CHAPTER FIFTEEN: THE HANDLER

Flashback start...

"Five?" you asked as you were looking for Five, because you have not seeing him for some time and the last time you saw him, he seeing upset.

You then found him in his room.

He was sitting on the floor, hugging his knees close to hist chest as he was staring at the window with his bottom lip pouted out.

You enter the room before you sat down next to you Five, are you okay?" you asked "Everyone has names....well, you know, expect for me" he said "You have a name" you said "A number isn't a name, Y/n" he said before he sighed as he leaned his chin on top of his knees.

"You all forgot what name that Mom gave me...and unfortunately, I also forgot it. Now I'll just be called by number" he said.

You frowned and looked down at your feet. You didn't want Five to feel left out. You don't want your best friend to feel left out.

"But it's fine. I didn't want to participate in that anyway. It's stupid. The name she have me was probably stupid. Beside I don't care that I'm not perfect in dad's eyes. I know I have great powers" he said.

"How about you call me by my number?" you asked and Five raised his head up before looking at you "Why would I do that?" he asked.

"So you won't feel left out. We'll get to call each other by our numbers" you said "But Y/n is your real name" he said and you looked at him "I don't mind you calling me that" you said "This is a dumb idea. What if I wanna call you Y/n?" he asked "Then call me by that name whenever you feel like it" you said.

"I don't want you to call you that" he said "Why?" you asked "'Cause Y/n is your name and it's a beautiful name" he said "Then what shall I call you?" you asked "I like Five" he said "I think I can come up with some nicknames. Let me think" you said as you thought for a moment.

"I have it. Coffee boy. Fivey. Short Pants. Jumpy guy. Pretty boy" you said and he chuckled "No, not any of them" he said "Well deal with it, 'cause that's the nicknames I will call you from now on" you said and he rolled his eyes.

He wouldn't admit it but he liked those names.

"You really didn't have to do this" he said "I don't like you feeling let out" you said before you let go of his hand "If you feel left out, then I'll be with you. Let's feel left out together" you said "When I'm with you, I never feel left out" he said and you smiled "But you wouldn't mind if I call you both?" he asked "No, not at all" you said and he smiled "What would I do without someone like you in my life" he said " You will always have me" you said and you smiled to each other.

Flashback ends...

You were sitting in the backseat while Luther and Five was sitting in the front seat as Luther stopped the car at the place where you were going to be meeting Hazel and Cha-Cha.

Both you and Five took off our seatbelts and you both looked around as silence filled the car.

You let out a sigh before you looked down at the leather bracelet that Five has giving you.

"You know, we never enjoyed it" Five suddenly said "What?" Luther asked as he turned to him "The killing" you said before you turned to look forwards "I mean, we were...we were good at our work, and we...we took pride in it" you said "But it never gave us pleasure" Five finished.

He then looked back forwards again "I think it was all those years alone" Five said "Solitude can do funny things to the mind" you said "Yeah, well, you two were gone for such a long time. I only spent four years on the moon, but that was more than enough" Luther said.

"Yeah, that's the same as being stuck in the apocalypse for 45 years" you mumbled.

"It's being alone that breaks you" Luther said  "Well, Y/n and I wasn't alone, we had each other" Five said "Right" Luther nodded before he looked down at the briefcase "You think they'll buy it?" he asked before he started messing with the briefcase on the center console.

"Well, what we do know is that they're desperate" you said "It's like a cop losing his gun. If The Commission finds out, they'll be in deep shit" Five said "Oh, not to mention the fact that they'll be stuck here until they get it back" you said "Well, I should hold onto it" Luther said "Hm" Five said "In case they make a move on you both" Luther said "Okay, Luther, but be careful. I mean, I've...Y/n and I have lived a long life, but...you're still a young man. You got your whole life ahead of you. Don't waste it" Five said and Luther looked confused at him.

"It means that you need to be careful" you said.

Then the three of you heard a car approaching and you looked forward to see a car driving towards them "Here we go" Five said as you saw a car come driving down the hilled road.

The sound of car doors opened was heard and the three of you look over at Hazel and Cha-Cha getting out of the car.

You and Five glanced started walking towards the two.

Both Hazel and Cha-Cha was wearing their mask as they walked up to you.

"The masks really necessary?" Five asked them as you both met them in middel and Hazel and Cha-Cha took off their mask before throwing them to the side.

"So where is it, kids?" Cha-Cha asked "Wow, that's how you're gonna start" you said "You know, we can get right back in our car and call it a day" Five said as he glanced back at Luther and the car before looking back at Hazel and Cha-Cha.

