CHAPTER THREE:  AN APOCALYPSE KISS

FIVE YEARS LATER

"Okay" Five threw some wood on the ground, "Hope this is enough" he said as he put his hands on his hips "This better be enough 'cause there is a snowstorm coming" you said "Don't worry. I think that is enough to keep us warm" Five said.

But it was not enough and the storm was so strong that it almost knock yours and Five's shelter down.

The two of you were sitting up at each other, sharing a blanket while trying to keep each other warm while Delroes was sitting behind you.

The storm turned off the fire you had made "Well, there goes the heat" you said out loud "Can't you use your power and made a bigger one?" Five asked out loud "I could, but I can't when I'm cold or when it's too cold around me" you said "Shit" Five said "Don't worry, it will be over soon" you said.

After a few hours the storm stopped and the two of you walked out of your shelter to see that the storm had almost destroyed your little shelter "Well, it could be worse" you said as you looked at the mess the storm had left behind and Five let out a sigh.

"Well, we can build it up again, right?" you said with sound of positive and hope in your voice.

"Five?" you asked "I can't do this anymore" you looked at him "What do you mean?" you asked "I can't do this anymore. I can't hold it in" he said "What do you mean?" you asked "I can't---" he said as he ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.

"Can't what?" you asked "Just admit it Y/n/n, it's my fault. It's my fault it all. I'm the reason we are stuck here. I'm the reason you don't get to live that life you want" he said as he was panting while breathing heavily.

"Hey Five, it's okay. Just calm down" you said "I CAN'T CALM DOWN. HOW CAN YOU TELL ME TO CALM DOWN WHEN I MESS UP SO BAD. I SHOULD HAVE LISTEN TO DAD AND NOT TIME TRAVEL, BUT I DIDN'T AND NOW WE ARE STUCK HERE AND WHO KNOWS IF WE WILL EVER GET BACK!" he shouted which cause you to flinch a bit.

It was the first time, you had seen Five like that.

"I'm sorry, Y/n/n. I shouldn't have yelled" he said before he sat down "I'm just stressed and frustrated" he said "It's okay. Just breathe in and out" you said and he did what you said.

"That's it" you said as you walked over to him before you sat down next to him "It's my fault. If I haven't time travel and brought you with me, we wouldn't have being stuck here" he said "Don't blame yourself" you said "I do. Because it's my fault we're stuck in this apocalypse" he said before he let out a quiet sob.

"It's okay, Five" you said as you wrapped an arm around him.

"I broke your life" he said "Hey" you put your hand under his chin and turned his head so he was looking at you "I can't handle you beat yourself for that. It's not your fault, okay. We are going get through this and we're going to do this together" you said and he smiled "Thank you for being here with me. I don't know what I would have done if you weren't here with me" he said "I will always be here" you said and you smiled as you stared into each other's eyes.

Five's face light up as he stared into your beautiful gentle Y/e/c eyes.

You were his sun, you are the only one who could turn his dark days into bright again.

You were his hope and happiness. He needs you, you were keeping his sanity and you were giving him strength.

He wanted to be with you and you wanted to be with him. You both want to hold each other's hands to show that you are never leaving each other, 'cause you won't.

You were the person who made him and his heart smile. You were the air that he breath.

You have unfroze his clod heart and you made him feel less broken. You were the first to actually see through him and how he really felt.

You were the only person he ever opened up to. He was so soft deep down. He cared so much and you were the only one who ever saw that side of him, even so he couldn't see it in himself. You made him feel less cold and alone.

It was right there that Five realized that he was in love with you.

Even so he knew that he had those feelings for a long time, but it was first now he realized that this was love.

Your face light up as you stared into Five's beautiful green warm eyes.

Everytime he looked at you with those eyes, you felt the world spinning and you felt a warm feeling through your body.

You didn't see a stubborn irresponsible person, you saw a broken but handsome, kind and soft guy that need to feel loved and that he is enough.

You couldn't explain it, but Five had something, something no one else had.

Five took a deep breath, he wanted to tell you that he have falling in love with you.

"Can I ask you something?" he asked and you nodded "Do you like me?" he asked "Yeah of course I do, you are my best friend" you said "No. Not like that. I mean do you like like me. Like in a romantic way?" he asked as he looked at you to see your eyes was widened.

