CHAPTER TWELVE: DID WE DO IT?

The sound of tires screeching was heard as Five stopped the car in front the Academy.

"Come on! Let's go" Five said as they all got out of the car "I don't think she's breathing" Luther said as he was carrying Allison while Five was carrying you "If we don't get them upstairs, she's gonna die" Klaus said as they all rushed into the Academy.

"We need to hurry, her puls is getting weaker" Five said.

Five was pressing his hands on your cuts "She's suffered a severe laceration to her larynx. One of you will need to give blood" Grace said as she was standing by Allison "I will" the siblings all said, they were all ready to give their blood to save their sister.

Luther pulled up his sleeve "I'm doing it" he said "I'm afraid that's not possible, dear boy. Your blood is more compatible with mine" Pogo said.

"Hey, don't sweat it. I--I got this, big guy" Klaus said before he ran around Luther to stand next to Grace and he put out his arm "I--love needles" he said as he was trapping on his arm.

"Master Klaus. Your blood is...How shall I say this? Too polluted" Pogo said.

"Move" Diego said and walked over to Grace "Yeah, go on" Luther said.

"I'll do it" Diego said and Grace pulled up the needle but as soon as Diego saw it, he made a whimpers noise before he fainted, falling to the floor.

Pogo let out a small smile before he looked at Grace "Stick him" he said.

 "An expert with knives but faints at the sight of a needle. Coward" Five mumbled.

Diego opened his eyes when he felt Grace sticking him "Coward" Five mumbled as Diego sat up, rubbing his head.

After Allison got fix up, Grace moved over to you.

Five then looked down at you "Is she alright?" he asked as Grace went to check on you.

"Y/n has lost quite a lot of blood too" Grace said as they were leaning over you "She lost blood from her left shoulder and arm. One of you might need to give blood" she said "I'm doing it" Five said quickly as he took off his blazer.

He then turned his arm before looking at Grace "Do it" he said and Grace stuck the needle into his arm which cause Five to flinch for a bit as he felt the needle, but all of his pain came from seeing you in this position.   

"I'm so sorry, Love. I'm so sorry I wasn't here for you" he said.

"Done" Grace said "Is she going to be alright?" Five asked "Yeah, she is gonna be fine. Pressing your hands against the wound and wrapping something around her cuts saved her life, but she really need to take it easy" Grace said "When we are done here. Take her to your room so she can rest" Five nodded.

You opened your eyes to see that you were in another room.

You turned your head to see Five with his head rested on his hand as he had his eyes closed "Have you being here all that time?" you asked and Five opened his eyes "You're awake" he said with a smile before he hugged you.

"Ouch" you said "Sorry" he said before he pulled away and you looked down at your stomach "It's not that deep" Five said and you looked back at him "What where you thinking?" he asked "I thought that I could handle it, but then" you looked around.

"Where is Allison?" you looked back at Five "Is she okay?" you asked "She is fine, stable but fine" he said and you breath out in relief "Thank God" you said "Don't worry, we are going to look for Leonard and he is gonna pay for hurting you" Five hissed.

"Leonard didn't do this" Five looked at you.

"Vanya has powers" you said and his eyes widened "What?" he asked "Yeah, she have had powers all this time and Allison knew it all along, at the age of four Allison was force by dad to rumor Vanya into thinking that she have no powers, that she was just ordinary" you said "So all this time" you nodded.

"Did Vanya do this to you?" he asked "Harold stab me in the stomach, but Vanya did the rest" you looked at him to see the rage in his eyes "Please don't be angry at her, she lost control" you said "She hurt you Y/n, her own sister" Five said "She didn't mean to, try be in her shoes. Imanged you have thought your whole life that you were just ordinary, being lock in a sound proof celler. And then one of your siblings knew all along that you had powers, but didn't tell you" you said and he looked at down.

"Don't be angry at her. She lost control and she had just figure out that Allison lied to her and even so we tried to tell her who Leonard really was, she didn't listen, and Allison tried to use her powers on Vanya again, I tried to stop it. Don't be mad at her, it is my fault" you said and he looked back at you.

"I'm alright, okay" you said and he let out a sigh "Okay" he said and you smiled "We can't tell the others, especially not to Luther, he will think that Vanya is dangerous and will probably try to hurt her or lock her in, and that might cause Vanya to explode, killing us" you said.