"You two wouldn't even make it halfway there" Cha-Cha said as she pulled out a gun but you and Five remain calm.

"And I will control those bullets right back in your guys' faces" you said "Easy Love, no need to start a fight" Five said before he looked back at Hazel and Cha-Cha

"Maybe. But as I'm sure you found out in your previous foray, my brother is not your average giant" Five said "He's right. You dropped a chandelier on him, got right back up" Hazel said "By the time you took him out, he'd smash your precious briefcase to a pulp" Five said "Probably us too, right? So, how do we help each other?" Hazel asked "We need you to get in contact with your superior so we can have a chat with her face-to-face" Five said "About what?" Cha-Cha asked "Well, I don't believe that's any of your concern" you said.

"Just don't tell her about the briefcase" Cha-Cha said "Fair enough" Five said and Cha-Cha lowered her gun before her and Hazel turned around while you and Five turned around, walking over to Luther.

"What happens now?" Luther asked "Now we wait" Five said.

But suddenly you heard a ice-cream truck chimes playing 'Ride of the Walkyries'

"What is that?" you asked as you looked around before you three turned around to see a ice-cream truck came driving towards you while you all looked confused at the ice-cream truck.

"Is that her?" Luther asked, looking at you and Five, and as the truck drove passed you three, you saw Klaus in the driver seat with Diego next to him. Klaus waved with a smile at you, Luther and Five as he drove past you. Luther gave him a small wave with a confused look while you and Five just look confused.

"What the...." you said.

"What the hell is he doing here?" Five asked "Go faster" Diego said who was sitting next to Klaus "Whee!" Ben said.

"It's a setup!" Cha-Cha said as her and Hazel pulled up their guns before they started shooting at the ice cream truck and you, Five and Luther.

Five quickly grabbed your wrist before he pulled you behind him to protect you while Luther got in front of Five to protect both you and Five.

The truck hit Cha-Cha and Hazel causing them to fall back making them let out a groaned before everything slowed down until it all stopped.

You and Five furrowed your brows, bending down to look under Luther's arm.

You both saw Hazel and Cha-Cha were suspended in mid-air, Luther didn't move a bit.

You and Five dodged under Luther's arm before you walked in front of him while looking forwards as Hazel and Cha-Cha was still in mid-air and we looked at Luther who still wasn't moving.

"Okay, what just happen?" you asked "I don't know" Five replied as you both walked into the middle of the scene.

"Neat trick, isn't it?" a voice asked and you both turned to the right to see The Handler with a briecase in her left hand.

You both let out a sigh before Five put his hands in his pockets as you walked over to her before you both stopped when you were few feet in front of the woman that recruited you.

The Handler lifted the lace out of her face and onto her small hat, before taking of her sunglasses.

"Hello, Five and Y/n. You two look good all things considered" she said "It's good to see you again" you said sarcastically.

Five really hate The Handler and he knew that you hated her even more.

"Feels like we met just yesterday. Course, you two were a little bit older then. Congratulations on the age regression, by the way. Very clever. Threw us all off the scent" The Handler said "Ah, well, I wish I could take credit. I just miscalculated the time dilation projections, and...Well, you know. Here we are" Five said before taking his hands out of his pockets and lifted his arms out to the side before lowering them again "Yeah and I'm still angry at you cause of that" you said as you gave your husband a quick glanced.

"You realize your efforts are futile" she said before putting her briefcase behind her back "So why don't you tell me what you really want?" she asked and you scoffs "Really, woman? What do you think we've been trying to do the pas--" "We want you to put a stop to it" Five said, cutting you off as he put his hands behind his back.

"You realize what you two are asking for is next impossible, even for me. What's meant to be is meant to be. That's our raison d'étre" she said.

You and Five share a look before nodding and you put your hands to your waists, grabbing out a pistol each before bringing it up, aiming the pistols at her.

"Yeah? Well how about survival as raison?" you asked "I'll just be replaced. I'm but a...small cog in a machine" she said before she took a few steps towards the two of you "This fantasy you two have been nurturing about summoning up your family to stop the apocalypse...is just that. A fantasy. I must say, though, we're all quite impressed with your initiative, your...stick-to-itiveness, really quite...quite something. Which is why we want to offer you two a new position back at the Commission, in management" she said and you and Five chuckled.

"Sorry. What was that now?" Five asked as you both still had the guns pointed at her "Come back to work for us again. You two know it's where you belong" she said as she took another step towards the two of you.

