of that" you said.

You moved forwards before you connected your lips onto his and he smirked onto the kiss as he pulled you closer to him.

"Well, we better chanced clothes" he said "And you also need to fix your hair. It look a little messy after the jump" you said "You can fix it and maybe cut it a little bit, like you always do" he said "Alright, but only if you also cut my hair" you said "Of course" he said.

You were always the one that used to cut Five's hair and he was always the one that would cut yours, he would also braid your hair sometimes.

You found a scissor before the two of you went to the closest bathroom and closed the door behind you.

"Alright, sit down, so I can fix and cut your hair" you said as you pointed at a chair.

"Yes, Mrs." he said before he walked over to you and sat down so he had his back to you

You lifted the scissor before you began to cut his hair.

Five took a deep breath before he looked down at hands "Don't move your head" you moved his head back "Or I'm gonna cut off your ears, even so you don't really use them" you said.

You then moved his head down, so he was looking at his hands causing him to let out a sigh "Don't worry. We are going to find a way to get our bodies back. I hate it too being in this body. Nobody will take us seriously" you said "I hope we find a way, I don't know what went wrong" he said "I do" he turned his head to look at you "You do?" he asked "I said don't move" you moved his head back to the spot from before.

"Yeah. Now when I realized it and think about it some more. I could see what went wrong. You put the decimal in the wrong spot in your proof of the existence of a bound for the number of limit cycles of planar polynomial vector fields of fixed degree. You wrote down five-point-seven. It should be..." "Zero-point-five-seven" both you and Five said "Shit. I knew that didn't look right. Why didn't you tell me?" he asked "I tried too but you didn't listen and it was first after we jump through the vortex, that I realized that something was wrong" you said before cutting the last small piece of the edge of his hair off.

"Done" you said before stepping back and Five looked in a small mirror that was hanging on his wall "That looks good" he said before he turned around "Now it's your turn" he said before the two of you swift places.

After Five had cut your hair and braid two small braids, one on each side of your ponytail, you left to go change clothes while Five walked over to his closet before opening it to only find a full row of Umbrella Academy uniforms.

"Ah, shit" he said before he grabbed one of them.

You walked into your old bedroom, you noticed how just like Five's room, everything was exactly how you left it, organized. Not a single thing have being moved.

You smiled when you looked at pictures of you and your siblings back from when you were kids. Some of them were you were making funny faces, you all look like a happy family.

Then you spotted your piano before you just stared at it and you spotted something above the piano keys, something that was carved in.

It was yours and Five's initial with a heart around was carved into the piano. You slid your finger down the carving and smiled while you thought back to that moment it was carved in.

Flashback start...

 You were eleven years old and you were sitting in your room by your piano playing while singing a song called 'Don't be afraid'

"Never mind the darkness. Never mind the storm. Never mind the blood red moon. The night will be over soon. The night will be over soon. Brush away the sorrow. Brush away the tears. Then you heard someone clapping behind you causing you to turn around to see Five standing by the door, leaning against it "Jesus Five, don't sneak up like that Jumpy Guy" you said and Five just let out a smile "Thank you for the show" he walked towards you "You get better and better" he said and you moved a bit to the side, so Five could sit down next to you "You know, you play just as wonderful as you sing" Five said, causing you to let out a smile.

Where did all the people go?
They got scared
When the lights went low

Five then looked at the piano keys "You know that I can teach you if you like, is not that hard when you first know how to do it" you Five's right hand and put his fingers on the keys. "C, D,E and F" you said as you put four of his fingers on each key before you looked at each other.

I'll get you through it nice and slow
When the world's spinning out of control

"Will you promise me something, Y/n?" he asked "Of course" you said "That we will always be there for each other, no matter what, and that you will never change, will you promise me that?" he asked "I promise, if you also promise me something?" you asked "Anything" he said "That you will always like me, and that we will always be friends" you said "What is there not to like?" he asked causing you to let out a small laugh "But yeah, I promise that I will always like you" he said "And we will always be friends, right?" you asked.

"Why that question?" he asked as he looked at you "Well, soon we'll all be adults, moving away, live our own life, have families of your own, and will be apart for a while and we get so busy with our own life that we forget about each other" you said before looking at him "If that happens, we'll still be friends right? You won't replace me?" you asked and he chuckled "Of course we'll always be friends. No matter what happens. I promise that I will always like you and we will always be best friends, I will never replace you Y/n, or forget you. I will always be here for you. And I will always be your Jumpy Guy, your Pretty Boy, Coffee Boy, Short Pants and your Fivey. No matter what happens, or how many years will past, there will always be a Y/n and a Five. The heart and the head. Always and forever. Us against time" he said "Promise?" you lifted your pinky "I'm gonna need a pinky promise" you said and he smiled before he lifted his pinky and hooked it with yours.