When you said that something hit Five "Do you think that Leonard will manipulated Vanya into thinking that we are her enemies and therefore he will use her to kill us?" Five asked "I think so. He somehow know that Vanya have powers, how he know, I have no idea" you said "How would he know that Vanya has powers?" Five asked "I have no idea. But he is dangerous, therefore we need to find Vanya before it is too late and Leonard turn her against us" you said.

"You stay in bed Darling. Diego, Klaus and I will look" Five got up "Hell no, Vanya is my sister too. I'm helping" you got up "Y/n" Five said "No Five, I will not sit around while you guys are handling things, I will help" you said "But you need rest" he said "And I will have rest when we are done. If Vanya was cable of hurting Allison and I, she is cable of hurting all of us, especially if Leonard has twisted his way into her head, making her believe that we are the enemy" you said "But--" "No but, come on" you grab your jacket before putting it on as you walked out of the bedroom.

Five let out a sigh and followed after you.

"The bastard that nearly killed our sister is still out there, with Vanya. We need to go after her" Diego said as him, you, Five and Klaus was in the living room.

Klaus was sitting on the couch while you, Five and Diego was standing in front of him.

"Vanya is not important" Five said while you were still limping a bit "Hey, that's your sister. A little heartless even for you, Five" Diego said to him "He is not saying that she don't care about her, but if the apocalypse happens today, she dies along with the other seven billion of us" you said "She is right. Harold Jenkins is our first priority" Five said "But we have a problem and that is Jenkins is with Vanya, therefore we need to find him before he hurt her" you said "I agree. Let's go" Diego said and the three of you got ready to leave "You guys count me out" Klaus said causing you to stop before you turned to look at him.

"I mean, you know, no offense or whatever. It's just...I kind of feel like this is a whole lot of pressure for newly-sober me, so..." he said "You're coming" Diego said "No, no, no" Klaus said "If Y/n can go right after she got shot and got cut in her arm and waist. You can go too. So get up"

"I think we can all agree that my power's....I mean, it's pretty much useless I'd just be holding you guys back" Klaus said "Klaus, get up" Five said "You can't make me" Klaus said and in one quick move Diego pulled up his knife before throwing it towards Klaus and the knife hit the cushions right between Klaus' feet causing him to spread his legs so he wouldn't get hit while he put his hands up quickly.

Klaus let out a sigh "Oh, then again a little exercise couldn't hurt" he said before getting up.

You, Five, Diego and Klaus arrived at Harold's house.

"VANYA!" you called out as you enter the house with Five right behind you.

You all four rushed into the house while you called out to Vanya.

But when you all enter living room, you saw Harold's dead body.

"Well, that is not a pretty sight" you said as you all looked at the dead body that was impaled with knives, scissors and pencils.

"It's not exactly what I was expecting" Klaus said, putting his hands on his knees as you were looking at the dead body.

"No sign of Vanya" you said "Let's get out of here, before the cops come" Diego said before him and Klaus was about to leave but then you spoke up "In a minute" you said before you looked at Five "Five" you said and he looked at you as you pointed on the eye patch.

You and Five walked over to Harold's body before you both bend down and you took out the eye from your pocket while you let out a sigh before you inhale sharply.

Five tore off the eye patch while Diego and Klaus walked back over to the body "Come on, you two. What are you..." Diego said as you put the prosthetic eye into the place where Harold's missing one was "Ugh, wow" Klaus said.

You and Five looked at each other "Same eye color, same pupil size" you said "Guys this is it" Five said, looking back at your brothers before you both looked back at the body "The eye we've been carrying around for decades, it--It's found its right home" you said before Five took the eye out again.

"We got the guy we needed to kill to stop the apocalypse" he said "Yay! Let's go" Klaus said and was about to walk away but Diego grabbed his vest, pulling him back.

"No, no. Wait, wait. It can't be this easy" Five said as you and him got up "Look, this is the note that Five and I got from The Commission" you said before you pulled out the piece of paper as you stood between Klaus and Diego.

