That day has pass and it was the night sky that appear with the moon shining. It looked so pretty. Shadow remain in his home trying to fix up G.U.N's guns.
"Putting these guns together is more difficult than I thought." He said to himself. "And I thought G.U.N could learn how to work on the instructions."
Since Shadow is part of G.U.N, he was in charge of the guns. He needed to learn how to put them together and it was hard. He kept thinking of how he could shoot Sonic with one of the guns but he was just playing. He wasn't exactly a murder and doesn't plan to be one. He kinda felt embarrassed that e bursted into Sonic's home and tried to attack him thinking he took his ring. At least he apologize and plans to give Knuckles and beat up.
He looked at his couch and kept looking at the rental paper his landowner sent him. It's basically a warning. If he didn't pay his rent soon, he's going to get kicked out of his home. Shadow wasn't sure what he was gonna do if he does get kicked out. He didn't want to be on the street and become a gangster.
Suddenly, his phone rang.
RIING!! RIING!
He groaned very annoyed. And he felt even more annoyed when he looked at who was calling. It was Rouge.
"The last thing I need is her calling me." He said to himself.
Then he answered the phone and put it up to his ear. "Hello?"
"Hey there Shads." She said in a welcome tone.
"What do you want? I'm in the middle of fixing G.U.N's guns."
"Ha! I knew you hire to do so. Omega owes me ten bucks." Rouge laughed. "But you might wanna come to the hospital for a moment."
Shadow began to wonder if Rouge had gotten hurt. Hospital is never good. "Why? Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. But Sonic surely isn't."
Now he was totally confused. "So why do I need to come to the hospital?"
"Come over and find out. See you soon." Then she hung up.
Shadow was annoyed enough. But he knew that if he didn't go over, Rouge would annoy him so much more by telling him not for coming on over.
"Can't wait to see what happen to the faker." He said as he went to get his jacket on and head on out.

At the hospital...

Shadow walked in see everyone in their seats. Some people were either sick or injured and were waiting for doctors. But he mostly spotted his friends in their chairs waiting. Tails was there. So was Knuckles, Rouge, Cream, Cheese, Silver, and of course, Amy Rose.
Rouge spotted him and patted the seat that was next to her for him to sit in. He sighed and walked to the bat and sat down, bored.
"Glad you came Shadow." Rouge said.
"Yeah. So what happen to the moron?" He asked.
"I don't know. He got into some kind of an accident. All I know is that he's injured badly."
"I sure hope mister Sonic is alright." Cream said worried.
"Don't worry Cream." Tails said. "Sonic is very tough and can get through anything that hurts him."
"Yep. That's cause he's our hero." Amy said.
"Especially your's Amy." Cream mention which made Amy giggle.
"I just feel like it's my fault." Knuckles said. "I mean I left his house a few moments before the accident. I think I might be cursed."
"Nah. If you were cursed than you would have killed Sonic instead." Silver said.
"Touché."
"Friends of Sonic the Hedgehog?" A nurse called out while looking at her clipboard.
Everyone stood up on their frets and looked at her. They hope there was se good news to be made. Shadow could care less about what happen.
"Is he okay?" Tails asked.
"Yes. He is fine. He kinda has a broken arm due to the accident." She said.
Shadow almost bursted out laughing but tried to hold it back. Everyone just looked at him and he did his best to calm himself.
"And he has a few bruises and a lot of spots that are bleeding bad but he should be alright." The nursed continued.
"Well that's good to hear." Silver said.
"Yep. Now my Sonic is still alive!" Amy cheered.
Shadow was always so annoyed with Amy's voice and how she adored Sonic with a passion. If only there was a way to tape her mouth so she wouldn't have to speak again.
"May we go see Sonic?" Rouge asked.
"Most certainly. Come this way." The nurse then lead the friends to their blue one.
Shadow was following but Silver walked next to him and asked "Why were you laughing a minute ago?"
"I can imagine Sonic breaking his arm. That's awesome!" Shadow smiled.
"That's not funny. He's injured man."
"So? It's better than his annoying chili dogs and all."
Silver only sighed and decided to let Shadow to continue being a jerk. At least he cared for his friend.
They all finally reached the room Sonic was in. They found him on a white bed with a blanket covering him. His broken arm was covered with bandages and he had a bruises on him and some cuts. He did not look so well.
He looked up to see his friends at the door. He smiled and said "Hey guys."
"Sonic!" Amy ran towards the be he lay and hugged him so tightly, he almost lost all his breath. "Thank goodness you're alright!"
"H-Hey Amy." He said out of breath. "Thanks for the death hug."
"Are you alright mister Sonic?" Cream asked.
"How you feeling?" Tails asked.
"I could be better." Sonic said. "I'm just glad I'm alive."
"What happen to you?" Knuckles asked.
"Man you guys ask so many questions." He joked. "Well..."