"I Five Hargreeves promise to always be there for you Y/n Hargreeves, I promise I will never replace you" he said "It's you and me, us against time" you both said as you looked at each other while your pinky were hooked.

You both chuckled as you remove your hands "I also have something else for you" he said before he took a deep breath and he pulled up a beautiful brown leather bracelet with a silver number five on it from his pocket.

Afraid of what they might lose
Might get scraped
Or they might get bruised

On the bracelet was there was silver number five and a silver star.

It was simple but perfect and that's what Five knew you love, something simple.

You could beg them, what's the use?

"I know that your favorites number is five and I knew that you love watching the stars" he said and you smiled.

"Wow, Five, I don't know what to say" you said "Put it on" he said and you turned your left wrist so Five could put the bracelet on your wrist.

I'll get it if you need it

"It's just something that took me some time to make, failed a few times, but I did it. Dad once caught me with the first one I bought and threw it out where after he threatened that there will be consequences if I do that again. But I kept doing it and he almost caught me again. So I had to hide it" Five said as he closed the bracelet.

"And after a long time of trying, I finally did it" Five said as you looked at the bracelet "You made this?" you asked "Well, I draw the necklace first, took me a long time to get it right, I then stole some of dad's money and went up to a store and ask them to made this bracelet" he explain.

"I hope you like it" he said "Like it? Are you kidding me. I love it. Thank you so much" you osaid "I'm glad you love it" he said.

Funny when times get hard
At the last moment when you're supposed to charge

"It's beautiful, Five" you said.

Hiding here hiding there
Find them underneath the stairs
People hiding everywhere
Tryna be still as a stone, but

"It's perfect, I will never take it off. I will have it with me until the end of time" you said "See it as a sign of our strong bond and connection and on how close we are, like the heart and the heart" he said "The heart and the head" you said "It also means, you and me, together, always and forever until the end of time, no matter what" he said and you looked at each other with a smile.

I'll get it if you need it
I'll search if you don't see it

"There is also something else I want to give you" he said and pulled up a small knife "I borrowed one of Diego's knives" he said "Borrowed?" you asked "Okay, I borrowed it without asking, he wouldn't notice" he said before he started carving something right above the piano keys.

You smiled as you watched him carve yours and his initial into the piano, he then carved something around it, something that look like a heart "What is that, is it a potato?" you asked and he gave you a look "I'm really that bad?" he asked "I'm kidding, I know it's a heart" you said and he smiled as he finished the carving.

"I also have something for you" you said "You don't have to..." "Yeah I do" you got up before walking over to a painting that was hanging on the wall "I had to hide it in case Dad would find it and threw it out" you said.

"But you gave me a picture of us together last month. And I still have it on me. I always lay it under my pillow when I'm going to sleep and the first thing I do in the morning is putting it in my inner pocket, so I always have it on me" he said "Well, that picture is not enough" you said before moving the painting a bit forward, taking your hand behind it and pulled out a small present before moving the painting back.

You then walked back to sit next to Five "There you go" you gave him the small white present.

"My plan was to give it to you on our birthday, but since you have giving me something, I think I better give you this" you said.

It's such a beautiful night to make a change in our lives
East Anglian sky, empty bottle of wine

He opened the present and saw a wrist watch.

What a wonderful way to spend a moment or two
To be lyin' awake and be here talkin' to you
I got somethin' to say, I know what I gotta do
To be makin' a change, now the moment of truth

The watch was an aluminum bezel 16610 Submariner on a rubber strap.

The watch's case was silver. The dial was black. The band of the watch was black and the hour and minute hands of the watch were white.

"I was out for a walk one day and I saw this in a Store Window and I think it would look perfect on you" you said and he looked at you "Thanks" he said and you smiled.

He picked up the watch and put it around his left wrist "This is the best gift I have ever gotten. And I will never take it off" he said "But what if Dad sees it and forces you to take it off?" you asked "I will make sure that my sleeves will cover it. I will never take it off, no matter what, the only way this watch will come off, is if someone chop my arm off" he said and you both chuckled.