The three leaned closer so they could see the note "The one that says 'Protect Harold Jenkins' aka Leonard Peabody" you  pointed on the body "Yeah?" Diego said "But who killed him? Who did this?" Five asked.

"I have a crazy idea. Crazy, but why don't we find Vanya...and ask her what happened?" Klaus asked "I think Vanya was the one that killed him" you mumbled as you looked at Five who nodded.  

"If Vanya got away from this asshole, she might be headed back to the Academy" Diego said and Five took his wife's hand before he blink away.

---

All four of you had been searching the whole Academy for Vanya, but with no luck.

"No sign of Vanya" you said as you met up on the second floor by the stairs.

"She's not in any of the rooms" Diego said "She's not downstairs, either" Klaus said "Then she is not here. But where is she then?" you asked "Well, I'm out" Diego said as he patted Klaus' shoulder before walking towards the stairs "Wait, Wait..." Klaus said.

"Where are you going?" you asked "Vanya's still out there, and so are Hazel and Cha-Cha" Five said "I know, I'm gonna get my things and then I'm outta here. I got some unfinished business with those fools" Diego said before he walked away and Klaus let out a sigh.

"Hey" you and Five said before you turned to look at Klaus "Did Dad say anything about the apocalypse when you spoke to him?" you asked "Any clues as to how it happened?" Five asked "No. No clues. Truly terrific shave. But no clues" Klaus answered and the two of you let out a sigh "Jeez" he said before you walked towards the stairs.

"You know, come to think of it, he did mention something about my potential, and how I've barely even scratched the surface of my--" "How did he know about the apocalypse?" Five asked as you were both walking down the stairs "I don't know, but listen. This whole jumping through time thing of yours, how did...How did you know how to do that?" Klaus asked as you got to the bottom of the stairs.

"I didn't. You'd realize that if you were actually sober" Five said before you and him walked past Klaus and towards the living room.

"Hey, I am sober" Klaus said, turning around "I've been sober for two--almost two days now" he said and the couple turned around to face him.

"Yeah, two days" he said "It feels like 45 years" Klaus said "Who are you kidding, Klaus? I've seen you fidgeting all day" Five said and Klaus turned to the couple before he took a couple of steps towards you and Five "Well, I guess we're both fighting our addictions, then" he said "We are not an addict" you and Five said "Yeah, you are. You two are addicted to a drug called the apocalypse" Klaus said "You're wrong" you both said "First sign. Denial" Klaus said and turned away from you and Five.

But Five blinked in front of him "We're not the same and don't ever call my wife an addict 'cause she is not" he said through his gritted teeth while he had his finger pointed at him and Klaus chuckled "I've seen that look in the eye of someone who doesn't know who they are without their high anymore" he said and Five put his hand down "Trust me" Klaus said as he put his hands close to his chest "You gotta just let it go" he said and Five threw the prosthetic eye against the wall causing it to shattered into pieces.

"Figuratively, but yeah, that works, too" Klaus said before he sighed "One day at a time" he said before walking away.

---

"Alright" you said as Five began making a margarita causing the sound of a blender whirs to be heard as he began making a margarita while jazz music was playing as the two of you was sitting on the counter by the bar in the Academy's living room.

"Well, do you think we really did it?" you asked as you handed a glass with margarita to Five "Think we actually stopped the apocalypse?" you asked as you were sitting next to each other.

"I think we did. Well, I hope we did" he said "Now what?" you turned to look forward "I don't know" Five chuckled "I'm open to suggestions" he said.

"We'll find something. but for now...we could, you know, start living a normal life" you said "You mean stuff like getting a job, buying a house? Attending family experiences" he said "It kinda sounds nice" you nodded.   

"I think we should look for Vanya" you said "And we will, she will come to us when she is ready" Five said "But what if she think that she killed Allison and me. What if she is running around scared and all alone" you said as you were freaking out a bit.

You were worried about your sister.

"Hey" Five put his hand on top of yours "We will find her, okay. I know that you are worried. But it is over now" he said "But Vanya is scared, and I think she is the one that killed Harold. She is alone and scared" you said "And she is probably heading right back to the Academy" he said "But Vanya's powers are strong and she need help in controlling them" you looked at Five "Luther wouldn't understand. He will find out that Vanya was the one that hurt Allison and therefore he might hurt Vanya. I can't let that happen. We need to help her in controlling her powers, so please Five, please help me help our sister. She needs us Five" you said "I know and I will help her, don't worry. I'm on your side, because Vanya is our sister and I still remember how close the three of us were, so of course I will defend her" he said and you smiled.