"Well, it didn't work out too well the last time" Five said "But you two wouldn't be in the correction division any longer. I'm talking about...the home office. You'd have the best health and pension, and an end to this ceaseless travel. You're a distinguished professional in..." she said before looking down at Five's shorts "...schoolboy shorts. We have technology to reverse the process. I mean, you...you two can't be happy like this" she said as she put her hands on your guns before lowering them.

You and Five looked at each other before looking back at her "We've already found our happiness" Five said and you said "We have" you nodded.

"Is that so?" she asked as she slid her hand down Five's cheek causing the anger in you to boil.

"We can make that happen. We can make you two...yourself again" she said and Five sighed.

"And what about our family?" you asked "What about them?" she asked "We want them to survive" he said and The Handler sighed as she looked around, her eyes looked at Luther before she looked at Klaus and Diego "All of them?" she asked looking back at you and Five "Yes, all of them" you both said and she grabbed her sunglasses from her pocket "Well" she said before she put them on "I'll see what I can do" she said before she stretched her arm out ready for Five to shake her hand "Do we have a deal?" she asked.

"One thing" Five said as you both put the guns back by your waist.

You and Five then looked at each other before nodding and you walked over to Hazel and Cha-Cha and lifted up the gun that was laying on the ground. You took out its cartridge and threw away the cartridge to the right before you throw the empty gun to the left and The Handler checked her watch as Five walked the other way towards the bullet that was in mid-air and moved it out of the way so it would miss Luther.

You and Five then walked back to the Handler who put her hand out again for Five to shake. Five looked at you who nodded before he took your hand and Five shook The Handler's hand before the three of you blinked away with a whoosh and a zaps.

Flashback start...

You were walking behind Five as you were walking through the apocalypse, it has being two years since you kissed for the first time and it like everything have just being better.

You smiled as you ran towards Five before jumping up on his back, your arms wrapped around his throat.

"Hey" Five said with a smile as he felt you on his back "Little Spidermonkey" he said as he put his arms under your legs so you wouldn't fall off.

You both smiled as you were riding on Five's back while he just kept walking. You must admit that every since you kissed, he have being more caring, more protective, more loving and so have you.

After walking for a few minutes you jumped down from his back and he turned around before putting your face in his hands "You are happy today" he said "I'm just glad that I have you" you said "I'm too, and I'm so glad that I have you" he said before he pressed his lips against yours.

You smiled as you wrapped your hands around his neck while sinking deeper into the kiss.

You never thought I would have falling for a guy like Five Hargreeves, but sometimes we fall in love with the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time.

You hope you get back home 'cause you want to live a normal none-apocalypse life with Five.

He is the one for you. He is the one you're meant to get married to, maybe have kids with, grow old with, spend the rest of my life with.

Five Hargreeves is the one and nothing will ever changed that.

Two years later

You and Five was dancing together under the apocalypse sky for the first time as husband and wife.

Five puts his hands on your hips and you threw your arms around his neck.

"You are my one and only, Five" you said "That's good, 'cause I'm the only one there is" he said with a smile and you both chuckled.

He caught your hand when you dropped them to his chest and he stepped to your side as he spun you around.

We won't abide by any rules

He pulled me closer so your faces was inches apart.

I don't say a word
But still, you take my breath and steal the things I know
There you go, saving me from out of the cold

"I wish people were here to see us get married" you said "I wish that too. But in the end we have each other and that's a least one thing worth living for" he said and you nodded.

"You're such a bright light in my life. I want this and you forever in my life" he said "I want you in my life forever too. And we both will. We will never leave each other, or will anything get between us" you said and he nodded with a smile.

"Promise me that no matter what happens we will always be there for each other and you will never leave me" he said "I promise, if you also promise to never leave me" I said "I promise. Never" he said "Nothing will get between us" I said "Nothing" he said "It's you and me now, always and forever, us against time" you said "I love that, let's that be our motto for each other" he said.

You pulled away and Five lifted his left hand while you lifted your right hand causing your fingers to locked together.

"What would you have done if I had said no?" you asked "I would have being embarrassed and sad and then all of this would have in vain" he said "Would you have run away?" you asked "No, never. No matter what your answer have been, no matter what you have said or done, I would never have run away, you could never say or do anything that can scare me away. I would have stayed by your side, I still will, no matter what" he said and you smiled before the two of you leaned closer, resting your foreheads against each other "I love you, always and forever" you said "I love you, always and forever" he said before you connected your lips again just as some shooting stars was falling through the night sky.

You and Five love each other more than anything and you forever will and nothing will ever change that.  You were the one for each other.