And so I count to three
And get on one knee
And I ask you

"I know that it as not as good as your gift" you said "For me it is. I love this and also as long as your heart is beating and you are breathing, that is enough for me" he said causing you to smile before you rested your head on his shoulder "Five, I promise you, that I will always be there for you, no matter what" you said and he smiled "And I promise you Y/n, that no matter what happens, I will always like you, we will always be friends and I will always be able to find my way back to you" he said causing her to smile "We will always be able to find a way back to each other, no matter what" you said and he smiled as he rested his head on top of yours.

I've waited all this time

Five felt like he could be himself with you, he could tell you everything and you would never judge him. He could act soft and kind with you and you wouldn't tease him or make fun of him.

He feel like he could tell you everything.

But there was one thing he couldn't tell you, no matter how much he practiced in front of the mirror in his bedroom, he could never tell you, never had the courage to tell you the most important thing he wanted to tell.

How much he really love you and what you mean to him.

Flashback end...

You smiled as you thought to that moment. 

Then you walked over to your closet before opening it to only find a full row of Umbrella Academy uniforms.

"Damn it" you said before you grabbed one of them and changed.

You let out a sigh as you look yourself in the mirror. "I look like a little school girl" you sighed.

"I think you look good in that" a voice said and you turned to see Allison standing by the door.  

"Hey Ally" you smiled "So it is good to be back?" she asked "Yeah" you nodded.

"How was it, the future?" Allison asked "Honestly, it was terrible and horrible. There was a few things I enjoy, the peace and quite but otherwise I didn't enjoy the rest of it. If it wasn't for Five, I would have ended my life a long time ago. I wouldn't have being able to handle it all alone" you said.

"Five?" Allison asked in surprise, she was surprise that her brother Five had been the reason someone had stayed sane. 

"Yeah. He kept me going. Gave me something to hold on to, just like I did for him. We kept each alive. He had truly been my savior in the darkest time in my life, he was my light, just like I was for him. When all hope seemed to be lost and I was very close in losing it. Five had been the one to pull me back in. He kept me going, me from losing hope and give up, just like I did for him. We gave each other something to fight for" you said and Allison let out a small smile.

"I know that Five is no angel, I'm not either, we have both done some things to survive, things no human being have to do, just to get back to where we are now. But through it all, Five have remained by my side, clutching my hand and holding me close. Just like I have done for him. We had being by each other side for years and never left. He had become my husband" you said "That is a shock, how were you able to handle him?" Allison asked "It was hard. I remember he kept blaming himself for getting stuck in the future. I know he is no angel, but I love him anyway" you said "How long have you and him being together?" Allison asked "Well, we have being by each other's side 45 years, together for 40 and married for 38" you said.

"How did you handle him for so many years?" Allison asked "It was not easy, but I was not better either, both stubborn people" you said "I think it's impress" Allison said "Yeah, both Five and I are also surprised" you said.

"You know, I'm glad that you are back, we have missed you" Allison said "I have missed you guys too" you smiled.

When you returned back to Five's bedroom, you saw him struggled a little bit with his tie.

He changed into his blue school uniform. A dress shirt, tie, and vest underneath a blue blazer with matching schoolboy short, he had blue shorts and black knees length socks on. You had the same uniform on.

"Jesus, why is it suddenly so hard with this tie" Five groaned.

Then he heard a chuckled and he looked towards the sound to see you standing in the door way "Having trouble Jumpy guy?" you asked "No" he said as he continue to struggle which cause you to chuckled.

"Do you think is funny?" he asked "Actually yeah, why do you have trouble fixing a tie now?" you asked "It's those stupid child hands, I can't..." he said before he let out a groan again.

"Do you want my help?" you asked "No, I got it" he said as he tried again but fail.

"WHY IS THIS SO DAMN DIFFICULT!" he said out loud "Easy" you said with a chuckled before walking over to him "You can't fix your tie without me" you said and he turned around so he was facing you.

"Well, then it's good I have you to fix it for me, Love" he smirked before he kissed your cheek.

"Let me" your hands went to his blazer's collar.

"You are unbelievable sometimes" you said "I know, but you still love me" he said and you rolled your eyes "Yeah, but sometimes it's hard" you said before you adjusted the tie better and tighten it. You then folded the collar of his shirt back down and patted his shoulder which cause him to smile.

"There you go" you said "What would I do without you?" he asked "Probably whining about not being able to tie a tie" you said with a smile and he chuckled.

"How are you?" he asked "Good. Just a little annoying that you screw up the equations so we ended in our younger bodies" you said "Well, that was a mistake from me. I will take the blame" he said "Well, I'm blaming you" you said, a little annoying "I'm sorry" he said before he kissed your nose "Stop that" you said, a little annoying.