Then it knocked on the door "I'll get it" Five said before he grabbed his margarita and walked over to the main door.

Five put his hand on the door handle and he opened it to reveal Hazel on the other side with a gun pointed at him and Five let out a sigh.

"Hey, old-timer" Hazel said "Do you have my sister?" Five asked calm as he was holding his margarita "And...if not, would you like a margarita?" he asked and a confused look appeared on Hazel's face "Come on" Five said before turning around, walking back into the living room, leaving the door opened.

Your eyes widened when you saw Hazel walking into the living room causing you to jump down from your seat before putting yourself in a fighting position.

"What is he doing here?" you asked "Calm down Love, he is not a treat" Five said to you and you calmed down a bit before you sat back down on the counter "You're here to kill us?" you asked as Five sat back down on the counter.

Hazel furrowed his brows before he realized that he still had the gun in his hand "Oh. Shit. Sorry. Old habits" Hazel said as he put away the gun.

"Well, I can understand why you two might feel that way, you know" he said.

"Well, You attacked our house, tried to kill our family" you started "Shot my wife and kidnapped our brother" Five said "Well, there's not much I can do about the past. Don't forget I'm not the only killer in this room. You two got your own bloody history" Hazel said as he was looking at both you and Five "Speaking of which, that job you two did in Calhoun, that shit's legendary. Can't believe I'm actually standing here talking to you two, after all--" "Hazel, why are you here?" Five asked, cutting Hazel off.

"Well, I'm, you know--" but Hazel was cut off when Diego ran into the room and kicked Hazel in the back sending him falling forwards onto the floor with a grunt.

"Diego, stop!" Five said as Diego jumped over Hazel "Get up" he said to him and Hazel put his hands under himself. But as soon as he was on his hands and knees, Diego swung a kick at his face causing Hazel to let out a groan as his body jerking backwards.

"Come on Diego, let him talk" you said but Diego swung another kick to at his face "You know, before you kill him, you might wanna hear what he has to say--" Five said as Hazel punched Diego in the stomach, causing him to fall backwards.

Hazel stood up just as Diego got up too before he pulled out a knife "I'm gonna kill you for what you did to Patch" he said.

Hazel turned to you and Five and put his hand out, trying to say something, but Diego lunged forward, swinging his knife at Hazel causing him to jumped back, to not get hit.

"Or don't. See how that goes" you said as you and Five leaned back in your chair while watching the two fighting.

"Are we gonna help them?" you asked "In a minute 'cause this is so funny" Five said with a chuckled.

"Are you gonna--" Hazel said as he jumped backwards again before he grabbed a hold on Diego's arm as he swung at him again "Come on" Hazel said while you and Five sighed before continuing to sip on their drink as you were watching the fighting.

Diego threw the knife in the air, before grabbing it and swung it at Hazel, stabbing him in the leg causing Hazel to let out a scream making you and Five to inhales sharply "That's gotta hurt" you both said as Hazel punched Diego in the face causing him to stumble backwards.

"Now?" you asked "Soon" Five said.

Hazel then took the knife out of his leg with a groan and Diego let out a yell as he jumped forwards, punching Hazel in the face making him drop the knife to the floor.

Five let out a sigh as Diego kicked and punched Hazel a couple of times.

Hazel grabbed Diego and lifted him up before he squeezed him. Diego opened his mouth and leaned forwards before biting Hazel's ear, causing Hazel to let out a yell.

"Now?" you asked "Now" Five put down his margarita down by the counter and he blinked before he appeared behind Diego, on a couch holding a glass vase before he hit Diego's head with it, knocking him out causing him to fall to the floor.

"We draw the line at biting" Five said as he jump down from the couch. 

"Hazel, whatever you came here to say, I suggest you make it quick, before he comes around" you said as Five walked over and sat down next to you again.

"I left my partner, quit the Commission, came for volunteer" Hazel said "For what?" Five asked "To help stop the apocalypse" Hazel said and  the two of you chuckled as you took a sip of your drink.