(A few hours ago...)

Sonic looked annoyed and facepalm himself. "So much for a good meal. Now I gotta clean it up."
Then he began to clean.
He grabbed some windex and paper towels and began to wipe and scrub on the kitchen floor. Spraying the windex was helping. On the bright side e was getting a cleaner floor.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
He looked puzzled. "Who would that be?"
He stood up and walked to his front door. He twisted the knob and open the door. But no one was there. Now he was totally confuse.
"What the-"
But he then he looked down and saw fire right in front of his porch. He gasped and kick the fire and stomp on it to make it go away. Eventually the fire left but his shoes were dirty. Turns out he discovered it was poop that was on fire.
He looked at his feet disgusted and wanted to vomit from the nasty smell. Then he heard the laughter of children and saw three boys behind a bush. One was a dog, a cat, and a mouse.
"Na na na na na!" The dog shook his butt in the air of Sonic's house.
"We think you a stinker!" The cat laughed.
Sonic growled and had his anger boiled on his blood. "You little shits! Get back here!"
He started to run but then he stepped in the burn poop and began to slide down his concrete of the house. The three boys gasped and began to run away before he was close to them. He kept falling until he hit the street.
He lifted himself up and rubbed his head. "Oww... Some kind of fun that was."
Then suddenly, a truck started driving up towards him and once he turned around, everything went black.

(Back to the hospital...)

"Was it those annoying kids again?" Rouge asked.
"Unfortunately, yes. Yes it was them." Sonic said feeling a bit embarrassed.
Shadow did his best to hold in his laughter. But Knuckles surely didn't hold his. He bursted out laughing. He almost had tears in his eyes.
"Really Knuckles?" Tails looked at his red friend with an unhappy look.
"What? Those kids are getting better and better!" Knuckles laughed. "It's just so funny!"
"Knuckles, it is not funny when Sonic is injured!" Amy said getting a bit aggravated to the echidna.
"That's true. But it's funny when a bunch of kids get him into the hospital for once!" Knuckles was just on a riot.
"Only Knuckles can be such a meanie." Sonic said not feeling insulted by his friend.
"I can think of two more." Silver said looking back at Shadow.
Shadow just remain silent. He still tried not to laugh with Knuckles.
"So you think you're gonna be alright staying here big blue?" Rouge asked.
"Yeah. The doctor says I'm gonna be here a whole week so I'll be fine."
"Well that's good." Tails said. "Just better pray Eggman won't try anything while you're in here."
"Well we all know Shadow can stop him. Right Shadow?" Sonic smiled.
Shadow just looked away annoyed.
"Alright everyone," the nurse said. "I hate to be the breaking of friendship and family but Sonic must rest so I'm gonna need you all to head home."
They were lucky to understand. Amy gave Sonic a kiss on the cheek and hugged him one last time. Knuckles walked out of the hospital room still laughing and Tails just ignored him.
Shadow was the last one to head out but an arm stopped him.
"Hey Shadow?"
"What do you want Amy?" He said.
"I was wondering if maybe you could do me a favor?"
"Look if you want me to help you bake some cake again, you're crazy."
"Hey the last time it was your fault the kitchen got burned. But that's not what I need to ask of you."
Now he was just fully confused. "So what then?"
"I was wondering if you can stay here at the hospital with Sonic to take care of him."
He stayed silent for a second and said "I rather bake than take care of that moron."
"Hey Sonic is not a moron. He's just silly at times."
"Why can't you take care of him?"
"Well that's the thing. I have finally found a job opportunity here and need to stay there for a week in order to see if I got the job."
"What job is it?"
"A cashier for a pharmacy."
"Why am I not surprised?"
"Anyways I need someone to look after Sonic until he's out of here."
"Well I'm not doing it." He turned his back towards her and begin to walk away.
"I'll pay you a hundred rings."
He turned around back towards her and said "Make it two-hundred."
This was gonna make her lose her money but screw it. "Alright fine. Just please stay with Sonic and if he ever needs anything, just help him. Please?"
Shadow really didn't want to do this. He rather go home and fix those guns. But them again it's hard and Amy did say she will pay him.
"Fine. But you owe me a lot of rings."
"Done!" She was super happy. "Shadow... thank you."
"Yeah yeah. Just don't forget. Two-hundred rings."
"Duly noted." By then Amy Rose ran out of the hospital to head to her new job.
Shadow only peek into the hospital room seeing the blue hedgehog in the bed sleeping peacefully. He growled. "Why did I agree to this again?"