"Have I ever tell you that you're adorable when you're mad" he said "Yeah, you have" you said and he smiled before he leaned closer to you again but you pulled away "Nope, not now" you said "Why?" he asked "'Cause I'm still a little pissed at you for screwing this up so we end up in our younger bodies" you said "So, no kiss?" he asked "Nope" you shook your head "But I need a kiss" he said, making his begging face "Well, you should have thought about that before screwing this up" you said before you turned around, walking towards the door.

You and Five entered the living, and you looked around the living room, you think back to when you and your siblings were kids. You remember that when your dad Reginald would occasionally go away for a night for business meetings. You and the others would meet downstairs and use a projector to have a massive movie night. You'd always fight over what to watch and who got to choose, but it was your only chance to feel like normal kids.

"Good to be back" you said "Yeah" Five nodded before yours and his eyes landed on a portrait of the both of you, hanging above the fireplace.

"It seems like dad didn't forget for us" Five said as you both approached the portrait "I think he made it to remind our siblings to not made the same mistake that you did" you said as you looked at Five "And what I did" you said and he looked at you "My mistake was running after you" you said "Do you regret it?" he asked "I wouldn't lie to you that a part of me regret it" you said.   

"I'm sorry, for bringing you into this mess, giving you such a shitty life" he said "It's okay, I don't think I would have gotten it much better here. I would have it worse here without you " you said and he smiled.

"But we had a good life" he looked at you "Yeah our life could have being better but I rather live in an apocalypse with you than growing up in a place like this" you grab his hand "No matter what, I'm glad that I took your hand and I don't regret it" you smiled to each other.

"Are we gonna tell them about what will happen in eight days?" you asked "I think we rather wait, handle the things alone" he said "Yeah, they probably wouldn't believe us, their sister and brother that have being gone for over 16 years return as a married couple and then tells them that the world will end in eight days. They would think we are crazy" you said and he nodded.

Then you heard footsteps behind you and you looked over your shoulder to see Vanya entered the living room.

When you were kids, you and Five would sometimes sit with Vanya as she was practiced the violin, because the two of you found the music comforting. You would read or just sit and listen while you were there.

"Hey Vanny" you smiled as you approached her before hugging her, catching her by surprise "I have missed you" you said "Missed you too" Vanya said as she hugged you.

 "Nice to know Dad didn't forget me and Y/n/n" Five said as he turned to look at Vanya "Read your book, by the way" you said "Found it in a library that was still standing" he said before he then walked around Vanya with his hands in his pockets "We thought it was pretty good, all things considered" he said before stopping behind her causing her to turn around to look at him while he was looking up in the ceiling.

 "Yeah, definitely ballsy, giving up the family secrets" Five said while looking at her before taking some steps closer to her "Writing all of that stuff about Five and I" you said.  

"I guess you have read my book" she said "Yeah. It was kinda shitty for what you did, but what can I do? You already published the damn book" you said "I'm sorry, Y/n. I--" "I forgive you Vanya" you said.

"Sure that went over well" he said "They hate me" she said  "Yeah. I don't think our brothers and sister would forgive you that easily. Especially Diego" you said "But there are worse things that can happen" Five said "You mean like what happened to Ben?" she asked.

"Was it bad?" you asked and she nodded.

Both you and Five tried to hold back your tears from losing a brother.

She then looked at you "Do you hate me, for writing the book?" she asked "A part of me does" you said and she sighed.

"But the other part of me don't hate you, 'cause thanks to that book, both Five and I found out what we have missed while we were gone" you said and she looked at you.

"Hey guys" a voice said and you turned around to see Luther holding the urn which contained Reginald's ashes.

"It's time for the funeral" Luther said as Diego, Allison and Klaus was standing behind him.

"I don't want to go" you said "Why?" Luther asked "'Cause dad was an evil man, I'm actually a bit sad that I was not the one that killed him" you said and Luther glanced angry at you who just looked at him with a raise eyebrow. 

"I hope he died slowly" you said and Luther took a step towards you but then Five got in between the two of you, glancing at Luther with a killer look "Lay a hand on my wife and the next funeral our family will attend, will be yours" he said as stare at him with a threated look.

"Do you really need your knight to defend you?" Luther asked "Nope" you walked u to stand next to Five.

"I can defend myself" you put your hand in front of Five and made him take some steps back which he did.

You then looked at Luther "Don't forget what I can do big guy" you raise a brow.    

"Guys, come on, let's just get this over with" Allison said and the seven of you walked out on the courtyard.