"What on earth could be so funny to you two right now?" Hazel asked "Before we answer that, why do you wanna help us?" Five asked.

"Let's just say I have a vested interest in a doughnut shop" Hazel answered "Well, we hate to break it to you, pal, but you're a day late and a dollar short" you said "The fact that you're here right now means, without a shadow of a doubt, that the apocalypse is over" Five said "Really? How do you know?" Hazel asked "The mark is dead. Found him this morning" you said " You were the last known unknown left in the equation" Five said and Hazel let out a chuckled "Shit. Really?" he asked and the couple nodded "Mm-hmm. And if you're out, then Hellrider ain't riding" Five said, putting his glass down on the counter.

"Oh" Hazel said and breath deeply "All right" he said before he sat down next to you, grabbing the blender and took a sip of the margarita.

"So now what?" Hazel asked the two "You know, to be honest, we don't know" you said "We've been chasing this thing for so long, we...we never really thought about the day after" Five said, looking at Hazel before he let out a chuckled "I don't know" he said.

"What about you?" you asked as you looked back at Hazel "I'm done with all this madness. Time to start over. You should do the same" he said "That's easier said than done" Five said "Yeah" you said. 

"It doesn't have to be hard. I mean, think about it like this. If you never time traveled, if you two never got caught up with the Handler, what would have happened?" Hazel asked and you and Five took a quick look at Diego that was still passed out on the floor.

You both then looked back at Hazel. "We guess we would have grown up to be an emotionally stunted man-child like everybody else around here" Five said while you nodded said and Hazel chuckled softly.

"Well, there you go. Now you two can grow up. Good luck" Hazel said before getting up.

"Hazel" Five said, turning around to look at him "One more thing before you go" he said "Shoot" Hazel said "Which one of you was the trigger man for Detective Patch?" you asked "Trigger woman" Hazel said and the two of you let out a sigh "Huh. That's too bad. That gun could have cleared our brother's name" Five said and Hazel grabbed two pistols out of the back of his jacket "Well, today's your lucky day, amigo" he said, showing the two pistols before putting them on the counter "Take 'em both" he said and sighed "I'm done with this life" he said "Bye Hazel" you said "Bye, hope you two will continue to have a wonderful life together" Hazel said "Thanks" Five said "Take care" Hazel said before leaving. 

Then Diego let out a groan as he regained consciousness, he grunted as he lifted his head up from the floor "Shit" he said with a sigh, putting his hand on the back of his head as he looked at you and Five sitting by the bar counter.

"Good, you're up" you said as you glanced at Diego "Did you sleep well?" you asked "Ready for a drink now?" Five asked and Diego's eyes widened before he jumped onto his feet, looking around, trying to spot Hazel "Where is he?" he asked "We let him go" you and Five said "You what?" Diego asked, taking some steps towards you both.

"Now that the apocalypse is over, it's time for the fighting to stop" you said but Diego bent down, grabbing his knife off the floor "Hey, he didn't kill Patch. His partner Cha-Cha did" Five said "So what? They were both there that night" Diego said "This half of the partnership gave us both of their guns. Which will clear you, because the ballistics will match Patch's crime scene" you said "Hazel came here for a way out. He wanted a fresh start. And he happened to have in his possession the one thing that could do our family a little good. So it's time to move on" Five said "Not a chance" Diego said "Suit yourself" Five said.

"I am curious. Your girlfriend, Patch. What did you like about her?" you asked "A lot of things. Cute butt. Nice legs" Diego answered "Anything a little more profound than that?" Five asked "She believe in people. No matter how much shit and filth she saw on the streets. She always saw the good inside" Diego said "Well, I'm sure she'll be proud to know that you're killing Hazel and Cha-Cha as a way to honor her memory" Five said and Diego scoff before leaving.

Five then looked at you "Come on" he grabbed your hand "Where are we going?" you asked "I have surprise for you" he said before he blink you both away.

---

Five blinked you both to the Academy's rooftop

"Now you can open them" he remove his hand from your eyes and your eyes widened when you saw a blanket, with two bottles of water, strawberries dipped in chocolate and a pizza.

And in front of you were the sunset. "I know how much you love the sunset" he smiled.  