"I'm sorry Y/n/n. Shit...I....damn...I don't know how to do this. I have ever tried this before" he scratch the back of his neck nervously.

You were stunned by the question and shocked but decided to just say it.

You've been locked in here forever

"I've been hiding this feeling for so long that you might reject it...But you've been that only person that made me conceive this feelings. And these feelings are those things are what I can't explain for you. I didn't need to wait for anything to be happy. Happiness is free. Whenever you're with me, I always feel happiness. You're the source of my happiness. Deep inside I've been thanking you for your concern about my state and I deeply appreciate that, I hope this time is not too late to say that..." he took a deep breath.

"Y/n, I need to tell you something" he said and you looked at him "I...am falling in love with you" he sighed and looked away and you could feel your cheeks heating up and your heart beating faster.

Wrapped in your arms

"You...falling...in...what" you stutter nervously and he smirked. He grabbed your chin and made your eyes look at him.

You've been hiding them in hollowed out pianos
Left in the dark

"Do I make you nervous, Hargreeves?" he asked and you scoffed "As if Hargreeves" you smiled.

"To answer your question. Yes Five. I do like you in that way. So much that I have actually falling in love with you" you said and his whole face light up "Do you?" he asked and you nodded before you both smiled to each other.

"I have being in love with you for so long" you said and he smiled "I have been in love with you for so long too" he said.

He stared at your eyes before moving his gaze to your lips and back to your eyes again "Screw it" he mumbled to himself under his breath before grabbing your collar of your shirt and pressed your lips against his while pulling you closer with both his hands holding on to your collar.

Unable to absorb anything that was happening at the time, your eyes opened in full surprise. Your thoughts were completely blank till they just focused his lips on yours.

But before you could kiss him back, he pulled away "Shit Y/n" he said worried "Damn it, I should've have asked you first, I shouldn't have attack you like that, I'm so sorry---" he looked away but then you grab his chin, turned his head so he looked at you.

"Shut up" you said before you pressed your lips against his.

He let out a smile before he kissed you back without hesitation and without asking any questions.

The two of you smiled at the kiss. You both felt like the missing piece of puzzle was finally placed. You felt peace with each other. It was like two magnets finally connection, it was like a invisible red thread connected the two of you. Tied you together.

The kiss was rough and filled with love that mixed with lust perfectly. It was the type of kiss that made time stand still.

As your lips touch it felt like the world around was blurry out and in slow motion.

Your lips moved together in fiery passion like they were supposed to be together.

The kiss felt warm, safe and wonderful. Like it was right.

It was your first kiss. It was your and Five's first kiss and it was magical and amazing.

You and Five have just turned 18 and you now finally understand what people can mean to each other and what people mean when you say love is the best feelings.

You pulled away to catch your breath "Woah. That was amazing" he said and you let out a giggled.

Sharing all your secrets with each other
Since you were kids

You were both blushing but finally admitted what has been hidden from your hearts. That was it, you finally admitted the truth.

You were happy that you have found someone who sees all of her and love all of those parts. Someone who love every pieces of you, even those parts you struggle to love yourself.

He did it. He kissed you. Finally. Your kiss felt magic. He felt weird turns in his stomach. He had waited for this moment, wished for this was going to happen and it did. Because he fought for her. He didn't gave up.

"Who would have thought that it took an apocalypse for us to kiss" he said and you smiled before your rested your foreheads against each other.

"I really want to be in a relationship with you" he said "Five don't know much in being in a relationship" you said "Either do I" he said before he looked at you.

"Maybe we can help each other find out what it means to be in love with someone" he said and you looked at him "So let's find it out together" he said and you smiled "I'm willing to try if you are" he said.

You wanted to love, you really did. You were just scared. You were scared of the heartbreak and the pain, being hurt.

"I'm willing to give it a chance" you said and he smiled.

"Promise that you would never hurt me or leave me, or break my heart" you said "I promise, never" he said as he slid a piece of your hair behind your ear.

"Do you want to kiss again?" he asked and you chuckled while smiling before nodding.

He smiled before the two of you leaned your faces closer, colliding your lips again.

He was warm and sweet, and his lips were extra soft. You instantly melted into the kiss and relaxed in Five's arms.

He held you close, using one hand to cup your cheek and the other hand to grip your arm. You stayed like that for nearly a minute before pulling away.