"Wow" you smiled "See this as a way of celebration that we have stopped the apocalypse" he said. 

"Five this is amazing" you looked at him "Just like the day I propose" he said and you nodded with a smile. 

"Shall we?" he asked and you nodded before you both walked over to the blanket.  

---

"Do you want the last strawberry?" he asked and you looked at the strawberry "No, you can have it" you said and he picked up the strawberry "This may be the best strawberry in the world, but you will never know, because you didn't tasted it" stretched the strawberry towards you, you took a bite and pulled back "You were right" you said, he smiled and took the last bite of the strawberry.

You light me up
You set the sun
You bring the crowd down to one

"I gotta say Fivey, this is a beautiful spot" you said "I knew that you would love it, beside this place also remind me of when we were kids and we were looking at the stars together up here" he said and you looked at each other with a smile before watching the sunset.

"We are a unsual couple" Five said interrupting the silence "What?" you looked at him "Just a thought. This is isn't easy for me to say love, and I...I want you to know that I cherish every single minute I ever shared with you, all and a half million of them, as friends and as a couple, it's lifetime. Now look at us. We're lucky enugh we get another lifetime together" he said "Yeah" you nodded.  

"Thank you for showing me this. It's beautiful" you said "You're right, really beautiful" Five looked at you.

I dream of you in the morning

You then spotted something next to the blanket "What is that?" you pointed at it "That is a sky lantern. I think we should set it up in the sky together" he said, and handed you a pencil "Write something on it" he said "Like what?" you asked "I have heard that if you write a wish you want to happen on the sky lantern and sent it up in the sky, it will be fulfilled" he said. You took the pencil and wrote something down on the sky Lantern.

Five looked at the sky Lantern and saw you have writing his and yours initials

So good to feel this way

"That has already happen" he said "Yeah, I know, but I couldn't think of anything I want other than this" you said and he looked at you "And I don't want it to end, so that is a wish" she said and he smiled "It wouldn't end. I wouldn't let that happen" he said "Me either" you said.

My big debut, My curtain call

You then both stood up before you lit on the sky Lantern, then you lifted the lantern higher up before you let go and watched it as it flew up in the night sky.

The world is covered in beauty
And through the cracks in the wall
I see your light behind it all

"Nothing feel right when you're not here with me. With you I see a future. I promise you that I will always be here for you when you need me and even when you don't. Your happiness and safety has always being my first priority, and nothing will change that" he said and you smiled.

So good to feel this way
Can't find the words to say

I've waited for this moment now

"I really don't deserve you. I can believe that you chose to stick around this long with me" he said and you hummed and pretended to think "Well. I have considered it. But nah, I think I'm gonna keep you" you said and you both chuckled.

There's nothing I'd rather do
Than be here right with you

"I don't deserve you. I will only keep your best interest at heart. And I swear to you. I will only make sure you are nothing but happy" he said "You better keep that promise Hargreeves. You know I'm the happiest when I'm with you" you said "I'm the happiest when I'm with you too" he said and you smiled.

This moment, this moment, this moment now.

Five then grab your hand and you both power up causing Five's fists to glow blue and yours to glow a little bit bright green, and together your hands held onto each other, color dousing the area around you, reflecting off each other, spilling the walls, the ground and the bricks with bright green and blue. You looked up the majesty of your powers together.

Mental manipulation and teleportation.

He held out your hand, examining your powers which contrasted his own, yours more soft and elegant than this chaos and disorganization.

Together your powers' color created some small light that looks like the northern light. It was beautiful. 

And in that moment, all doubts, fears and insecurities were washed away. In that moment, you and Five knew this love would be hard to break.

Five then pressed his lips against yours. 

You wrapped your arms around his neck as you suck deeper into the kids.

So good to feel this way

While your lips were connected, you jumped up before you wrapped your legs around his waistline.

Five then lowered you to the blanket as his lower parts were pressed against yours.

His hands moved to your shirt before he slowly started pulling it down.

Both your hands went to your belts and you slowly started to undue them. 

This was taking you both back to all those time you and Five was doing it under the apocalypse sky.

But then suddenly the sound of an explosion was heard before the whole place started shaking which cause you and Five pull away.