You stared into each other's eyes, once again full of love for one another.

"Y/n Hargreeves, will you be my girlfriend?" he asked "Hmm. I have to think about that?" you asked and his eyes widened "What. You're kidding right?" he asked.

You looked at him before you chuckled "I'm kidding" he breath out in relief "Yeah. Five Hargreeves. I would love to be your girlfriend" you said and he smiled.

"So can I kiss my girlfriend to make it official?" he asked and you nodded.

He smiled before you drove in again.

This time, you were both a bit more hungry for the other. His kisses were firmer and his breathing grew heavier. It encouraged him a little bit more to do so when he could. You were panting a little as well. He then pulled your waist closer, and your leg now draped over his and you cupped his face once more.

Neither of you knew why such intensity had come over you at that very moment. Perhaps it was your feelings of desperation to remain together or your need to overcome the sadness that had befallen you, or simply just plain desire that had been locked away for the longest time.

Whatever the cause, you just wanted to keep kissing each other. If you looked back at this moment now, you probably wouldn't call it a make-out. It didn't feel like. It just felt like time had stopped, allowing you to kiss for an infinite number of times, as you embraced each other lovingly without moving or pulling away.

You felt peace. We felt home.

You didn't even pull away when more shooting stars was falling from the sky.

As it went on, you wrapped your arm around Five's neck who tightened his grip on your hips.

Finally you pull away and your breathing was out of sync and you didn't turn to look at the shooting stars. You weren't tired and we thought you could keep kissing for a little while longer. But then you saw the color that reflected in each other's eyes and we both turned to watch the beautiful shooing stars that lit up the night sky.

You would never have imagine that you would have falling for your best friend.

He turned to stare at you again. Your once sad expression turned into a beautiful, wonder-stricken smile. Your eyes practically twinkled under the light of the night sky, and he was in awe how much these eyes have changes in the past few minutes.

You are not like anyone he have ever met. And he felt so lucky that he had you

In this moment you were beautiful. You were always beautiful. But he once again thought of just how much he love this girl.

He would never have imagine that he would be falling for his best friend.

"I have never connected with anyone the way I have with you, when I look into your eyes that's when I feel it. That sudden sense of hope, you make things okay, no one else can do that for me, you're special" he said "I feel the same way but us being together is not going to be easy" you said "I know that being with you is not going to be easy, it's going to be really hard, but I don't care 'cause we're going have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want to be with you. I want all of you, forever, you and me, every day" he said "We will never leave each other's side right?" you asked and he nodded.

"Nothing can keep us apart, huh? We always seems to find our way back to each other, no matter what" he softly chuckled and you smiled "Well, I think it's a sign, that our souls are connected and we are each other's half" you said and he smiled "We are" he said and you smiled to each other before you looked at the shooting stars.

You put your head on his shoulder and he rested his head on top of yours before grabbing your hand as the two of you just stared at the beautiful shooting sky in the night sky.

"I promise you, Y/n/n I will not let anything happen to you and I promise to get us out of here, save our family and stop the apocalypse" he said and you smiled.

"I know, 'cause I believe in you and I will always believe in you" you said and he smiled.

"We must promise ourself that no matter how lost we feel, we must always hold on to hope" you said "We will. I hope you stay around for a long long time, I think I want you in my life forever" he said "I will stay forever by your side, I promise" you said.

"I promise you Y/n/n, that even when we get out of here, I would still be by your side" he said and you smiled "And I promise you the same" you smiled.

"No matter what happens, or whom we must face, I'm on your side. You can count on me. I'll always be with you" you said.

"I'm following you now, I'm just gonna follow you for the rest of my life" he said "And I'm going to follow you too, always and forever" you smiled to each other.

"Not bad for my first kiss" you said "That's was your first kiss?" he asked and you nodded "Mine too" he said as he felt embarrassed by it as he thought you think that it was a bad kiss.

"It was not bad, it was actually amazing" you said and he looked at you "You think?" he asked and you nodded.

"Do you want to kiss again?" he asked and you chuckled while smiling before nodding.

He smiled before the two of you leaned your faces closer, connection your lips again.

Both you and Five was happy, that you were not alone, that you had each other by your side and no matter what the world would throw at you, you and Five will find a way to overcome it as long as you got through the things together.
